It’s the moments that count. While we're taking a break from sky scanning, we want to relive your extraordinary moments when you post or tag us with #mymomentofbluesky . Here, we delve into an exploration of the wild led by our founder, @krys_say, as she recounts that night on a star bed in the wide open plains of Serengeti. But it's not just her story we want to tell: it's yours too.
"It's hard to believe that just a few months ago I was in Tanzania, navigating the wide open Serengeti plains in wild abandonment, and unencumbered. I will never forget the night I spent on a star bed, tuning into the symphony of nature and the occasional animal calls of zebras, topis and buffalos grazing bedside. The air was cool and the insects joined me under the covers. But in its rawness, I enjoyed the vulnerability - there were no fences, or shelter, only a bedded seat in the dead center of the national park. At one point, with a big inhale into the belly I drank up that moment and let it sink deep into my being like a precious elixir that would forever now form part of my DNA. This was #mymomentofbluesky - and I can't wait to experience it again.”
Some good times hanging out up high in the mountains in a fire lookout. These lookouts are my shoulder favorite hiking destinations. ☀️⛰🏕 @disa

One of the beautiful things that's been happening since I've been on hiatus is yoga teacher training. I started the program in January, and it's been cathartic.
As part of our training, we had to choose a #sankalpa - a vow that speaks to our highest truth. .
Some of my fellow yogis knew immediately, but I stared at the blank worksheet for hours. I meditated. I asked questions. I even broke down in tears. And, my yogis held space for me as I wrestled with my attachment to find an answer - one I felt long before I could articulate it. .
I am living consciously.
Now. Let's #takeitupanotch and see where we flow.
Always smiling when I have a cup of @rhinotofino coffee in my hand. ☕️

It has taken me way too long, but I finally have a website for my photography!!!
After years of building a portfolio and telling everyone to just email me for more information, I can now direct them to an official website! Whooo!
I have no idea why it’s taken me eons to finish this and share it, but I do know that I would not be here without @greenhaveninteractive and the blessed help of @enyaloth . I’m like a chicken lost at sea when it comes to websites, so it’s really a miracle I have one at all!
I do want to say that I still have far to go with this, and there’s probably some glitches here and there, but I had to decide if I was willing to be less than perfect for the world. I could stress over every detail and wait even longer just so that it’s perfect, but I think it’s a lot more authentic to who I am if it’s not! Just like me, it’s a work in progress. And maybe this might give permission to others to show up before perfect, because as we all know, that doesn’t exist, and it’s usually best to have courage to show up anyways!
I love having a place that shows more of my work and style, and to let my personality and story have a place to speak. I can’t wait to watch it grow as I do, and to see where I go with it in the coming years!
If you’ve ever wondered more about who I am, what I do, and what that all looks like, then my website is waiting for you to take a little look!
And if you come across an issue or mistake let me know 😉 it’s less embarrassing if I’m told so I can fix it!
Yay! Happy browsing!!

You have to show up, even if nobody shows up with you.
It’s one thing I’ve learned early on, but it’s still taking me a long time to be okay with. I always thought if it was just me then I was doing something wrong and I needed to stop, adjust and re-align with what everyone else was doing.
And then I learned that when I show up, when I do things that make ME happy it doesn’t matter if nobody else is there (at first!) I’m learning to clap for myself, be proud of myself, show up FOR myself and be happy with doing whatever makes me happy — EVERY TIME!
So don’t slow down or change course just because you’re on the path solo right now - keep showing up and who knows, maybe you’ll have the RIGHT people join you when they’re ready too 💛

Antarctica has so many icebergs that you can’t help but wonder how big they are underwater. Some of them are so huge that it gets scary to think about. This one was small enough so that I could fully capture it underwater. I had to take hundreds of shots to get one in focus and my hands were freeeezing. // #shotoniphone with the @axisgo underwater housing.
No, don’t panic we’re not at the beach. We’re at home in lockdown in Wellington where we should be. But I can’t remember an Easter when we haven’t been to the bach. And I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’m a bit sad about that. Not seeing our family and friends especially. Autumn is my favourite time of year there - (usually) beautiful fine days, cool, crisp nights, the sea, the beach, the birds. Lots of feijoas on the trees to pick for feijoa cake! 😉 Anyway there is no point wallowing in self pity - we’re all in this boat together after all. The sun is shining here, and I can make feijoa cake with some supermarket feijoas and I’m pretty sure it will taste just as good (or bad, depending on how you feel about feijoas! 😉).
It’s no secret that I have been tinkering away at my 2020 release, with its yet to be named drop date.
The benefit to this extended release, is that I have been fortunate in my quest to expand my production abilities. I have some really exciting new things in the works, and although I want to just put it all out there.. I just can’t!
What I can show you, is the beginning of a piece I intend to set a mile marker in my art history with. Easily the most complex digital abstract work I have ever done. I have about 10 hours invested into this already, and I expect to spend 50-70 more on this before it reaches its end and is ready for production.
When all I have is time, this is what happens. 💡 🧠

Life doesn’t go on hold. There is no pause button or suspended animation like a sci-fi movie. I’ve learned this over the last month while i originally felt like i just had to sit here and wait for things to pass. I’m no longer waiting, and embracing the present moment even with these crazy and temporary life parameters. We can only move forward. You can read all of my thoughts on the blog. The link is in my bio. ❤️

There’s not many feelings that can top standing at a summit, looking out and thinking: “holy f*ck I did it”
I had this roll of film sitting in my camera for about a year and a half— I still had a few photos left on it + always thought they had to be saved for something so special and epic... I’m not sure why I had this mentality in my head. .
This was one of the shots on that roll. I don’t know who these two people are— Friends? Lovers? Family? Do they live in Oregon? Out of state? Out of the country? Whoever you are I wish I could give you this photo. .
After getting this roll of film back my whole perspective on film photography has changed. It doesn’t need to be saved for this ONE special moment. It can be saved for all of the moments, especially one as simple as this #35mm#filmisnotdead#grainisgood
I will hold this trip, the memory of the heat on my skin, the stark contrast between the red desert stone and the pockets of green, like sanctuaries across the landscape, close to me until next we may adventure.
Love the emotional benefits for these beautiful oils 🌿

Shrouded by mist and surrounded by lush vegetation and steep escarpments, the sprawling Inca citadel of Machu Picchu lives up to every expectation. In a spectacular location, it’s the most famous archaeological site on the continent, a must for all visitors to Peru. This awe-inspiring ancient city was never revealed to the conquering Spaniards and was virtually forgotten until the early part of the 20th century.
Cusco was once the foremost city of the Inca empire, and is now the undisputed archeological capital of the Americas, as well as the continent’s oldest continuously inhabited city. As the gateway to the ‘lost’ city of the Inca’s, Machu Picchu, the unique combination of colonial and religious splendors are built on the hefty stone foundations of the Inca’s which survives every earthquake.
Coyoacan (Place of Coyotes) was Cortez base after the fall of Tenochtitlan. Urban sprawl has overtaken the outlying village in Mexico City, but it retains its restful identity, with narrow colonial-era streets, cafes and a lively atmosphere. Once home to Leon Trotsky and Frida Kahlo. This iconic coyotes fountain is one of my favorite statues in the world and stands in the heart of Coyoacan at the Jardin Centenario.
Tomorrow is a super moon, the closest to earth and brightest of the full moons this year. Anyone know why it’s called the Super Pink Moon? .

Just a quick ‘Thank You’ to everyone who watched our little story
Like most people that are not on the frontline of this pandemic, I’m feeling very useless so the only thing I can do to help, is follow the rules and carry on doing what I do - telling stories and creating! •
I just wanted to create a little escapism so even if it’s just for 30 mins you can think about something else! •
Also I have heard that Youtubers are donating their advert earnings from a film they upload this Saturday. If I had known about this sooner I would have published this film on Saturday instead! Anyway, I will donate all the earnings from this film - I mean it’s not much at all, as my channel is so tiny but it’s the thought and principle that counts and if bigger YouTubers do it too... we might actually raise some money! •
Anyway, my main goal over the next few months is to keep creating films to provide entertainment •
Stay at home if you can, stay safe and hit me up in the DMs if you need to talk •
