Coffee...let it flow, let it flow, let it flow. ❄️ Stopped into the new location of our favorite local coffee shop @kuppajoycoffee to PERK us up this Christmas season! Because for every hot Hallelujah sold Kuppa Joy is donating a dollar to the Fresno Rescue Mission and that just sparks JOY in my heart. ❤️ So, give into the visions of coffee beans dancing in your head and go treat yourself to your favorite drink and spread some love today! Plus...if you have one of these sidekicks I’m guessing you need to throw back a few lattes a day. Wishing you a whole latte cheer today. #sopunny#kuppajoy http://liketk.it/2I3kg #email@example.com
30 YEARS OF PATIENCE
After my sophomore fall season of cross country, my buddy Scott Paul and I decided we were going to run a marathon. We were both coming off a productive season and thought we were still in decent shape. We even ran one "long run" of 13 miles to get a sense of the distance.
With minimal training and some tips from upperclassman Don Tipping, we entered the San Diego International Marathon on a cool morning in December. He had warned us about drinking Gatorade or eating stuff that might upset our stuff and to stick with water. We went out at a nice pace and stuck with that plan. At about halfway, I wasn't feeling well and fell behind. I ended walking the next mile and decided to disregard Don's advice and start drinking Gatorade and eating whatever anyone offered to me (orange slices and those white and red peppermint candies). I finally started coming back to life, picked up the pace, finally caught up with Scott at mile 24 and then finished strong in 3:34.
While I did take a good amount of time off of running after high school, I always assumed I would run a better marathon if I prepared properly for it. What I didn't know was that it would take me nearly 30 years to do it.
Last month, coming off of productive summer training which incorporated A LOT of low heart rate training and quality recovery runs, I finally did it by a whopping 12 minutes to finish the Surfer's Point Marathon in 3:21.
I was deliriously happy because part of me has been struggling with thinking I'm on the "wrong side" of my peak running years.
I'd like to thank Cassie and Ben at @3planesmovement and @dynamxpt for giving me the tools to help me train smarter, prevent injuries, and maximizing efficiency. I'd also like to thank my wife @jadequon for supporting me and putting up with my obsession.

And here I am Climbing international Mountains outta nowhere 😋 If you knew me before the last 5 months you'd probably have laughed with me saying I'm off to hiking 😅😂
That's how much things changed & definitely for good 😋
Happy International Mountains day y'all 🙌🏼😁
If you choose to have your adventure session on the top of a mountain you get the added bonus of getting some serious exercise! When you get to the summit you’ll want to have a few minutes chillin with your love on some cool rock! As much as I like the satisfaction of summiting a mountain I’m not going to say no to any couples who want to hire a helicopter! We’d have some serious location options if we had a helicopter! This frame is from @nic_erwin & Joe’s sunset session in the Mourne mountains. Such a rad shoot & was great to have @nigelivyfilm filming too. .

Its beauty stirs the imagination, and I wonder if the last refuge of all that is truly wild lies not on earth but in light. ― Ellen Meloy | Running a few laps on my absolute favorite warm up boulder. Photo: @wheelwood
