Around two years ago I made some handkerchiefs ready for my partners official pass out parade. I knew I was going to cry lots so I had to be prepared! 😂 Now everytime I look at that hankercheif, it brings back all the memories from when my partner first joined the Navy. 💕⚓
I finally got around to borrowing my mums sewing machine this past weekend, and upcycled my scrap fabric into some more! 😊

You guys! We closed out another 3 styles over this weekend! Thank you thank you thank you! You all really are amazing.
We hope you enjoy all the summer stuff so far! Our new items are officially in the making and we can wait to show you the last bit of the process and the final products very soon.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated through posts and stories on when they will be available because quantity will be fairly limited! Happy Monday 🙌🏽
Monday’s are not the worst, they’re actually a gift. We have the opportunity to hit a mini reset button to rejuvenate us to reach old, new, and current goals!
We are almost 1/2 way through Plastic Free July, and that mini reset button might be looking pretty nice for some of us. It’s difficult to change things up, so kudos to you for making it so far! Now keep it going!!
On top of goals to reduce plastic in our home, I have been trying to do more reading, learning, and listening as it relates to intersectional environmentalism. There are so many injustices in the world, and shying away from knowing them doesn’t help the problem.
This Monday is my mini reset to feel rejuvenated for continuing learning, processing, and acting against environmental injustices for all, especially the BIPOC community.
MY GARDEN 〰 "Together with the sun and the rain and the Earth, I made this. A coordinated effort to nourish my body as well as the ecosystem I live in.” I wrote this in my journal the day I had my first garden harvest that was actually enough to add to my dinner.
This is the first year I’ve had a vegetable garden, and she is ABUNDANT. I’ve been harvesting green beans consistently for a few weeks now, and now my tomatoes, cucumbers, and hot and bell peppers are starting to reach the point where they can be harvested.
I find it really cool that a bed full of dirt can become food to nourish myself and my family, as well as a beautiful space for nature to thrive in my urban backyard. Watching my garden grow and provide me with food has been such a valuable experience and has had a positive impact on my mental health this year.
Do you have a garden? What’s your favorite thing you’ve planted this year?

For #plasticfreejuly2020 I am sharing some ways that I reduce waste and my businesses impact on the planet. The skein you can see here is a result of one of these practises. When I dye, very rarely a dye bath won't exhaust, meaning that it won't clear fully and there is still colour left behind. I conserve my dye water as much as possible, so when this happens, its very irritating! When the dye water is fully clear I am able to reuse it several times over - without any concern over pesky pigment contaminating the next colourway.
So how is this yarn relevant? I use a skein as a "dye mop" to help clear the dyebath and use up the last of the pigment. This is the one I'm currently using - I think it's actually quite beautiful at the moment! I will reuse it multiple times and when I "retire" it, I will overdye it in a dark shade and make myself something from it! Total win! 💚 My systems aren't perfect, there's always room for improvement! However these matters are very much at the forefront of my mind and are a central part of my business ethos 🌈

Found my @stojo, made out of recyclable materials that had my heart at first, it can hold both hot and cold drinks, so my cappuccino from my fav place while I need to keep keep moving, or sip my masala chai on those mornings that I am running late and can't sit through for that cup at home and still want my tea my way at work, or iced lemonade sometimes that my dehydrating travels need (my heart at second), and what next ? it compresses to this totally cool shape, so easy to stack it in my handbag 🤍
I know I shared about stojo some posts ago as well, but just made this video as reusable is the best green, as far as most solutions are concerned 💚
Motivate. Educate. Talk. Discuss and the green chain continues!
Have you heard of all these tales of skincare tips that sounded like magical solutions?
Perhaps you were told to rigorously exfoliate your skin everyday to get rid of acne, or use overly acidic lemon juice to reduce the appearance of acne scars; but in reality, the legitimacy of those myths are close to zero.🤭
And that's why we at BB decided to bring to you our #mythbusters , a weekly post from us to debunk beauty and skincare myths so you don’t have to rely on guesswork anymore!
For this week's myth busters we present the common skin issue *drumroll* -
Saga of the Oily Skin.
Should I stop using moisturizer? Should I watch my face 3 times a day? Should I dry it out as much as I can?🤔
SWIPE RIGHT & get those facts right.

A monochrome painting, Game Changer depicts a child playing with today’s ‘superhero’ – a toy nurse. The painting which is one square metre, was hung in collaboration with the hospital's managers in a foyer near the emergency department of Southampton General Hospital, UK.
The artist @banksy left a note for hospital workers, which read: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white." The painting will remain at Southampton General Hospital until the autumn when it will be auctioned to raise money for the NHS. How much do you think it might raise? .

The ocean is what connects us all. 💙⠀
This photo was taken in honor of Black Lives Matter paddle outs, where people came together to honor the movement for moments of solidarity and support 💙⠀
This World Oceans Day, we’re not only focused on the importance of the ocean ecosystem for our environment, but also how it can be a place to come together in unity and intention. Everyday, people all over the world enjoy the beauty and magic of our oceans in their own ways. ⠀
The ocean provides a place of peace and harmony. A place to set aside our differences for a greater purpose. As important as it is to honor theses purposes, is it to honor the ocean itself for allowing and contributing to these movements. ⠀
Let’s come together for our people and for our planet. Let’s heal together, for the ocean is what connects us all 🌎 #worldoceansday

thrifted drying rack acting as a catch-all about 86% of the time #zerowasteIRL 😅 but it earns its keep! did you know dryers are one of the most energy-intensive appliances in the house? or that line drying your clothes will prolong their wearability? literally can’t think of anyone who doesn’t want a lower electricity bill and mint condish threads?? sounds like one of those classic win-win scenarios to me!
pro tip from @naturally_tess_:: if you can’t stand that certain “crunchy” quality that air-drying lends to clean clothes, wait until your laundry is almost completely dry before tossing it in the dryer for just a few minutes! crunchiness gone, minimal energy required. done and done.
💚🌏NOT MY TRASH, BUT ITS MY PLANET🌏💚
I picked up a whole bag of trash around my apartment today! It is our duty as humans on this planet to make it better than we left it!
I challenge you to pick up a bag of trash(big or small)!! And make this world more beautiful than it was previously! STASH YOUR TRASH!
I know it’s not your trash, but it’s your planet!! 🌏💚
