Check out this amazingly easy Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt Parfait (don’t worry I (Britt) haven’t abandoned pumpkin spice for the season, just taking a short break haha).
You guys expressed a lot of interest in super easy and quick nutritious breakfasts! Well lemme tell ya, this breakfast here is ready in 10 minutes or less and is SOOOOO DELISH!
To make this parfait, skin and dice one apple. Heat 1 tbsp of butter or coconut oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the diced apple, 1 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until apple softens and the butter/ brown sugar forms a syrup.
I highly recommend making these apples the night before (idk about you but, mornings for me can be CRAY), you can even make a few apples worth and store in the fridge for the week.
Layer those caramelized cinnamon apples with Greek yogurt and some granola (drizzle with some nut butter if you wanna go all out haha). For this parfait I used @oikos_canada Limited Edition Apple Cinnamon Greek Yogurt and Maple Nut Granola from @bulkbarnfoods.

Vegan Banana Bread 🍌🍌🍌

With all the turkey being eaten this weekend #thanksgiving I figured it was also a great time to post an #animalfree#vegan recipe ✅
I’ve included the recipe below! This banana bread would work as a great preworkout or on the go snack. 💪🏼⛹🏼♀️🏋🏼♀️🏌🏼♂️
It makes about 12 servings: 170 cals , 29g carbs, 4g pro, 5g fat / slice
Vegan Banana bread:
2 medium bananas
1 tbsp Vanilla extract
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup maple syrup
Splash of cashew milk (1tbsp - 1/4 cup depending on consistency)
2 chia eggs (2 tbsp chia seeds, 5 tbsp water- stir and let sit for ~1-3min until thick and gel like)
1/2 cup coconut sugar
2 tbsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
2 tbsp (melted) Coconut oil
2 cups Anita’s sprouted flour
1/4 cup crush walnuts
Bake at 325 with foil for 35 min and without foil for 28-32

My number one tip for people is to consider the serving size at the top before anything else - the serving size is not telling you how much you are “supposed to eat” - it is simply telling you how to do your math.
Once you know your general awareness goals with the label you will better understand how many of those serving sizes fit into the dose you are planning to eat.

After a workout, your muscles resynthesize (repair and grow) at their fastest rate in the 20 minutes immediately following your training, and need nutritional building blocks to recover optimally, AKA carbs and protein !
DID SOMEONE SAY "SNACK TIME"??? ?
Always bring a post-workout snack, and strive to consume it within 20 mins of your last interval in order to maximize the effect of the session .
A good recovery snack following an intense cardio workout will have a 4:1 ratio of carbs:protein. A peanut butter sandwich or chocolate milk does the trick! If you'd rather bring a bar (so easy!), make sure that it has enough carbs - "protein" bars are often quite lacking. Liquids are absorbed faster than solids, one of the reasons why shakes are quite popular. Jess swears by Slim-Fast powder and just adds water at the gym - the perfect carb:protein ratio and very cheap !
After a lifting session, prioritize protein over carbs and consider BCAAs - a specific type of protein which encourages muscle synthesis .
If you are trying to lose weight, don't be tempted to skimp on the post-workout snack as your body needs to heal and grow from the training session, and performance gains are maximized when your body has the proper tools!

I had a honor of speaking at #lumiSummit2019 on Nourishment for the Sensitive Soul. We spoke about many things, one of them being the different messages of food and a different perspective on cravings and how to use them instead of pushing them away. 💥
I also spoke on listening to your body for the right nourishment cues for rest and ironically enough the day after, my body was screaming for rest, via a 2 day migraine- so I didn’t get to soak up the rest of the summit, but how timely of my own body’s message to REST! I’m feeling much better today after 2 full days of rest. 💥
I did however, have my aura photographed and my palm read by the lovely @handfulofstars_readings! Sooo many insights to palmistry and so many dots connected! 💥

Taco 🌮 Tuesday is ➡️ tomorrow. Meaning today is the day to get your ingredients prepped and ready!
•Pork tenderloin x 2 (probably about 2-3 pounds), cubed
•3 pieces of bacon, chopped
•1/2 yellow onion, chopped
•1 clove of garlic, minced
•Juice of 1 orange
•Juice of 1 lime
•1T garlic powder
•1T chili powder
•Salt and pepper to taste
•In a large plastic bag, add the chopped up pork tenderloin and the spices. Shake the bag to cover the pork in the spice mixture.
•Preheat oven to bake at 350.
•In a large sauté pan, over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces and render the fat.
•After about 10minutes, add the pork and brown in the bacon fat.
•After 10ish mins, add the onion and garlic to the pan. Then add the orange and lime juice. Stir and remove brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
•Cover the pan with a lid and place in the oven for about 40 mins.
•At this point the pork will be cooked and the onions and juice will cook down into a thick sauce.
•Enjoy your tacos however you enjoy tacos - with guac, rice, cheese, a tortilla; whatever!

This was lunch the other day and UGH I love potatoes so much. Homemade fries really hit different.
I just chopped up 2 yellow potatoes into fries, tossed in avocado oil with salt, pepper and garlic powder, baked at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes tossing frequently.
No other way to serve than with 3 different types of dip: organic ketchup, pesto and guacamole.

Il rejoint ainsi un vaste mouvement composé de plus de 7 000 lycées et universités prônant la mise en oeuvre d’un plan d’urgence climatique.

Its president has recently chosen to progressively but rapidly dump its investments in fossil fuels. Out of its $84 billion pension and endowment funds, the plan is to convert $13.4 billions by the end of the month while the remaining $70 billion will soon follow. The aim is to achieve climate neutrality by 2025.
It is part of a larger movement of over 7 000 high schools and universities pushing for action to tackle the climate emergency.
