Though I am not a 100% vegan. I did not want to lose the opportunity I got today to try the vegan thali at Gopi that was specially arranged by Dilip Thakkar upon Priti Ma'am requests.
I was wondering till the last moment how ghee, milk, and curd would be substituted?
Super amazed to know that Kadi was made using “Peanut Mylk”, Buttermilk prepared from “Melon Seed curd”, Khandvi using “Peanut Curd” and the showstopper of the thali: The Sukdi was made in oil. Dal was tempered in oil and Rotis were served without ghee spread.
As we all know, a majority of our Gujarati dishes are vegan so chana masala, bhindi, potato, guvar tameta, vegetable cutlet, puri, green/ tamarind chutney, sambaaro, and papad accompanied the vegan items.
The thali was a gastronomical delight for a vegan! I enjoyed it despite not being one.
A special thanks to Priti Ma'am who actually made all vegan-based mylk and curds.
Wanted to eat something from outside, but was not in a position to go out. Was not at all in a mood to eat the mayonnaise overloaded Shakti sandwich . I asked to get a simple sandwich with Vegetable base and least of mayo or no mayo😅😅.And just as husbands do (they don't listen to what wives say), he got exactly what I had said no for !! A Mexican grilled sandwich from Shakti.
I had 2 pieces of it reason being - he took efforts to bring at 11:30 at night 2nd was hungry and not in a mood to cook !! Mind you Maggi is a much better option 🙄
I find these overloaded sandwiches choking the throat with Mayo and highly unhealthy. Moreover the basic taste and flavour gets zero. I prefer brown bread sandwiches full of freshly cut veggies, green chutney without cheese & mayonnaise and preferably non grilled .What's your fav kind of sandwich?
Congratulations, @swaty_kungwani !

The last few days were spent in nursing my weary body...a bad phase of viral, followed by utter weakness. Once better, I wanted to have something light but nourishing. This was my go-to recipe.
Chop chunks of pumpkin and carrot, add a cup of water, a 1 inch stick of cinnamon and pressure-cook it for 2-3 whistles. Once nice and mushy, remove the cinnamon stick and blend the rest in a mixer.
Take this thick paste and bring it to a boil again with another cup of water. You can also use coconut milk for a more decadent soup. Add salt, pepper and a generous amount of turmeric powder (great for colds). If the pumpkin isn't sweet enough, you can also add in some jaggery (another natural ingredient to fight colds). Once it has boiled and thickened a bit, serve garnished with some pumpkin seeds and coconut shavings.
Went to havmor after so many days ! Those words "BACK ON PUBLIC DEMAND " made me feel so proud !!! I made my husband aware about what PUBLIC DEMAND means here. It's back in the menu because of our very own FIA family .
I personally like the vegetable burger 😍
✨Comm’on have some Momos!

Dish🍽:- Wok On Fire tossed Momos
Momo is a type of South Asian dumpling, popular across the India and Himalayan regions. We tried this fried momos in HUNAN SAUCE, which was medium spicy. This were the best momos we had in Ahmedabad.
Though I prefer steamed momos over fried momos.

Hara bhara kebab: It is made with green peas, spinach, coriander leaves and potatoes. It is one of the most commonly found appetizer but hardly any restaurant has impressed me with this starter. This dish at @pbhagattarachand is fresh, crispy and extremely delicious that tastes even better with green chutney.
