Under normal circumstances, this would be around the time we’d be heading to the airport to pick up pilgrims returning home from Hajj 🕋
I initially sketched out this card concept in 2018; my cousin went on Hajj that year and it inspired me to sketch this card. It’s the kind of joke/ sentiment I’d express in our relationship lol 😄
Then the concept sat in my sketchbook for about a year until I showed it to American Greetings @amgreetings and produced this piece of hand lettered art for them ✍️💕
I think honoring pilgrims and giving them an esteemed status upon their return home is such a beautiful tradition. And I hope to always carry on this tradition (in future years once the pandemic is over iA.)
Comment with a ❤️ if you think honoring pilgrims is a beautiful tradition too! 😊

Advance planning will ultimately make a dinner party that much easier to pull off. To help you achieve a more flawless and fun-filled gathering, refer to my previous post for the complete set of guidelines for everything you need to know about throwing your best dinner party. Here’s a continuation of the timeline.
Tʜᴇ Dᴀʏ Oғғ:
🌿Take it from pro chefs and prepare a mise en place, setting out all of the ingredients, sauces and garnishes you’ll need to finish your dishes around a counter area with a cutting board and good knives. Line up small bowls and fill them with everything you’ll need.
🌿Prepare any last dishes.
🌿Set up the table and any décor. All linens, table settings, glasses, place cards and candles should be laid out at this point.
2 Hᴏᴜʀs Bᴇғᴏʀᴇ:
🌿Arrange all the food you cooked previously on the counter and pull out any pots you’ll need to prepare them.
🌿Set up a drink and snack station for guests’ arrival.
🌿Put pitchers or bottles of water on the table.
🌿Get dressed for the evening.
🌿Light candles and put on your playlist.
🌿Have a glass of cold water or a cup of tea, and take a moment for yourself so you’re relaxed when your guests arrive.
Enjoy hosting! 🙌🏼🌿
Thank you so much for all the love on the Eid post! You all know how much I love a little set up and the kids were so excited with it all! Thank you to @eidparty.co.uk for always trusting me with her gorgeous products-I ended up re using a few from last year which is credit to the quality of the decorations! .
I’ll be spamming your feeds with more snippets of the little desserts and treats I made -I always promise myself I’ll just do one or two cakes and then get carried away in my little kitchen lab 😂💙
✨ Eid Mubarak ✨⠀
There’s a time and place for everything. Even Eid decorations. ⠀
Part of me wants to give the back story to each piece, but then in my head, I hear my kids teasing me for my essay long captions. 📝⠀
Everything here came from different times and different ideas and different intentions, yet they all came together to create this display for this specific Eid. (Fine, I’ll go into detail in my stories. 😉) ⠀
I’d like to thank the stars of the show: ⠀
Thank you, @isteakan for bringing my tweaked Pinterest idea to life via the acrylic EID letters, even though Covid originally shut us down for Eid il Fitr. 😅 They’re impeccably made and perfect. 💫⠀
Thank you, @decorationone for inspiring me from the first time I stepped into your showroom. The hand painted box and handmade domes were the color inspiration behind the whole color scheme. I loved the traditional colors, with a twist. (Heh, get it?) Also, their wrapping paper made the perfect DIY table runners. 🤍⠀
Thank you, @manijaansari. Hope I didn’t disappoint. 😉🕋⠀
