Father and Daughter time this morning... I stand back, take a photo, and feel the appreciation that at this time we can get out into this beautiful place we live on earth 💜🌏 and walk in the fresh morning air - keeping our personal distance from others.
Sunday is also my hubby’s only day off work home with us this week.
Blessed he still has work 🙏🏻 when others do not. Knowing they (his work) have brought in hygiene and safety measures. You still do pray 🙏🏻 We think it is best to keep our distance right now. For all humanity.
We also want to continue to live life as normal as we can and continue to enjoy what we do, like our beach walks.
The sun was shining and the air was warm so we went for a long walk on the beach. ⠀
The cool, wet sand is well packed and easy to walk through. Without much effort you can stroll as easily as if you were on sodden earth.⠀
The warm, dry sand is loose and requires more effort with each step; however, if you step in another’s footprints, the journey is a bit easier.⠀
Sometimes we step in other people’s footprints because forging a new path isn’t easy.⠀
That’s the truth about walking in sand and also a metaphor about life ...

Even when it seems like we're walking alone, God carries us. The Footprints in the Sand poem (below) reminds us that when we need God the most, He is closer than we know. .
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
While sailing from one island to another here in Caribbean we often see the coast in front of us from more than 30 nautical miles. When there were about 10 miles left to Barbuda, we still weren't able to see the shore. So flat this island is!
Barbuda has deep rough Atlantic in the east with beaches full of shells, all kind of ocean debris and powerful waves. In the west shore there is a Caribbean sea, where one can enjoy calm waters and pink sand beaches. Firstly we achored in between, where the reef separates you from the big ocean, but the sea is flat and incredibly clear. We didn't notice how the days passed doing nothing but snorkeling, cause the place was so plenty of underwater life. We saw elegant stingrays, lobsters hiding under coral formations, lots of colourful reef fishes, dolphins' family and even a nurse shark resting under the rocks. It scared of us and quickly ran away to the safer corner. To be true, we also scared a little bit of this unexpected encounter even knowing these guys aren't dangerous for people :).
The two other anchorages in Barbuda rewarded us with the big green turtles and the solitude of endless beaches. At some places the sand was charming pink (due to the tiny parts of the crushed shells) and so soft that your feet leave huge deep footprints behind you. That's one of the most peaceful places we have ever been. Even if this island is best known for it's magnificent beaches, here you are alone for miles...
🧡💙Good Morning💙🧡 so we’ve been given the orders to stay at home for 3 weeks 😷 during this time I’ll be scrolling back through my archives for posts 💙 here’s a shot of sunnier times in Gran Canaria ✨☀️ stay safe everyone! 💛
The impression we leave behind ⠀
has no proportion to time. ⠀
We can meet for a year, a week, or a glance on the street. ⠀
And touch a lifetime. ⠀
Grateful today for the lives that have shaped mine. ⠀
