Today was our last day in Chiang Mai and we took it pretty easy. We are headed to Hoi An, Vietnam tomorrow. We’ll park there for at least a couple of months while our kids do a term at another school! Excited is an understatement.
This magical photo was taken by our Mompreneur series editor @marta1984 from Lapland UK in Ascot, England. And this is her daughter Ali. You can look forward to seeing more of them as Marta has agreed to takeover our stories soon to do a “day-in-the-life” from her home in London. Stay tuned, it’s coming your way very soon and we can’t wait!
My daughter's travel bucket list now includes 'visiting beautiful bookshops around the world' which makes our Mum & daughter weekends away together much easier to plan! The Lello bookshop in Porto apparently inspired J.K. Rowling to write Harry Potter; can't wait to see it when we visit in August... What's on your family's travel bucket list? Have you asked your children what's on theirs?
We're a team of two at My Native and three of our four children replied 'travelling less by car and by plane'! So, this week's family newsletter will be our top tips for travelling sustainably. With news of flight-shaming in Sweden also making the headlines this month, it's got us thinking about holidays that carry a lower carbon footprint.
But it's not just about the journey; we'd also like our clients to start thinking about how the hotel or lodge that they choose organises their waste management, what their approach is on plastics, how they source their produce, what their focus is on sustainable, community-based tourism. If you're not already signed up for Native News see the link in bio or go to www.my-native.com/contact-us.
Trying to be motivated to book flights to England but for the cost of flights plus car hire, petrol, expenses for seeing family and friends etc we could have a few days in Valencia or Madrid where it won't be grey and rainy.
Uwaga, uwaga, mam pytanko ❗️
Szukam spokojnego miasteczka/wioski w Chorwacji na podróż z maluchem👨👩👦 Mile widziane miejsce na spacery z wózkiem i łatwo dostępna plaża🙂 Może ktoś zna i mógłby polecić❓
It took a while before I finally met Chip 'n' Dale in their dino costumes. Three trips, actually. Originally it seemed like it was a short run for these costumes and I thought I missed it after we left in 2018. They are seriously thr cutest in these costumes.
I'm hoping the kids get to see them during our next trip.
Here’s another sight worth stopping for on the road between Argostoli and Fiscardo. We took a detour to visit the village of Assos which was beautifully peaceful in early October (you wouldn’t guess there’d been a storm the day before!) A Venetian castle on the hilltop looks down on this pretty bay. It would be a lovely walk but we settled for lunch at a little taverna on the water’s edge. It was a classic Greek island afternoon ⛱🌊. Find out more about our stay on the island of Kefalonia, hosted by @IonianVillas, on the blog, link in profile ⬆️ #familytravel#visitgreece#kefalonia .
A great educational journey of the Native cultures of the Western hemisphere.
Our favorite was the third floor which featured a children's imagiNATIONS Activity Center. You get a passport at the entrance and work your way around exhibits learning about native cultures. There were fun hands on activities.
The outside grounds are quite beautiful. The sweeping curvilinear architecture and indigenous landscaping are all designed in collaboration with tribes and communities from across the hemisphere. It is serene and peaceful.
We enjoyed the cafeteria as it had a wide assortment of native dishes. They also sell typical burgers and such for the picky eaters. .

#andazpapagayo has been extraordinary. Have kids in high heat? Free snow cones. Have nonstop kids in the ocean and pool? Free food (and ice cream/marshmallows). The people at the resort were wildly kind and the general manager was the most charismatic human I have met. Traveling with kids is not “easy” at all- but it’s way more smooth and wonderful when the resort and people want to assist and help and laugh with you. 10/10 !
MANIFEST YOUR TRAVEL GOALS! I’m so excited to announce our 2020 partnership with @trover#TroverPartner . Trover is a photo sharing app where each beautiful picture comes with a mini travel guide, giving you detailed information on the location.
You can also create wishlists from other people’s photos to manifest your travel goals into reality! I’m all about manifesting and believe when you create your goals with intention and work towards them they come true.
We’ve put together our 2020 travel wishlist on Trover and you can click the link in bio to view it. I encourage you to download Trover and create your own as well, it’s easier to work towards something when you’ve taken the thought out of your mind and put it somewhere you can view daily.
What’s on your 2020 Travel Wish List? Do you believe in manifesting? Why or why not?

I feel like it’s been a long while since we’ve re-introduced ourselves... so here we are! Walker Family Goods is made up of this crew... me, the mom (Lex), (Loren) the dad, our oldest (Arrow), our middle child (Louie) and our baby (Valley)! Loren and I were freelance filmmakers before Walker and that job allowed us to travel a lot. When we had Arrow in 2013, we didn’t let him stop our travels... if anything, we traveled more often. Every job then and now, we have brought our kids along for the ride. By no means are we a full-time travel family, but we make an effort to prioritize it so that we can see new places, try new things, eat new foods and share all of that with our children! 2.5 years ago we started @walkerfamilygoods to help inspire others to get out and make memories... kids or no kids, travel should not be difficult; keep it simple! We’re doing a little Q & A in our stories, if you have something you want to ask us! #walkerfamilygoods#outmakingmemories#travelwithkids#familytravel
