Macau is an unusual & colourful fusion of both Portugal and China. The Portuguese were the first and last European settlement in China, having first colonized Macau in 1555. The rainbow of colonial buildings alongside the neon signs is truly unique. Your senses are equally perplexed between wafts of steaming hot dumplings and freshly baked melt-in-your-mouth Portuguese tarts. We’d overlooked Macau during our 2 month stint in China years ago (& many visa runs through HK), not realizing it would be such a worthy little gem. ✨

Macau Old Town🇲🇴
1 hour by boat away from Hong Kong lies Macau, a former Portuguese colony and a gambling paradise.
The boats are quite often and multiple companies service this route with prices starting from 100HKD.
Once you arrive in Macau, take a shuttle bus to any of the casinos. The shuttle busses are free! Choose the one that it is closest to where you wish to go and just get off like you are going to gamble and then go your own way 😁
We explored the Old town and it felt a bit surreal because everything looks so European except the population and the road signs. The signs were in Cantonese and Portuguese, they kept the old colonial handling but very few people actually speak Portuguese, just around 2-3%. However it is mandatory to learn it in school.
The Ruins of Saint Paul's are the ruins of a 17th-century Catholic religious complex in Santo António, Macau, China. It includes what was originally St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul also known as "Mater Dei", a 17th-century Portuguese church dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. I was really amazed that some of the signs on the road and bus in Macau still used Portuguese.
This landmark never gets empty of tourist, so be prepare of your photo spot📸
A day trip to the Vegas of Asia💸
➳LOST FACT: Macao's government makes so much money from casino taxes that they give each of their citizen's $1200 every year💰

True love doesn't happen right away; it's an ever-growing process. It develops after you've gone through many ups and downs, when you've suffered together, cried together, laughed together 👫
