Ain’t that the truth. Today I spent the day with my coaching hat on. Spent the day with a group of fabulous women who showed up, were honest, looked inside, and made steps to feeling better, happier, owning it, and learning a few tools and techniques to a better energy and vibration.
To all those who came well done you are in the road to bad ass-ness! And for those that didn’t know that small steps and wins are what brings success.
How we measure success is different for everyone but happiness is deffo up there for me when measuring.
I am CONSTANTLY using apps and websites to create content and ads for my clients; here are some of my favourites: 💙 CANVA...If I had to choose just one solution for creating content, it would have to be this one. It's soooo much easier to use than the Adobe products and it's much more affordable. Sure, it doesn't do everything you might need for a full graphic design solution, but it's pretty great just the same. 💙 LIGHTROOM (app). I love using the lightroom app for filter presets which give consistency across images. You can create your own preset filters, or: 💙 CREATIVE MARKET is a brilliant website for purchasing presets for Lightroom, and templates for a huge variety of creative ideas. I love this website and I could spend hours checking out all the ideas and designs available to purchase. 💙 VSCO. Another photo editing app, I find this app easy to use, with the editing tools being particularly effective. 💙 REPOST. This app is super easy to use for reposting Instagram content (which I generally recommend you get permission for, first). What I love about this app is that there is an option to download ALL the photos in an Instagram post, which is great for carousel photos you want to share. 💙 FILMORA 9, by Wondershare. This is my favourite video editing solution, best used on your desktop/laptop. 💙 INSHOT is a great app for editing video (or photos), especially if you like the banner top and bottom-style videos. Again, it's a solution that's pretty straightforward to use and with a little bit of practice, you can put together some really effective videos! 💙 REV is the easiest video captioning solution I have found and it's super-affordable too! Simply upload the video and they will create the captions, including with a Facebook ready format!
Which solutions do you love for creating content?

Fun fact about me: I'm OBSESSED with quotes. Whether in the form of a lyric, or short story, or even a line from a book – I've always loved the way others are able to string together words in a way that describes perfectly how I think or feel in a way that I never could. When I was younger, I used to "collect' them. I had all these journals where I'd spend hours after school browsing myspace (LOL) for ones that spoke to me, and I'd write them all down. To this day, @nikita_gill will always be one of my favorites ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What's one of your all-time favorite quotes?
Flying back from Fiji a month ago gave me some time to reflect on the year (and decade!) that was. Not much time, since we were flying with an almost 3-year old, but enough to realise that if I wanted to truly grow my business to a successful, boutique social media and digital marketing agency, I needed to get own my social presence back into shape!
Creating social content for your own business can be sooooo time-consuming, so I'm committing to only 2 posts a week at this stage, to get the ball rolling. My intention is to create a weekly update with information that helps you with your own social media content and ads. It's a win-win, because it also helps me remember how much I've learned along this journey too!
What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?
Everyone’s definition is going to differ, mine however is THIS 👇🏼
To be an entrepreneur means to be brave before you are ready.
To lead, be led and always be humble in knowing there more to know and more to give.
To be an entrepreneur we choose to put Netflix on the side table and pick up a Podcast or Book, instead.
It is about always being an example of what is possible for those coming up behind us, while deeply trusting that IT WILL ALWAYS, ALWAYS WORK OUT.
To be an entrepreneur, we not only see our vision so clearly but we understand time is fleeting and being present is EVERYTHING.
We value living and experiencing the moments and creating memories that will last a lifetime ... over hustling to make a dollar.
To be an entrepreneur, is pure BLISS ✨
What does being an entrepreneur mean to you? 👇🏼

How to maximize your deductibles...and have fun while you do it 🍰
If you are eating out for business, 50% of the cost of your meal is deductible (as long as you do business during the meal). There are a few things to keep in mind - you or an employee need to be there, your current/potential customers, consultants, clients or business contacts should also be there, and it can't be too extravagant (which isn't really defined but see ya Olive Garden 2 for 1)
Keeping track is important, so have a separate account in the chart of accounts and either decide to do the 50% split each time you reconcile or at the end of the year - Just make sure you have a clear plan of this or you could end up reducing too much or not at all.
Double tap if you’re a first-time business owner overwhelmed with trying to navigate where to invest your time and money!🙋🏼♀️There’s so many costs that go into running a business. When I was first started researching what it would take to start a career in freelance, I was SO stressed out by all the things people were telling me I should invest in – the various costs of tools and resources, online courses I should take, start-up costs, etc. Whether you’re just starting out, or have been in business for a while, it can be hard to know where and when to invest your money! Especially for us first-time business owners. So how do you know whether or not it’s the right time to invest in your branding? Here are a few different scenarios of when it might be a good time to hire a designer:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve been in business for a while and know that a rebrand will help grow your business even further, but don’t have the right skills or the time because well, you’re busy running your business!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You went the DIY route (which is totally fine BTW!), but are struggling to bring your brand to life in a consistent way⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re not even sure what your brand IS let alone how to design it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re a product-based business. I’ve heard a lot of people recommend waiting to invest in your brand because we learn a lot when we’re first starting out and this can cause visions and strategy to change, which I would agree with for service-based business. But with a product-based business, your brand plays such a HUGE role when it comes to attracting customers and selling your product, and in a much different way than when selling a service.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While these are just some scenarios in which I would recommend investing in a designer, everyone’s business journey is unique and what might work for one person might not work for another! At the end of the day, you should do what feels right for YOU and where you’re at in your business.

This morning, I watched a @creativemornings talk that James Victore gave. In it he says, "The things that made you weird as a kid make you great today. But only if you put it in your work...The revolution is you. The revolution isn't something you're going to join. It isn't something you're waiting for an invitation for. The revolution is YOU."
SAY IT AGAIN LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 🙌🏻Lean into what makes you different. Not only will you ditch the stress of trying to be like everyone else, but you'll attract the right clients, be more authentic, and will stand out from competitors.
What things do you put into your work that would make the little kid in you proud?

I was planning on being productive this weekend then we ended up making an impromptu trip to ikea to look at kitchens 😬🤷🏼♀️So today I'm working on setting myself up for success this week and taking a tip from @elizabethmccravy. If you haven't listened to hear recent podcast on how to plan out your entire week then you need to go give it a listen!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started by writing out on paper everything I need to do this week so that I can get it all out of my head. Then I added it to my digital calendar, scheduling out how long I thought each task will take. I have to admit, planning out my day hour by hour sounded crazy at first, but rather than starting off my day trying to decide what task I should first, I can just get started!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you plan out your week to help you be more productive?

I’m willing to bet you have at least 1-3 fav insta accounts that you follow consistently. You visit their feed and are just like danggg that’s pretty. Or you see they uploaded a new post or story and you legit get excited to view it. Why is that? 1 – They most likely have a thoughtful, well-designed brand strategy, and 2 – their content is consistent with it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only does a consistently branded feed make for a great first impression, but it helps make your brand memorable and will feel more legit to potential clients. Here are some things you can do to create a feed that feels more consistent, is captivating and converts:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stick to your color palette. Let’s say you’re brand colors are pinks or blues, opt for photos that have pops of pink and blue. If your content is mainly copy-related, implement these as a background or font color.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use photos that accurately represent your brand. If you want your brand to feel light and airy, don’t use moody imagery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use consistent fonts and layouts. If you post a lot of copy-related content, stick to a cohesive set of templates that use the same fonts and layouts. Canva is a great free tool for this.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Utilize tools like Planoly or Plann to organize your content and make sure new posts look consistent.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Share content that your ideal clients will connect with. If your ideal client is a health + wellness enthusiast, make sure that what you’re sharing is mainly health + wellness related. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I wanna know, what are some of the things about your fav insta accounts that MAKE them your favorite? 👇🏻

Happy New Year's Eve! Cheers to a new decade filled with magic, surprises, and big dreams ✨🍾
2 4031 December, 2019
What a year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Just to recap... we went region !!! Which meant walking the stage in Vegas and AAC
I won power promoter for promoting the most amount of DM’s 😍 as an area manager for the year out of the whole of arbonne UK (drop the 🎤) I also earned level 3 AIT and will be off to Mexico in Feb 🍍
We had over 14 new District Managers (7 of whom started their biz ’s this year!) X1 new Area Manager
A lot of amazing new members who have become an integral part of the team 😃
I had so many pictures I couldn’t even choose but here is a little montage
2019 was the warm up to 4 years of hard work. 2020 is going to be massive.
11 2131 December, 2019
This year I got married, officially launched my business, traveled to LA, Mexico, and St. Lucia all for the first time, celebrated countless birthdays, weddings, and wins. Ate some good food, had some good long belly laughs, lost a dear friend. 2019 came with some lows, but they only made the highs that much better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reflecting on this past year and decade, and I feel overwhelmingly blessed with the family, friends, and opportunities I've been given. I feel proud of the hard work that's paid off, and grateful for the support this little community has shown me. They my not be my "most liked," but these little squares are MY highlights nonetheless 😊

One of my goals for this past year was to be better about setting goals 😅 Anyone else struggle with this? I’m a doer at heart, so sitting down and writing out things I want to do FIRST can be hard for me, but it does help me be more productive throughout the year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With the decade coming to an end, it’s a good time to start thinking about what goals you want to set for your business in the upcoming year. Here are some of the things that I’ve found help me when setting goals for myself or business:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re struggling to come up with specific goals, think about where you want to be a year from now, and what milestones you’ll need to achieve to get there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Create goals that make you excited. You’ll be more motivated to work towards them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be specific. You want to build out a team this year? How many team members? What kind of roles do you want to have?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make your goals actionable. Breaking them into smaller goals if they seem too big or overwhelming. For example: If your goal is to build out a team, what do you need to do to hire the first person?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Organize them by priority. What are the goals you need to achieve first? Are there smaller goals you need to accomplish in order to reach bigger ones?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Put a deadline on it. This one is huge for me. If I don’t commit to a date, I’ll often just keep pushing things out. Putting a date on it helps me stay on track throughout the year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Anyone else out there who struggles with goal setting? 🙋🏼♀️ What do you do to help reach them?

My first 12 months were full of free webinars, all the short programs and no one actually calling me out.
I spun my wheels, I spun so hard that I got burnt out and, literally had an emotional break down.
My hubby called TIME and was like, the only was this may work, is if you find yourself again.
So off I went. I hired a Coach and I held tight to her FULL BELIEF in me ... until I could be live in me, for me.
I continued to fail forward.
Knowing that, with every blow, I would get stronger and become more resilient.... and better at my craft.
The one thing I notice the most, coaching online coaches to MORE ...
Is they are NOT leveraging what they truly want their business to be and who they truly are!
Secondly and the point so want to draw your attention to is ... they are also missing a key element of growth .... TROUBLESHOOTING THEIR BUSINESS.
We must be reflecting, refining ... rinsing and repeating.
When we do this, and remove the meaning of our ‘failures’ from who we are as a person .... WE WIN.
So if you haven’t, looked back yet in order to move forward, how can you do this today?

If you had to pick from three fictional characters to describe your personality, who would they be? I think mine would be a mix between Blair Waldorf, Wendy Darling, and Jenna Rink (13 going on 30) – the perfect combination of sass, adventure, and quirkiness. What about you? Who would you be?

Let’s talk planners. Are you a paper or digital planner person? What’s your favorite?
12 12518 December, 2019
Do you have a website you've been tweaking FOREVER? Or a business you've been dreaming up but can't seem to hit the start button? As a recovering perfectionist, I know what it's like to struggle with getting started because I want everything to be perfect from the get-go. This past year, I've pushed myself to follow the @chrislovesjulia mantra: "Don't wait." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't wait til it the "right time," or til you have a new office, or all of the resources and budget, or the perfect plan. Just start, dang it. You can tweak things as you go, and you'll learn more about yourself and your business as you do! "Perfection" is a result of learning as you build and grow over time. There's never going to be that moment where you feel "ready." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking back at this time last year, I was waiting and waiting and making up excuses for why it wasn't the right time to launch my business. I finally decided to just start working on things slowly, and I can't believe how much I've accomplished in the past year!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What's that "thing" you've been making excuses about or putting off? With the new year coming up, it's the perfect time to start something new✨😉
10 6917 December, 2019
Spent the day cleaning and checking off some takes so that I have a fresh start to the week tomorrow, and even got some wrapping done! Rewarding myself with some hot cocoa for a Sunday well spent 😊☕️
9 5116 December, 2019
Happy Friday! Looking forward to a weekend full of Griswold style family parties and my Dad's knock-out cocktails 😋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This time of year always has me in this anxious rush to finish #allthethings and hit any and all goals I have before the new year, while at the same time feeling guilty knowing that I should also relax a bit and enjoy the season. I don't know about you, but in this social media world we live in, I feel like I'm constantly being told to hustle harder, but don't overwork yourself. Your dreams don't work unless you do, but also: SELF CARE. I'm left sitting here like wait, which one? 😂Anyone else with me on this?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I try my best to find a good balance between the hustle and finding time to relax and enjoy the slow moments. I've been pushing myself really hard lately to get my website ready to launch, so this weekend, this #recoveringperfectionist is going to try and put her to-do list aside and just ENJOY the weekend. Maybe do a little ice skating, read a good book, maybe have fun with some Christmas crafts...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are you up to this weekend? Anyone else out there feeling stressed trying to balance it all? 😅

Do you cringe every time you look at your logo? Has your website sat untouched since you first launched it 3 years ago? If so, it might be time to invest in a rebrand. This season is often a period of reflection, where we look back at the past year and evaluate what we can improve on in the new year, ESPECIALLY in our business. It’s a time where we set new goals and are strategic about how we can continue to drive new progress. So how do you know if a rebrand should be included in your business’s new year resolutions?
Your brand/logo no longer excites you. Maybe you’re even embarrassed by it and just instinctively know it’s time for an update.
Your offerings have changed. Maybe you’ve made a pivot in your business, and your brand no longer reflects your new products / services.
The last time you updated your website, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were still together (still not over that TBH).
You’ve reached a plateau in your business and are looking for a way to engage new clients. OR maybe your DIY branding has been helping you get by, but now you need that “it” factor that will engage new clients and help you hit those big goals.
Tell me 👇🏻 What are some goals you have for your business in the new year?
A little work in progress peek at a fun brand design I’m working on! ✨ Happy Friday everyone! What are you up to this weekend?

Have you ever looked at a greeting card design, or the packaging of a product and just immediately felt drawn to it? I just got my shipment of @careof vitamins in the mail yesterday and DANGGG does that packaging spark joy!
Colors play such an important role in your overall brand. They each have their own unique qualities that can evoke certain emotions. Which is why it’s so important to be thoughtful and intentional when selecting a color palette! Here are some of my tips for creating a color palette that works well with your brand:
Try and keep it to 5-6 colors. It helps to have 1-2 main colors (go-to colors for logo, website, print)main, 1-3 neutrals (underlying colors that pull everything together), and a few accent colors (compliment to your main color and can be used as fun accents on your website or in collateral material). *
Try and think of the adjectives / values that accurately describe your brand, and choose colors that represent these. You can google “color theory” if you want to know what adjectives each color represents.
Look for photos that you think represent your brand well or evoke the emotions you’re looking for, and pull colors from those!
I’m really loving the blush/pastel palette trend for Christmas this year, so I used it as inspo for this pretty little palette I created for today’s #hollyjollydesignchallenge 😊

Who knocked out some of their Christmas shopping this weekend (and maybe treated themselves a little too)? 🙋🏼♀️ I’ve always loved the Black Friday rush and shopping for gifts.

Are you ballin' on a budget but still need a professional looking logo? When you're first starting out, spending a lot of money on a designer right away isn't always feasible. BUT you need a logo ASAP, and don't want it to look like a DIY.
Wordmarks – AKA logotypes – are a fast and easy way to create a logo for your brand that still looks clean and professional. This type of logo is a font-based logo that focuses on the business name alone. These are great if you have a website you need to launch quickly (raise your hand if you're trying to hit that end of the year goal 🙋🏼♀️) and don't have the time or budget to build out a full brand just yet.
Today I'm sharing some of my favorite brands that use a logotype - including @goaldiggerpodcast@mcgeeandco and @magnolia - along with some fonts that work great for creating these types of logo. The best part? They're FREE!
SATURDAY, SATURDAY, SATURDAY ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where my Elton John fans at!? Spending the day with friends celebrating a sweet little 1 year old’s birthday 😊️ What are you up to this Saturday?
8 3023 November, 2019
It's about time I did a #fridayintroduction !⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So Hi! I'm Taylor. The one-woman show behind Longmeadow Studio. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my husband, Derek and our two furbabies: Jax and Ellie. We just got married back in July (yay!), so I've slowly been settling back into a routine after all of the craziness of wedding planning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've loved everything about art and design since I was a kid. I used to spend my mornings sitting at the kitchen table learning how to draw by watching Imagination Station (who else remembers that show!? 🙋🏼♀️) In high school, my passion for art developed into a passion for graphic design, and I eventually went off to major in it at Michigan State – GO GREEN!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Right out of college – Like literally the day after I graduated😅– I took a job in the corporate world. I quickly realized that it was not for me. I couldn't find purpose in what I was doing, and I knew that working for a large company was not the dream I had for myself. I wanted my work to impact PEOPLE and help others build out THEIR dreams. So that's why I started Longmeadow Studio! While working in the corporate world, I've seen how much brand identity plays a role in growing a business, and I know this can hold a lot of people back when they're just starting out – I want to help with that! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I'm not designing, I'm either catching up with friends or in full homebody mode cuddling with my dogs. I'm an introverted extrovert, so there's no in-between😂 I also LOVE renovating + decorating our home (ok let's be honest, Derek does the reno), REFUSE to start my day without coffee, and have a talent for starting books and never finishing them 😅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm so excited to share my dream with you, and can't wait to hear about yours! 🧡✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
10 5522 November, 2019
I'm a sucker for a good quote. And man, what a gut check! God has endowed each and every one of us with unique gifts and talents that are meant to be poured out, used and invested. How do you plan on using the ones that have been entrusted to you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just a little reminder on this Thursday: "Life is a precious gift. Don't waste it." 🧡✨

“There is room for you. Nobody can do it with your voice, with your experience, with your insight.” @heychookooloonks
Just a little reminder for you on this hump day to help you stay motivated through the rest of the week!
In the social media world we live in now, it’s so easy to compare yourself to others who are at completely different stages of their journey. I fall into that trap all the time. Just remember: no one can do it the way you can ✨

Anyone else work from home and constantly get distracted by those dishes that have piled up in the sink, or that basket of laundry you haven’t folded? 🙋🏼♀️ Does your brain start running wild between all the stuff you should be focusing on for work and all the tasks that need to get done? SAME. Working from home has its perks, but can also be very distracting! I’m sharing some tips that have helped me stay focused when working from home:
1️⃣ “Batch” your chores. If you know you’re never going to be able to focus on work while that basket of laundry is sitting in the corner, then pick one day or even just a couple of hours to knock out all of your household chores that are distracting you. Going back and forth between work and doing a chore here in there makes it so hard to stay focused on any one task. So take the time to get done what you need to, then devote the rest of the day or week to focusing on work👌🏻
2️⃣ Try and keep your office space tidy. Maybe you have a tight deadline and don’t have time to address your messy house. I’ve been there! I try to keep at least my office tidy, that way if I need to I can just close the door and focus. “Out of sight, out of mind right?” 😅
3️⃣ Take some time on Sunday to get organized so you’re ready to tackle the work week. Write out the list of tasks you need to accomplish, and try and batch them into topics/categories so that you can divvy up your workflow and tackle your tasks in batches. If you haven’t listened to @jennakutcher ‘s podcast episode on batch working, she does a really great job of explaining how to do this!
What about you? What are your best practices for staying focused and on task when working from home?

I want to share with you why I tell my clients that they should build a brand, not just a business. Your business is WHAT you do. It’s the products you sell, the services you offer. Your brand is WHY you do what you do. It’s a reflection of not only what you sell, but the story and passion behind it. Your clients don’t just look for the quality in what you’re selling, but in WHO you are and WHY you’re selling it!
We’ve all heard the saying: “First impressions are everything.” But did you know that it only takes 7 seconds for someone to judge you based on appearance. THAT’S CRAZY. This holds true when it comes to your brand as well. As humans, 90% of the information that gets transmitted to our brains is visual. That means, when a client lands on your website, browses your Instagram, or even walks past a storefront, 90% of their initial perception of your business is based off of what they SEE.
This is why it’s so important to build a brand around your business. Yes, a fancy logo can help you look more polished, but your brand should do more than that. It should create a connection with your customers beyond what you sell and give clients a reason to follow you even before they’re interested in WHAT you’re selling!
Maybe at this point you’re thinking: “But what if I don’t know what my WHY is?” That’s OK! Sometimes it’s hard to verbalize and is the reason why I walk through a discovery process with my clients before I even begin to work on their visual branding. I’ll help you uncover what it is you want your brand to say, and nail down your target audience to make sure it speaks to your ideal client.
If you’re just getting started in your business and are DIYing your brand (because, let’s be honest…budget is usually tight when you’re first starting out), I’m sharing the questionnaire I give to my clients to fill out to help me better understand their business goals and strategy before I ever start sketching out logo designs. Answering these questions helps clarify what you want your brand to embody. Head to the link in my bio to download the questionnaire!

Happy Friday! Where are my hunter wives at? 🙋🏼♀️ Derek’s up north hunting til Monday, so I’m looking forward to a productive weekend and all the Hallmark Christmas movies my little heart desires 😂
Recently, I’ve had a couple different people ask me about how I came up with the name for this freelance business, so I thought I’d share how I landed on Longmeadow Studio.
Longmeadow is actually the name of the street of Derek and I’s first home! Its the place where I first started dreaming up this little studio, and where I realized that I was made for more than where my career was heading in the corporate world.
Landing on this name took me FOREVER though. I’m a perfectionist, and nothing I could come up with ever sounded right. I wanted a name that embodied both where I started, and where I’m heading. One day driving home past my street sign it just stuck out to me!
Places hold so much meaning to me, and no matter where this little business takes me, the name Longmeadow will always serve as a reminder of not just where I started, but WHY ✨ So it seemed like the perfect name to name my business after. Like my girl @mirandalambert says, “I’ve got roots, and I’ve got wings.”
I love hearing the story behind a name! Tell me: how did you come up with your business’ name? Or maybe you’re like me and choosing a name is the hardest part😅
I’ve been all about the slow mornings lately 🙌🏻 ☕️ As part of @theholliscompany#last90days challenge, I’ve been making an effort to wake up an hour earlier than I normally would. Whether I spend that hour working on the things I complain I never have time for, or just enjoying a cup of coffee on the couch with my puppies, it’s made such a difference in my overall attitude throughout the day!
I’ve always been a believer in the idea that habits shape your behaviors, and behaviors shape results. I am NOT a morning person. In the past, I’d sleep in to the last possible second and would always be cranky and in a rush. By changing this one habit, not only do I start my mornings off in a better mood, but my mindset and productivity levels throughout the day have improved significantly.
As the year winds down (seriously can’t believe I’m saying that already 😳), what are you doing to end it on a good note? Rather than waiting til the new year, what habits can you work on right now that will make the rest of 2019 a good one!? 👇🏻

Happy #moodboardmonday ✨ Working on some initial concepts for a project very close to me! Really diggin the idea of a simplistic logo design with pops of color 😍
Saturday Mood brought to you by Jax ✨ Spending the weekend up north visiting family and all the snow has got me craving everything cozy. It’s a good thing I’m not home otherwise I may have been tempted to put some Christmas decorations up 🙊
What are your plans for the weekend?

Happy Friday! I’m back in Michigan, and despite the snow it does feel good to be home.
I’ve been reflecting on this past week and thought I’d share a couple of the key messages I got out of the conference! I walked away with so many good insights but these were some things that really resonated with me. Let me know your thoughts! 👇🏻
Also where my fellow designers who don’t name their layers at? Guilty as charged. 😂🙋🏼♀️

What do you do best? 👑👑👑👑 ⠀
TOOT YOUR HORN BOSS LADY! ⠀
For so many years I was trying to improve the things I’m not great at (not negative vibing but there are many things haha). ⠀
I came to realise the things I am good at and truth be told I’ve started to develop those strengths making them EVEN BETTER! ⠀
When you focus on the positive, I promise you feel better and you make bigger improvements. ⠀
Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that we should not also take in to account our weaknesses and work on them but don’t put them on the top of the priority list. ⠀
Share below your biggest strength 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 ⠀
For me it’s being ORGANISED! #organisedfreak

“A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”
I’m a homebody at heart. There’s nothing that makes me happier than cuddling up on the couch with my husband and puppies. I also hate flying. It gives me the WORST anxiety. BUT, I also know that sometimes you need to step outside of your comfort zone if you want to grow. *
So this week I hopped on a plane by myself and flew across the country because even though it made me uncomfortable, I also knew this week would be full of inspiration and moments that would push me to grow. And you know what? I was right. I gained so much from this week that I would’ve missed out on had I chosen to stay in my cozy little comfort zone. And let’s be honest, the views weren’t all that bad either 😉
Growth and change aren’t easy. There’s obstacles and challenges that hold us back. But often it’s just us getting in our own way. Tell me: Is there something you’ve been wanting to do or build? A trip you’ve been wanting to take? A business you’ve been meaning start? What is that’s holding you back? Drop a comment below! 👇🏻

Our keynote speaker this morning, @shantell_martin , made my jaw drop with this question: “how can you not do something as an adult, that you could as a child?”
Man, that’s a gut check right there. It made me wonder: at what point do we decide we can’t do something? As we get older, society beats it into us that there’s always someone better than us, and at some point we believe that they can do it and we can’t. And that’s just bull.
Creativity belongs to everyone. Not just designers, or artists, photographers, etc. EVERYONE. As kids, we believed that. So why don’t we now?
I often have people say to me: “Man, I wish I had your talent. I don’t have a creative bone in my body,” and I want to scream YES YOU DO! Sure, the way I express my creativity as a designer may look differently than how you would, but I truly believe that everyone has the ability to be creative! Whether it’s elaborately decorating your house for Christmas, or cutting funny faces into your kids sandwiches, or thinking up an entire business...you’ve got the magic✨
So tell me! How do you express your creativity? And don’t you dare tell me that you can’t 😉
I’m in L.A. this week for the @adobemax conference and I’m so excited! I love conferences because they’re alway the creative reset I need, and Adobe Max never disappoints.
I love meeting all the other designers and feeding off of each other’s creativity.
What’s you’re favorite way to reset when your motivation is low and need inspiration?

Here's to a good day! 🤗 I'm a 3rd grade teacher. 👩🏽🏫 I absolutely love what I do & for right now this is where I want and need to be in my life. Have a great day everyone, I am currently in my classroom, getting asked by my students when I'm having a baby... 🙃😒 #canigetmarriedfirst ?
Your “why” better be a good one.
What do I mean by that? The “why” behind pursuing your passion, finishing school, losing weight, working on your relationship, etc must be enough to get you through anything life throws at you.
Because let’s be honest, the closer you get to achieving your goals.. the more curve balls life is going to throw at you.
I always think of it as the ultimate test to see if this is what I really want out of life.
This past August I decided to take a break from YouTube and fully commit to creating my coaching business.
I was so close to achieving my goal and then life happened.... We had to put our cat down, endured out first hurricane, and the passing of loved ones.
Don’t get me wrong, not all curve balls were negative. We also got the cutest puppy ever and had some much needed family visits.
But after all the commotion I realized I needed to get back into starting my coaching business.
Because I want so badly to help others like me; people who are highly functioning but are still suffering. Those who feel like they are destined to create a better life than they are currently living but are not sure where to turn.
Because I want others to know they’re not alone, and we all struggle.
Because I want to create a great life for myself and my family. I hope if I ever have kids I can support them in every way possible, including showing them that anything is possible.
So what is your “why?”
P.S. I’m working on a different avenue for my content creation so stay tuned 🤩
❌❌Saying NO isn’t a bad thing. ❌❌⠀
Sometimes we are saying no for our mental health, our confidence, our respect, our values, our business, our friends, our time, our energy, our well being, our financial position or our own control. ⠀
Don’t feel bad for speaking up and saying No that doesn’t work for me. ⠀
We don’t need to justify why it’s NO, it’s just NO! ⠀
When it comes to my business when I hear NO = New Opportunity!

#ad Did you know small business owners are almost 2X as likely to feel prosperous in their career than a typical 9 to 5? 4 years ago I left a corporate job in digital marketing that was refusing the let me go on maternity leave when my body badly needed it. Since then I have been working from home in the same field and as of 2018, I officially launched my own digital marketing agency, @thesocialmavenagency. Women and even more so, moms, do not have a heavy footprint the digital marketing world and I'm striving to shift those odds. ... I’m proud to say that I am on my way to prosperity by creating a world that empowers women to do the same. @Intuit, the makers of @TurboTax, @Quickbooks and @Mint, believes in #ProsperityForAll , so they surveyed Americans to better understand what prosperity means to us. The results might not be what you expect. (Click the link in my bio to check them out! https://izea.it/aJxQdQ5 ) What does prosperity mean to you? Share your picture using #ProsperityForAll . #ad
