In the short time (I think you’re officially old when you think 3 years is short) I’ve known @daniellerainwater she’s become one of my best friends, closest confidants, and general light in my life.
Any time I need her she’s there without even asking. She was by my side at my wedding and at my pro debut. She’s always there to listen when I need to feel some feelings, but will also tell me exactly what I truly need to hear in order to pick my ass up and get after what I want.
I’m so proud of everything she’s become in the time I’ve known her—I’ve watched her be successful AF as a competitor, take charge of her health like a boss, step up into big things at her job, and overall just come into her own as the strong, Independant, badass chick that I always knew she was.
This sport (and our local coffee chain) brought us together and that’s maybe one of my favorite things about bodybuilding; the people it brings together and connects you with.
Keep killin it in life my friend—can’t wait to be there for every step of the way like you’ve been there for me❤️

I did not wanna do this today. The 🧠 was 🏃🏽♀️and I had to just 🛑 it!! So glad I did because the night got better & better!! This mom/coach cannot give from an empty cup & now my cup runnneth over.

I am doing what I never thought I would do & never once in 4 years did I have one regret. For the first time ever with doing this lifestyle change, I now know that this is one thing that I need to be doing. For me...and for others!! I’ve wanted to delete this MULTIPLE times because who likes to admit they are going through some tough stuff?? NO ONE. Because sometimes we think that’s being weak. But I’m reminding myself that those women who have shared their not so pretty behind the scenes of their life and what they are going through... I admire that so much and I feel such a stronger connection to them vs those who always pretend life is great all the time.
So this is what is on my heart.
Sometimes we get so caught up in what God ISN’T doing in our life that we forget what he HAS done in our life.
Long story short, I’ve been going through a rough season. Just questioning a lot of things because things aren’t going the way IIII want them to go... which in turns makes me anxious which in turn drains my energy. Basically I lost my mojo and this isn’t something out of the norm for me. (I’m a questioner and achiever and perfectionist and over thinker so yeah bad combo sometimes 😆🤣) I go through this once in a while. I think we all do from time to time.
But you know what I use to do when I was in this funk??? I would lay on the couch and eat my emotions. Like literally EAT and EAT and EAT until I was sick to my stomach. Which in turn made me even more depressed and miserable and zapped my energy even more! Aaand I gained weight... a lot of it.😑
You know what I do now?
I wake up. I might turn on the TV for a show or two but not all day. I read a lot — doing a Bible study right now. I get up and shower. I follow my intermittent fasting routine. I stick with eating healthy 80% of the time like I usually do. I workout. I get work done. I clean the house. I get together with friends. I get out of the house and do things with Sean. I go about my day like normal even if it’s hard.
That’s a huge huge huge victory for me!!! God placed Plexus in my life and sometimes I take that for granted. Because of Plexus I can still function and have enough in me to get up and go about my day. I don’t eat my emotions... I don’t even have the urge to eat my emotions which is sooo weird for me. That use to be a daily issue for me and even worse when I had seasons like this.(Cont👇)
Something that I am going to devote myself to talking more about. Heck, this is really the whole reason why I started my page & I realize I do not talk about it nearly enough.
So, what is it? Diet culture is a system of beliefs that worships thinness & equates it to health and moral virtue. It promotes weight loss as a means of attaining higher status. It demonizes certain ways of eating while elevating others (thank you @chr1styharrison for these definitions 🙌🏼) Basically, diet culture is a way of life that focuses around diets. Even if you don’t think you are actually dieting you can be caught up in this culture! It’s a way that makes it seem like you are healthy & achieving wellness, but in reality it is the opposite.
I myself have had my fair share of being wrapped up in this culture, and even still find myself falling into it every now and then.
On my walk today I had a revolutionary moment. Most people don’t even realize they are involved in diet culture! Which is exactly why I am bringing it to light on my page. This is what I want to preach. As a future dietician this is my passion. I am excited to share my journey with you and my tips to help you get out of this diet culture. Stay tuned for more informative discussions on this topic 😁

The other day I ran out of @tropeaka Lean Vanilla protein powder, which was a sad day. BUT it led to me to a great discovery: CHOCOLATE BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE 🤤. Ya know those brookside chocolate açaí bites? It’s like that! So freaking good. Blueberry and chocolate people, the most underrated combo of the century. You heard it here first.
- 1/2 frozen banana (opt. I like the creamy consistency banana gives)

Who else loves football season? 🙋🏼♀️ Wanted to talk about something I found very important this past week; preparing for success.
I started school up again this week (as i’m sure a lot of you did as well) (year 6 of college HA 🙃) and with that comes a lot of planning. I have to say, I am one who thrives on routine and schedules so I was semi-happy to be back in a solid routine!
BUT it also becomes harder to juggle everything; school, work, homework, gym, social life... it can get overwhelming. And this is where it’s up to you to set yourself up for success!
