Neith loves the fresh peas, and will run to where they are to grab a handful and pod them while I gather veg.

If you think you don’t like a certain food, make sure you’ve tried it in all its forms before completely writing it off. The taste of canned peas is as awful to me as their dull appearance, and I definitely eat with my eyes. But I will eat fresh or thawed frozen peas all day, every day. I’ll even eat frozen peas gently cooked in a soup or stew, but don’t care for just a bowl of only cooked peas.

Peas please. I love the winter season approaching in Delhi and all the green stuff that is in abundance for the few months ahead. Especially fresh peas😋. Hump day is for pasta! Tonight’s pasta dish is a creamy avocado purée with fresh peas and basil then sprinkled with red pepper flakes! So simple and so good!! Recipe:
1 lb fettuccine
3 ripe avocados peeled and pitted
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lemon juiced
1/2 grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz fresh peas
Place avocados, oil, lemon and cheese in food processor and pulse till smooth. Transfer to large skillet and warm through. Meanwhile cook pasta according to directions and a few minutes before it’s finished add the peas. Drain the pasta and peas reserving 1 cup of pasta water. Add pasta to skillet with avocado purée and toss adding pasta water as needed. Top with fresh basil and chili pepper flakes.😋

Too bad I’m allergic to fresh peas😅 But my kids love them and quite enjoyed this photoshoot. All peas were gone so fast and I wish they could keep their hands still even for a second...☺️

Spankingly fresh homegrown peas and broad beans. From garden to bowl in a matter of minutes. Sweeter than you’d believe possible. Whipped together in a simple sauce of ricotta, prosciutto, lemon zest and mint. Tossed with pasta and a little of the starchy water into a lovely zingy summer carbonara sort of thing. Immensely comforting. Veg garden really in its element now and it’s just sheer joy. Goats and pigs loving the pea and broad bean shells.
