✨Are you on this cash flow hamster wheel? ✨
Everrrrry personal finance person under the sun is going to talk to you about cutting your expenses
Listen, I know cutting your expenses is important - but if it’s the only part of your money that you focus on….. Then I’ve got some bad news
You’re not spending your energy efficiently
I spent YEARS spinning my wheels on this part of my money. It can definitely make a difference for you. But, unless you have a surefire strategy and system behind your cost-cutting, most people burn out because they’re not enjoying the life that they’ve set up for themselves.
Here are common cost-cutting mistakes to avoid:
💰Set a limit 💰
If you’re cutting costs it’s for a PURPOSE and it has a limit. Are you cutting costs to make up for a specific $$ deficiency, like paying $300 extra on your credit card or getting your house professionally cleaned this month for $100? Make a specific goal and then staaaap there. A couple of months of focus should be all you need to move the needle here.
💰Focus on the BIG LEAKS, not small tweaks 💰
Think of your personal finances like a boat that you are making hella efficient.⛵️ If your boat isn’t sailing fast, don’t spend your time polishing the steering wheel if you’ve got a hole in the side of it (lol I don’t know boat parts, sorry). Stop focusing on the little areas that don’t matter (like guac upcharges) and focus on how you can get your transportation expenses down. Feel me?
💰Use value as your guide 💰
There is a saying in the personal finance space, “You can afford anything, but you can’t afford everything.” Loosely translated → you’ve got to put intention behind your spending choices. Ask yourself which of these expenses bring real VALUE to my life? Spend more in the line items that bring your life VALUE → if it doesn’t bring you value learn how to CUT or say 👋
✈️Travel is my area I’m not willing to say goodbye to. As a daughter of a flight attendant, wanderlust is basically a core personality trait. In order for me to spend more in this area (hey throwback photo of Ireland 🇮🇪 ).
Honestly, I wasn’t sure I’d post this. I know posting updates on net worth is a big part of other pages to motivate both the poster and followers. And maybe boost the poster’s credibility through showing their success and consistent habits. I just turned 40, married with two kids. I’ve never done FI/RE, as I didn’t even know about it until a couple of years ago. If I did, I’d be farther ahead for sure!
Looking back there are lots of things I would do differently. But overall, I think my household is doing pretty well. There’s always a next chapter and life is full of learning. That’s why I created this page. To share information to hopefully inspire others to stop fearing what may seem scary and just start taking the first steps toward a better financial tomorrow for them and their family. 💪🏾

We're all going to experience turbulence or resistance.
Keep in mind - if there's no resistance, there's no growth.
In my stories earlier this week I mentioned I need to go grocery shopping. Then I stopped and I thought could I get by with dinner like I had did the day before.
I thought we have rice and beans I know I have some frozen meat in the freezer I have tortilla chips we could have tacos or nachos I knew I had options.
So I didn't NEED to go grocery shopping. Mind you I knew I would have to make a trip within the next couple days because we are low on fruit, veggies and milk for kiddos.
I have caught myself using the word need a lot. I need this and I need that. I feel like sometimes I say that to make myself feel better about wanting to spend.
Obviously I know it's okay to spend. And with this specific example food is a necessity so I will be spending. But for me I need to be honest with in myself of WHY I feel I need to spend.
I feel that this journey has forced me to be honest with myself. This really is a personal growth journey. In that journey I am finding my triggers and realizing how little I actually need.
Word of the day today is Market Value. Market Value is an important topic because it determines the price you pay for a particular good or service. When making purchases you should also consider the market value for what the asset is going for if you were to purchase it someplace else. The value of the asset can change over time depending on market conditions. Have you seen the value of some goods or services change recently?

I've actually done extensive research into this. I am a senior Financial coach and I have made it my mission to help people get out of poverty. So in both the situational cycle of poverty and generational cycle of poverty you'll see less nutritious and more processed foods. But why? Like someone said previously food deserts do play a major factor for a lot of people but not all. Another major thing that I see is individuals and families unable to come up with first/last month's rent plus deposit the end up renting weekly motel rooms. Maybe only having a tiny mini fridge and no stove they end up eating a lot of fast food or microwave meals such as hungry man. And in turn their health suffers there performance at work suffer and the cycle goes round. In generational poverty a lot of times your parents got the pre-made meals, they got the take out, the fast food because their health was already suffering and you never learned to cook and you became accustomed to frozen meals and fast food as normal. In this society I notice so many people want to point a finger at the poor (they spend there food stamps on crap food) about their health but nobody wants to take the time and dig into the facts that its because they are poor they have that bad health #financialfitness#prosperity#prosperitypartners#teamprosperity#judgenot#cycleofpoverty#visiouscycle#breakthecycle#poormakespoor#poortoprosperity#makehealthyfoodsaffordable

The secret to saving that no one talks about 🤫💰
A lot of times savings can be reactive. The “thing” happens and we start planning.
“I just got engaged! I should probably save for a wedding.”
“We’re having a baby! I should probably save for a baby!”
But what if instead, it went something like this:
“I’m single right now but I’m assuming I’m going to get married at some point. So I’m gonna start savings for a wedding. No shame in my game.” #walkinfaith 😅
Think that’s a little crazy?
I’m not engaged and I have $3,000 in my wedding fund.
In My. Game. 🙃
Here’s the thing:
I know this is coming at some point in my life. I also know I’m about to step into some bigger adult purchases as well.
Furnishing a new apt/house.
Building a business.
Having a baby.
Buying a house.
I see these things coming up and I want future Andrea to have the space & freedom to step into those seasons well.
“Present Andrea” can still live a happy & fulfilled life while also setting up “Future Andrea.” It doesn't have to be either, or. 👏🏽
So Wealth Builder, I encourage you to think through any upcoming or future purchases and start way before the “it just happened” moment.
Your future self will always thank you.
What’s something you were so glad you saved for ahead of time?

Over the years, I’ve learned to carry my weight well.
Anyone else remember hearing someone say the same thing about others as a compliment? I sure do. And, for so long, I thought that it was until recently.
Yes, part of my reasoning has do with me stepping on a scale! But no, this is not a post body shaming myself.
Nevertheless, what the scale reminded me of is that it’s time to let go of the extra weight I thought looked good on me.
Weight is weight. Be it physical, mental, emotional, or some other form.
In short, this #WithLoveLydiaWednesday I’d like to suggest that it might be time for you to lose some weight — beyond pounds.
I legit have multiple trainers on my weight loss journey. I’m reading more, I’ve partnered with a personal trainer, and I’m working on my mental and financial fitness.
My fave Nike quote is, “Yesterday you said tomorrow.”
It’s go time! You with me?

Got to catch up with my guy @stephencurry30 ....We talked about financial literacy...We openly discussed our ups & our downs with money with a crowd of people in hopes to encourage & inspire our youth to save & spend properly. In our communities there has always been a lack of commitment to helping our youth understand how to properly prepare for their futures thru banking correctly.... I’m proud to say that @jpmorgan@chase is making this issue a priority & is allowing me & @stephencurry30 to travel & personally talk to our kids of today & tomorrow....The change starts now and it starts with us taking responsibility to correct the things that need the most correcting!!!!! #HartofitAll#Chase#FinancialFitness#LiveLoveLaugh

The start of my financial journey wasn't smooth sailing.
When I figured out that I wanted to change my relationship with money, I spent weeks and months learning how to handle my money better.
In a few months, I went from extreme spending to the opposite end of the scale❗️
I felt anxious about spending money on anything because I felt like it was moving me further away from my goals. I held on tightly to all my money.
You see, I had taught myself everything I could find about money management. But that was only half of the picture.
My money mindset was still a mess✖️
When I realised that I was getting in my own way, I decided to make big changes.
⚡️I went deep into my money story and past behaviour to understand my blocks
⚡️I got clear on how to challenge and transform my scarcity mindset
⚡️I developed an abundant and positive approach to money
& guess what happened?
➡️ I went from stressed out and afraid of my bank balance to confident and in control of my money.
Money doesn't have to be hard.
I want you to win with money.
That's why I've been working for months to bring you THE MONEY MAKEOVER...more to be announced very very soon!🎉
