Why do I run? Its a question often asked of me. Typically asked out of amusement and utter befuddlement. Sometimes its asked as though shamefully, hidden in excuses for why they don't, but they wish they did. Others have burned out and lost the desire and motivation they once had. The one group that never seems to ask though is fellow runners.
We might ask how, or swap stories of when, share our favorite gear, or obsess over course maps and share sweaty hugs. But rarely do we ask why. I think that's because at our core we all know the answer already.
Running is Honest.
There are no shortcuts or magic pills. We love the challenge, we’re always asking how far can I go, can I go faster how fast can I run through Death Valley. The harder the challenge the more we love it because it’s a simple test of honesty. You may fool others, but you can’t fool your body, and running has no sympathy for the liar.
All my kids have been going to the river since they were in the womb but this one especially has spent a lot of time there and yet she’s the most cautious. She’d rather sit by me then get in the cold water.
The last two times though I sensed a change, she went in a little deeper and on her own. She even crossed the river by herself.
Her confidence is growing, and I get to be there and witness it. ♥️

Happy weekend everyone, here’s a beautiful quote I stumbled upon.
“The most important aspect of love is not in giving or the receiving: it’s in the being. When I need love from others, or need to give love to others, I’m caught in an unstable situation. Being in love, rather than giving or taking love, is the only thing that provides stability. Being in love means seeing the Beloved all around me.” — Ram Dass

Your boy, 2007...eating all the berries outside Boiling Springs, PA...what a life altering trip that was...daydreamin’ about the AT...
Becoming more and more grateful that this is literally almost in our backyard! Most major cities don’t have anything like this so close. If you’re looking for a challenging hike, this one would be it! Pretty rocky trail but you don’t have to boulder hop at all. It’s 2.4 miles to the top knoll but if you go all in, we did, it’s closer to 3.0. The further you go the prettier it gets so I highly suggest that you do although there was no water to be found at the top/end. 6 mile round-trip, was awesome! Top elevation, 4200 ft. Now I am off to finish my daily fitness with an awesome modified edition of Lagrees megaformer ab work by Meagan Marcotte. If you want some of the best, if not the best, core/ab exercises go follow her on Instagram while you can get it for free!! @meaganmarcotte@studioremixxlv#redrock#redrockcanyon#redrockhiking#hike#hikers#hikersofinstagram#hiking#getoutside#getoutsideandplay#practiceandalliscoming

Out for a bike getting those Friday night endorphins up! Love time with this beautiful unicorn 🦄 while my little ladybug 🐞 snoozed away in the wagon. Any advice on how to get my 2 1/2 year old to nap? We do quiet time for an hour but she just plays and talks in her room. #familytimeoutdoors#getoutsideandplay#familyfitnessfun#movethoselegs
Day 3 #bnbphotochallenge20
We are grateful every day for our beautiful location across the street from Green Lake Park and its 2.8 mile walking path and water access. Guests can also enjoy our patio and urban garden with tomatoes, blueberries, and other summertime edible flowers and herbs for the picking. We look forward to having guests here again when it’s safe to travel.
I can't get enough of this little boy. Yes, he drives me nuts at times and can definitely be a challenge with his little attitude (no idea where he gets that from...). But he's my lil sour patch kid. He is so funny, so smart, caring and sweet (when he's not being sour lol) and that face and smile just melts this mama's heart on the daily. 🥰
If you don’t work through the shit, you’ll always be stuck in the shit. 💩
Whoops, I said it! 🤪
Are you making the most of this quarantine?
Are you filling up your time with self care, rest? Working on your passions? Or are you filling it up with Netflix? Smoking too much weed and drinking too many white claws?
Will you come out of this rested and rejuvenated?
With a new outlook on life?
Or hungover and in a daze? 💩
Very little is being asked of (a lot) of us during this time. What better time to really dig into the depths of who you are. Into why you act in the ways you do.
It doesn’t have to be some miraculous discovery or transformation.
It’s simple acts like meditating, going on silent walks, or journaling.
Take this time to delve into the depths of your own mind.
It might not be pretty but man will it be worth it.✨
Shoot me a DM if you need some support ❤️ 😘

“Engaging in outdoor exercise activities, such as walking, hiking, running, biking or golfing, but only if appropriate physical distancing practices are used.” - Gov. Ducey’s Stay-At-Home order

If I have to go on one more twatting video call this week... 🤯😂 If someone could conveniently break the internet Mon-Fri that would be lovely. Thanking you.
📸 Cadair Idris last summer ☀️⛰ Photos from my recent Scotland trip will resume shortly, as inside my head I’m still on that trip 🙏🏻
