It’s a bit like looking at the clouds and seeing shapes and objects. Except here I see a stick drinking a neutron haha

So many emotions, so many colors and so much depth… This piece is so dynamic and full of expression, it’s hard to look away. If you want to buy this original piece of art, write us DM or visit our bio link.
Most of the time the paper or the gouache dictate my composition. They’re almost never from actual photos or people, mostly they’re just imaginative. I do often find beautiful inspiration from places where I’m unable to capture the moment, which might be why they’re inspiring to me to begin with. I think these moments surface in my imagination. I’m not sure why my compositions usually crawl around or are turned away or headless really, I suppose there’s something special about catching an intimate, out of context moment that wasn’t put there for capturing.
Today, an artist who just wants to capture the major moments of peoples' lives in ways further than just a regular photograph...Michael Volpicelli uses quotes from his subjects, what others say about them, and a host of other themes to bring pieces together through mostly just words. A former United States Army combat medic, his portfolio spans from portraits of commanding officers, to family, to figures and animals we all know.

Today for #followfridayartists I’m sharing a fun story. The first photo was sent to me by my daughter, who has been traveling in Europe. It’s a rainbow/bike wall in Denmark. The second photo is of a wonderful ceramic studio/shop in Denmark that we found on Instagram a while ago. She was determined to find this little shop @studioarhoj on her trip, and she did!! THIS is the power of sharing and discovery that Instagram enables. There has been a lot said recently about the negatives of social media, and I get it. But there’s also a very happy side. I’ve met so many people and discovered so many artists and others to follow. It’s opened up the world and I love it.
I think the trick is to not let these little squares get you down. Just do what you want. Be you!
The fact that a young woman from #provoutah visited, and purchased fun stuff, from an artist in #copenhagendenmark is incredible. I love it!!
