In this upcoming New Year, Bangkok is now ready for an annual creative parade, Bangkok Design Week 2020, in which Shma has been participating since two years ago. Before taking off for the next design, Shma is proudly presented on our creation of pocket green space to Bangkok, looking through our past works in Bangkok Design Week 2019.
The project had started from our concerns on environmental problems of the river in every city in the world. Urban growth, especially for developing countries, somehow lack connections with nature, opposed to how people and community in the past lived depently on river and natural resources, seeing them as their ecological treasure.
The design called Innovative Floating Park has then be proposed as a temporary project. It was inspired by the original Thai raft design, which was mixed up with the modern technology of creating a floating park, aiming to revitalize the Chao Phraya River in a short period of time.

Qudsia Begum was the wife of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah 'Rangeela'. She started her life as a lowly Nautch Girl (dancer) named Udham Bai but eventually became Rangeela's favourite queen and the mother to Ahmad Shah Bahadur. .
She built a small palace surrounded by a pleasure garden near Kashmere gate which had a splendid view of the Yamuna and was also a hunting ground for the Emperor. .
In 1857 while the British were trying to storm through Kashmere gate by shelling Shahjahanabad from outside, the Mughals also retaliated and the marks of the cannons fired by the Mughals can still be seen on the Masjid in the Bagh. Interesting additions by the British to pre existing Mughal structures can be observed here too.

4 CABBAGE TIPS - Easily one of my favorite veggies to grow ever (just look at my profile picture), cabbage is hyper-versatile in the kitchen and pretty darn easy to grow. Here are 4 of my top tips.
𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 - Cabbage prefers temps between 45-75° and a long, cool season to form a beautiful, compact head. That makes it a perfect crop to plant in late summer for a pre-frost fall harvest.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 - To avoid a pathetic or cracked head of cabbage, give it 1-2" of water per week.
𝗣𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦 - Your main pest will be the aptly-named cabbage looper, a white moth with 1 black spot. Scan the underside of your cabbage leaves for little yellowish-green eggs, because they will DECIMATE your foliage in 2-4 days if not kept under control.
𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 - If you're in a lower growing zone, consider cabbage as a fantastic winter gardening option. Many varieties can tolerate temps down to 20°F / -7°C, and will grow well in cold frames or under frost blankets.
