Into the Valley of Fire. Known for its twisting roads through desert rocks, the Valley of Fire state park in Nevada has been the scene of many car commercials. I waited till people were leaving at the end of the day to capture some car trails. With Jennifer King Photography Workshops
Toch? Keep you posted... #fstopgear
As the year draws to a close, I have found myself looking back at my old images.
I know I have posted about this in the past, as a way of checking my continual growth. For me, I am continually looking for ways to grow and pursue different styles and processing steps.
As 2020 creeps ever closer, I have been preparing for the type of content that I want to create. It will continue to be landscape-based, however, I know I really want to include other elements. Whether that be people or different types of objects. It's all about creating new and different content. Pushing the limits.
I'm excited to continue to share this journey with you all!! Steel wool shot = ISO 250 | f/11 | 30 seconds.
Sky shot = ISO 2000 | f/5.6 | 30 seconds.
Don’t forget who you are. You are a fighter.
As the dark in the sky makes the stars shine brighter,
You will find the bad stuff has good bits too.
The bad days are the days that make you you. @mattzhaig
To all those who reach out to their friends who seem to be struggling. To those who’ve done it for me on my darkest days. Thank you 🖤

Summer is still one of my favourite times of the year, backcountry camping under a blanket of stars remains one of my all time favourite things to do when the sky is clear and the Milky Way is glowing strong!! Be sure to slide through this set of three images! #fstopgear#fstopcommunity#fstopphotochallenge#fstopnighttimesky

In this constant pursuit of getting images that speak I still feel that having a back story can provide some context. The short story is that 2 and a half years ago I had a cerebral hemorrhage and I lost all function to my right side. It was the worst case scenario other then death or quadriplegic. But I survived and with tons of support and hard work I am getting back to normal sort of! This photo is a self portrait doing a backpacking overnight trip a week ago to @mtseymour I carried all the gear, tent and camera gear up there, set this shot up on the tripod and ran over to this point, posed and waited for the camera to capture this image! Words can’t come close to saying the feeling I had standing up there! It was a goal! And I made it with my amazing girlfriend Jasmin. If you put your mind to it anything can happen!! #fstopgear#fstopcommunity#fstopphotochallenge#fstopnighttimesky
Milky Way adventuring in Big Sur! ✨
For my first Milky Way experience, Big Sur was not a bad place to start. The joy of seeing the Milky Way in the sky, and then seeing a longer exposure come to life on my LCD screen, cannot be overstated. This was quite literally my first glimpse, as some milk action was just beginning to rise over the Santa Lucia mountains.
Technically, this shot exceeded the proper shutter speed needed to prevent star trails, but I still liked the outcome.
More Milky Way shots of the beautiful Big Sur coastline to come...proper exposure times included. 😉

A wild Canada lynx on the prowl in search of its next meal, which in this case was a mouse. I was fortunate enough to spend an hour with this cat yesterday morning and got to watch it successfully hunt two mice! It also napped for a good portion of the time. Check out my most recent story highlight for a quick behind the scenes look at the shoot! Cropped for Instagram.
A wild Canada lynx on a snowy day in Northwest BC. I found some fresh lynx tracks yesterday and followed them for a bit but wasn’t able to find the cat. So I went back this morning and immediately noticed some new tracks on the road. After following them for a few kilometres I came across the lynx responsible for them! Check out my story highlights for a look at finding and photographing this awesome cat!
