Rape of Persephone by François Girardon in the Colonnade grove of Versailles' gardens. Like some other statues of the domain, the original has been replaced by a copy. Still we can appreciate the genius on the sculptor. 3 figures, 3 angles, 3 faces looking toward different directions. This is a subtil invitation to walk around and enjoy all its details. #Versailles#sculpture#finemarble#gardens#AndreLeNôtre#LouisXIV#TheSunKing#grove fountain

Bienvenue a Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild.
Recognize the last name? Yes, the daughter of THE banker and financier. She married at the age of 19, a wealthy businessman and banker from Russian Mr. Ephrussi. He was 34 but was a close friend to the Rothschild family so the marriage (even with the large age gap) was permitted. Later he would gamble nearly all his fortune. Beatrice widely separated from him before he “ruined “ her (as they said back then). When her father passed, she inherited a large fortune. This was her winter home in Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat.
I’ve been to a few mansions and palatial homes. But, this is the best garden I have EVER seen. A garden is meant to transport you and relax you. She spent a fortune on the gardens. There is a Florentine garden, Japanese, Rose, Exotic (desert plants), stone garden, French garden and the Spanish garden (last pic). #france#cotedazur#saintjeancapferrat#villa#gardens#naturephotography#travel#photography

The DENVER DAISY is a one-of-a-kind flower created and named in honor of the City of Denver's 150th anniversary. Striking dark eyed, long-rayed daisy, hybridized by Benary from the Colorado native Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta). This showy plant commemorates the 150th anniversary of the founding of Denver.
Tips from the pros: Use in the garden border or in container plantings to create a vivid show in late summer/fall. Although it can occasionally come back and bloom a second year, it is best treated as an annual.
