Blind tasting with a Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine of Loire. As with Muscadet, the nose is mild or slightly green/saline-minerality; think as a cooking wine for muscles or pair with simple sheep cheese. Distinguish from Sauvignon Blanc as less aromatic and distinct, but crisp & spritzy. Pale yellow color could also seem like vinho verde. Texture makes muscadet a fun wine to experiment. Could see similar enjoyably with Sauvignon Blanc or Albariño. @loirethecat approves of lighter whites for cooking, but holds his heart close to Sancerre ~
It’s not always desirable to drink a bottle of wine in one setting and can be difficult to maintain an ideal temperature. Check out Albicchiere and start enjoying wine more easily. Link in bio!
Last night's tasting, a huge success as always whenever @tony_giannakis is present.

🇫🇷 Château Lamothe de Haux Côtes De Bordeaux 2014 | Haux, Bordeaux 🍷
A few years back, I opened a 2012 vintage of this same wine and remember quite enjoying it. At the time, it had spent about 4 years in bottle and upon opening, had been decanted for a couple hours. I vaguely recall a medium+ bodied, heady blend of smooth dark fruits, baking spices and well integrated tannins, enjoyed in good company and with delicious food to match. It obviously drove my decision to buy a bottle of the vintage 2014 (in 2017), which I’ve been hanging onto since, with just a bit of mild curiosity. 🤔 My palate has developed and my taste’s changed since then, so let’s see...
A straight forward Bordeaux blend of Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), this estate wine has its roots in the commune of Haux, in which the winemaking Chombart family call home. The chateau and it’s vineyards have belonged to the same family for 4 generations (since 1956), but the foundations, built on a clay-limestone slope, date back to the 1600s. The 80 hectares of vineyards, including those of neighbouring Château Manos (purchased in 1991), are managed by Anne Néel and her children, Maria & Damien Chombart.
On the palate, this is a dry, savoury blend, medium bodied and with fine, dusty tannins. Time in bottle has mellowed the dark fruit flavours, yet blackcurrant and black cherry 🍒 still shine through, complimented by dried herbs, subtle cedar overtones and ever the slightest hint of bitter, dark chocolate 🍫. The finish is a little short and slightly bitter but overall, this is an easy drinking wine that’s probably in (or maybe a touch past) it’s peak. Drink up! 😉

At Le Plonque we love the beautiful Provence! This region in the South East of France is home to fields of Lavender and picturesque villages. Not only is this a popular holiday destination for celebrities (think Saint Tropez) but this Mediterranean climate cultivates great food, wine and culture. A perfect example is the Luberon area famous for its warm climate and producing Rosé like our Domaine Le Novi - Côté Levant. Check out our wines from the South of France on our website.

Red or White Wine?
I tasted 4 different types of @gerardbertrandafrica wine ‘Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé and the Cigalus’. My favourite has to be the Chardonnay as the taste was quite familiar, mildly acidic and it had a crisp finish which their other wines didn’t have.
I also had a chat with their Sommelier and he insisted that Rosé wines aren’t meant to be sweet as their Rosé wine doesn’t have the regular berry and flowery sweetness regular Rosés have and it left me confused cuz, he’s a Sommelier and he knows wine better than regular Joe but, I’ve tasted a ton of quality and big branded Rosés and they were sweet.
That left me asking myself, does that mean all other sweet Rosés are fake?
Wine lovers in the house, I’d love to hear your thoughts please
Beaujolais is part of the Burgundy region in France that produces red wines made of the Gamay grape.
Gamay is often compared to Pinot Noir as the wines are fruit forward with red fruit dominant flavors and high acidity.
Morgon is the cru in Beaujolais with soil that consists of granite and schist with volcanic rock.
Produced by Domaine Marcel Lapierre
This 2018 wine has explosive flavors of violets, pomegranate and juicy cherries, with a tingly long finish that doesn’t lack in structure.
Relaxing by the fire after a great ski day... #fondue was The perfect accompaniment to this French white wine that is a perfect pairing for the mountains!!. 2018 SOLEIL. VENT. ÂME. SÉMILLON
Vin de France "Soleil. Vent. Âme” translates to “Sun. Wind. Soul” and reflects our appreciation for the elements around us, those that impact our lives and make the wine in our glass reflective of where it was made.
Lively and aromatic notes of fresh-cut mango, green papaya, and nectarine are balanced by a subtle salinity and textured frame with a refreshing finish.
