Italy Day 1: Venice. We woke up to flooding which stranded us until a salesman came by selling disposable "booties". These fashionable footwear can be found at many stores for €8, he offered them for €15, and we talked him down to €10. Not a bad deal for delivery 😉
We waded around the city a little, got some delicious pasta take out for lunch at @dalmoros (try the Bolognese!), then decided to break for a nap. More exploring in the evening, then we got pizza for dinner at @rossopomodoro_italia where the water started flooding in as we were just finishing and told us it was time to call it a night before it got worse.
The kids eyes and minds are becoming open to a whole new world they didn’t know existed. Riding an elephant is certainly the highlight for these three kids since arriving to Bali a few days ago. Although elephants are amazing, the realization runs much deeper. On the way to the zoo we asked our driver, who’s name is Dingo, how the zoo was. He said he didn’t know as he’s never been able to afford taking himself or his kids there. On the way out of the zoo we walked through the gift shop and Cruz started whining a little about me not buying him something. I said, “Cruz, remember what Dingo said? His kids have never seen a zoo, any zoo! Let’s be thankful for what we’ve done today”. Cruz got that look on his face when something really “clicks” in their brain. He looked at me and said, “I loved the zoo today Daddy, smiled, grabbed my hand, and we walked out”. Smart kid. 😁😍
Economists the world over have argued that the key to happiness is obtaining and enjoying material development. Bhutan however, adheres to a very different belief and advocates that amassing material wealth does not necessarily lead to happiness. Bhutan is now trying to measure progress not by the popular idea of Gross Domestic Product but by Gross National Happiness.
His Majesty the third Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck expressed his view on the goals of development as making “the people prosperous and happy.” With this strong view in mind, the importace of “prosperity and happiness,” was highlighted in the King’s address on the occasion of Bhutan’s admission to the United Nations in 1971.
While the emphasis is placed on both, prosperity and happiness, the latter is considered to be more significant. The fourth Druk Gyalpo emphasized that for Bhutan “Gross National Happiness,” is more important than “Gross National Product.” Thus, Gross National Happiness is now being fleshed out by a wide range of professionals, scholars, and agencies across the world.
Travel with CB in 2020! We believe travel is the best gift we can give the next generation. We are offering a unique opportunity to travel with one of our Travel Advisors, Cary!
Cary says “Every summer I witness the power of travel through the eyes of my young Rick Steves' tour members and there is nothing more gratifying. As a result, I am partnering with Me to We, an innovative social enterprise, to lead a service learning trip to Ecuador during Spring Break (March 14-22). 🌎

We took a shuttle bus to #BeachPalaceCancun for the day. This photo was taken from the roof, with the beach in the background. The beach is absolutely beautiful here. We’ve enjoyed playing on the waves, playing/watching beach volleyball, delicious drinks, & soaking up the sun. Tonight we’ll head back to Moon Palace for dinner & a show. ❤️ @PalaceResorts#ThePalaceLife#PalacePartner
Benidorm, home of a zillion UK expats, a beautiful beach and loads of English breakfast. .
We found Benidorm just a wee too touristy - an English pub every 100ft was just a bit much for us. But we would come back in the Summer for that beach!! .
When we travel we love a hint of the familiar but truly crave culture. Isn’t that why we travel to experience something new and different? .
We don’t want a location to bend to us we want to immerse ourselves in the culture. To learn and grow. .
Positive note we did take the train and it was super clean, inexpensive and easy to use. Also due to the huge English expat community it was easy to communicate. .

Towards the end of our road trip in California / Nevada, we had fallen into a bit of a pattern with Raahi's naps. If our first place of visit was nearby, we'd try to get her to nap in the room before we left. If the place was slightly far (>45 minutes away), we'd try to time her nap in the car so that she could be fresh and awake when we reached. Then it was time for a feed, possible diaper change and off we went.
We do realize that such minor details could be totally inconsequential to those who don't have babies, but for those who do (or are planning to tread the path of parenthood), this would be helpful, we hope. Whether parents or not, we all know that those cranky babies are no fun :) On another note, we can't get over how cute our little munchkin looks with her papa. Yes?
Workout, even when it’s hot and you’re travelling. Exercise doesn’t have to be in the gym, moving your body is so important
This was from our 8 weeks in Europe, Thor was 18months old, we had just sold our first business and were living off the sale income
We spent a lot of money, it brought up a lot of money stories for me, but it was just the thing I needed to be able to move forward in my emotional and spiritual relationship with money
I wanted an income that I could create while we travelled, so I came home, had another baby, worked out that my traditional business wasn’t serving our values (travel) and began working with the gratitude gang
I NEEDED an income that would serve others in the exchange of money but would also help others create one too, so I chose to start with the gang, it’s been growing ever since, not only do I get to impact other peoples health and wellness by sharing my adventure back to health, but I get paid to do so
Have you felt like you wanted more flexibility? I certainly did. We had to get ourselves out of a hole first though, and it came with effort. But it wasn’t like a traditional business, we had A LOT going on, so it needed to be something that could build over time, and it has, and it is still growing
I’m going to share something on my stories today about setting goals for 2020 and maybe even 2021-2022, it’s not the traditional - I want this so I can be this kind of goal setting, it’s deeper and covers way more than just earn this, do this, however, one of my goals for 2020 is to help MORE families have more holidays, whether it’s a weekend away or a nomadic lifestyle, I’m here to help 45 families create something cool and spend more time together
Spending more time with my loved ones brings me a lot of joy and I know a lot of families don’t get to do this, so this is my mission, if you want to build a travel fund, Dm me, I would love to show you how
A little throwback to Morzine - 2 years ago. I’ve never skied or snowboarded - but being given the opportunity to go on a ski holiday was just incredible. They are certainly memories I’m very grateful for. Who’s going on a winter holiday this year and actually going skiing ⛷ 😂
Holidaying with children can be challenging. Which is why I thought I'd share the tips I keep up my sleeve. Here is the first of a few that I'll share with you over the next few weeks.
First up, travelling with kids. It can take a really long time to get to our skiing destinations. I know from experience that children find long journeys really hard.
Why not ask children to pack their own rucksack with a small selection of favourite books and toys for the journey? Then wrap some little surprises like pencils and toys and pull out when you feel they need something new to entertain them.
You must see the Deck the Chairs display at Jacksonville Beach! Our favorite is the Jelly Fish light display. Celebrating the holidays at the beach is the best! Proceeds benefit the Volunteer Life Corps of Jacksonville Beach. 📸 @visit_jax

Sounds contradictory right?
Where we do things where not even aware of:
The handfuls of cheese we shove into our mouths while cooking
The gossip we engage in with friends
The mindless social media scrolling
Spending money on meaningless things
Turning the TV on and sitting as the hours go by
I’m not saying you shouldn’t EVER do these things...but make sure you are doing them for a purpose! I literally walked to my pantry 4 times to get more chocolate chips yesterday...it was like I was in a trance. #sugaraddiction
I have a feeling a LOT of people struggle with this, because I most certainly do!
Some tips I have to break these habits:
* Time block - block out every hour of your day with activities, to-dos and yes - leisure time! * Track what you eat...this will make you very aware of what your putting into your body
* Budget all your expenses and stick to it!* Set goals & find an accountability partner

THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS
When I visited #NYC for the first time, someone described it as : “A city you are going to either love or hate, but can not leave you indifferent! “
Of course it was love at first sight and even more so now that I go with finding kid-friendly activities in mind.
New York has so much to offer for our little ones ♥️

Looking at this picture, we look pretty happy - right? But truth be told, we were all cold, irritated and downright exhausted by the time we reached Pena Palace in Sintra.
After leaving our AirBnB much earlier than usual, we took an Uber, a train and a bus to reach this stunning UNESCO World Heritage site. After standing out in the cold for a good 45 minutes or so to buy tickets, Celeste already had enough and had a MAJOR meltdown when we tried to strap her back into her stroller and carrier (see our previous post) - the kind of meltdown where other parents of seemingly quieter kids stare and whisper in judgment. 🙄
So by the time we took this picture, our nerves were rattled, and we were kinda over it.
Traveling with a toddler rarely, if ever, feels like a vacation. Jave and I joke that our “vacations” are really just opportunities to work away from home - oftentimes abroad - but we’re still very much on the 24/7/365 #NoDaysOff parenting clock.
Of course, looking back, tough travel days with our little girl are definitely worth it, but still, we usually return home feeling like we could really use a vacation. 😂
Can you relate?

“Remember 𝐰𝐡𝐲 you 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥.”
Becoming 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 has been one of the greatest blessings of our life.
Sure, we were hesitant to go all in and that’s a natural human 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘵 (fight or flight).
If something makes you scared or nervous, you are on the 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡!
We are grateful that we trusted our intuition because we have 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳𝘴 that we believed would always be shut.
Remember, your brain will 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 look for the easiest or safest path.
We would rather live outside the norm than look back and think “𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧”
So, if starting your own online business seems scary. We totally get it because we were there too. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!
Stop living a life of 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴.

🌟Have you done Christmas shopping yet?
We try to get everyone a Christmas present each year, but sometimes it's a real struggle to find a gift. This year, we have the perfect one for grandma. A @neveo_family_album, that's convenient and easy to use. With the app, you can pick up to 50 photos, you can even easily acces your IG photos. They will print it in a paper album at the end of the month, and send it to the address you've given, worldwide! Now grandma can see all the pictures and look back whenever she wants, without being on Instagram or other social media! I say that's a win!

Oh hello from sunny and beautiful paradise! ☀ ☀ ☀ ⠀⠀
Did I trick you? Well, we are not on the beach in the sunny location (I wish though😭😭😭). We are hibernating in U.K. and right now only dreaming about beach, sun, ice-creams, sun tans, building sand castles, long days...who is with me here? If I promise to never complain again about sand being everywhere (incl. my toddler mouth) after beach trip, can we have summer time again? 🤣🤣🤣 #lovesummer ⠀⠀
I always find November and January the hardest months of the year. Every year my poor husband needs to keep listening to my complains how I’m fed up with this weather. I think he deserves the order of merit for his hard work to keep my spirits up 🎖Year after year, Ollie and I make promise to each other that we will go away around this time of the year to a sunny location but we never do 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ If I was him, I would book a surprise trip just to keep me happy (and quiet 😂😂😂) ⠀⠀
How about you?
Happy 1. Advent ihr Lieben ✨ Werbung
