One in three people believe a no-frills business card works best. This means a business card with a straightforward designthat conveys only essential information.
Four in 10 people say their perception of a business has been negatively impacted by the quality or design of its cards. Online printing specialists Instant Print unveiled these statistics as part of recent research compiled by the company. The study involved 2,000 adults working in different industries. The company surveyed these people about their thoughts on business cards.
Cost Effective Marketing
Business cards function as a long-established method of cost-effective marketing. This holds true for small businesses of almost every industry. The insights gathered from the research could help small businesses. It could ensure their cards are designed for maximum impact.
For example, consider the insight about simple card design. Small businesses benefit far more from this type of advertising if they stick to simply-designed cards. This means cards conveying little more than essential details. These details could include just basic contact information.
As Jon Constantine-Smith, Head of Instant Print commented: “Driving new customers can be challenging for any business, so turning someone off when you hand a card over is of course something to avoid!
Design for Business Stationery “When it comes to the design of your business stationery, it can be tricky to get it right, but considering your audience, and following the advice laid out by this research — keeping it simple and representative of your services — is a great starting point. “Whilst it can be a challenge to find the inspiration on how to create the perfect business card for your line of work, there are tools, templates and even video guides that can help, especially . . .
1 in 4 Companies Say Social Media is the Worst Place to Recruit Talent

One in 4 companies (24%) say that social media is the least effective method of recruiting. 80% of businesses believe that interviews are an essential way to hire the best talent. However, 21% of companies say they regret relying on interviews alone in the hiring process, and instead say they had wished they had also tested candidates’ skills.
These recruiting statistics were unveiled by a new survey compiled by Clutch, which surveyed 505 full-time employees in the US.
Clutch’s research sheds important light on what companies deem as the most effective and ineffective recruiting strategies are. The findings of the report could prove useful in helping small businesses streamline their recruitment processes and find the most effective ways to hire the best talent.
A Closer Look at Some Survey Results
For example, with almost a quarter of companies admitting social media is the least effective method for recruiting, for small businesses using social media as their primary way to find the best talent, they may be better off focusing more heavily on other platforms and methods to find potential recruits.
Small businesses who rely on interviews alone and refrain from testing a potential candidate’s skills and experience for the position, may want to reconsider their recruitment process strategy and take the time to test a prospective employee’s skills more ardently, in light of Clutch’s findings.
Small businesses may also want to reconsider their interviewing style in the bid to find the right talent. As Jesse Silkoff, founder of MyRoofingPal, an online marketplace which connects customers with local roofers, who ended up recruiting an unsuitable candidate which aced the interview but struggled with the role, commented in a blog about Clutch’s research: “I used to use a . . .

Without ambition, it doesn't really matter how smart you are. Ambition is the driving force that makes our intelligence actually useful. Artist Salvador Dali is credited for this comparison of lack of ambition and a bird being grounded.
We love this at Hatch because we might not always be the smartest in a room, but we sure as hell don't let that stop us from learning and having ridiculous goals that we set for ourselves.

The “Bunny house” is finally starting to look like a house!! I have some crazy students but this one...😬😬😬 @homemadebytarek
I’ve seen some of the nastiest, grossest, most disgusting houses you can possibly think of. The bunny house? One of the top three worst of all times!
When my rookie flippers bought it there were 260 bunnies inside, both dead and alive. It was like a horror film!!
I honestly thought “how are they gonna pull this off” it was so bad.
We had a rough start because someone didn’t listen to their coach, @homemadebytarek, that’s me 😊
Luckily...they turned it around because we are only 3 weeks from the open house!!
What is the worst thing you’ve ever seen inside a home? A you a homeowner or an investor who saw this!? @homemadebytarek
