The new thing isn’t going to come easy - it gets easy by doing it more.
I kept waiting and waiting to start this business until I was in the right place or had the right experience or until I felt like I could convince people that I was the right girl for the job.
Yeah none of those things happened. I literally one day went live on my stories and just had to spill the beans and put it out into the world. Believe me, I wanted to go delete every story but I didn’t let myself. Just putting it out there made it easier. It was one step forward.
If you have that thing that is on your heart that you just keep putting off because you’re scared, or worried what people will think, or you want to wait until you will get better - you need to just take one step forward. Do the thing one time, then another, then another. It will get easier and easier. Will you immediately get the results you want? Probably not. But keep going.
If something is repeatedly on your mind and your heart - God probably put it there. He will equip you every step of the way even if you don’t feel the least bit qualified. You know that saying “he doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called”. That goes for you too. You aren’t exempt.
So go live on social media, start the business, sell the thing, start a local ministry, begin a workout group, start the blog, put your recipes out there to the world. Whatever it is....start! 💛

the biggest thing holding people back from changing their life is that they get
paralyzed by the decision to start.
Maybe you've always had
a book in the back of your mind that you meant to write one day. Maybe you know
if you sit down and write out a business plan for your dream it will start to
take shape. But maybe you aren't 100% sure what you want to do, or if you
really want to do it.
Once you make the
decision, the rest of the journey falls into place piece by piece. It isn't
always easy - but that decision to start has a way of spurring the rest of you

Did you set GOALS for 2020? I hope that you are STILL at it. My prayer for YOU is that you will gain MOMENTUM as you pursue your goals. The word “Momentum" means that EXTRA boost of strength that GOD gives you AFTER you start. Most people want the MOMENTUM in order to get started, but that’s not how it works. Like the shirt says, "It doesn't START until 👉🏼 you 👈🏼 START!" This is part of the reason that I added the “START COLLECTION” to the BRAND. Whether you invest in it or not, let this post be a REMINDER to you to either get STARTED or keep GOING. ✅You’re not too young to START.

From experience, I’ve found only the people who see the thing and the work they are moving towards as a new way of seeing themselves are the ones who make it.⠀

🤔 Do you find yourself contemplating your purpose? Thinking - is this the job I am truly meant to be in?
I know I did. I was in sales roles for over 12 years, regularly thinking - is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? But, I was allowing the years to clock whilst I kept thinking - I want to do something that I’m passionate about⏳
I would be confronted with “where do I start” or “I have no idea what to do” and this seemed to stop me in my tracks and I’d go back to dreading Monday mornings and hanging for Friday afternoons.😫 What I wish I had done sooner was schedule time into my calendar for ME TIME. Time where I could work on my ideal life including work or business, rather than procrastinating on it. .
▶️ Rather than watching TV after work, learn how I could leave my 9-5 to do what I love.
▶️ Rather than spending money on booze and that 2am kebab, hire a coach or pay for that course.
▶️ Rather than listen to music on the way to work, listen to a podcast and learn
What I eventually realised was that scheduling creates the space to start. Even if you don’t have all the answers yet. Just create the time and start. Take action towards the intention.
As Tony Robbins says “If you talk about it, it’s a dream. If you envision it, it’s possible. But if you schedule it, it’s real.” Today, I am so grateful as I have been able to leave my 9-5 grind and design a life that I love and get paid for it :) 🙏

I had to take advantage of this sunny and dry weather today and go for my first outdoor run of the year! 🏃♀️
It was also my longest run of the year (35 minutes) and, to my complete surprise, my fastest pace! Longer runs are supposed to be slower, particularly if you are just starting (or restarting) to run regularly, but I must have had an unexpected spring in my step.

Overwhelm is a two-faced demon that I know well.
First, it tells you that you can't possibly do everything you need to do, you're not good enough, you're not smart enough, you don't have enough time, there's too much and it will never be finished, you're doomed from the start.
Then when it's got you down, it turns around and tells you that you should do more, you should be able to figure it out, you just need the willpower or the energy or the motivation and if they can do it so can you.
It's a kind of fear that can be triggered by anything: workload, finances, cleaning your home, projects at school, relationships, weight loss, whatever.
It can come as a sudden attack, or it can slink around in the back of your mind for days and months on end, like a dangerous animal.
It almost always has the same result: It paralyzes you, and makes you feel like you can never win, and it dropkicks you into wanting to give up.
I've spent a lot of time being overwhelmed, but over the past several years I've gradually pulled myself out from under its weight.
It's not that I don't still feel overwhelmed sometimes - I'm not sure the feeling ever actually goes away - but I've learned how to manage it to the point that it doesn't take over anymore.
I've realize that overwhelm is not inevitable. I have a choice.
Physical activity, meditation, and some strategic quitting have helped a lot. I've also gotten real with what's most important to me and said a fond farewell to the rest. Now I save my attention for what matters most, and though I'm doing less I am WAY HAPPIER than I was before.

Second Innings!!. (Long post alert 😁)
My post today may seem out of context, but when I joined Instagram on 19th November 2019, I dived right in. I did not take time out to introduce myself properly!! .
So here goes!! After almost 20 years in publishing, when your magazines shut shop gradually, and you stand at a cross road, looking to start afresh .... forced to play a second inning.
I've been a widow for over two decades, raised my daughter, got her married. She was the soul purpose of my existence.💞 without her my home and my life seem meaningless.
Now when I face an empty nest, struggling to learn to live my life alone, I find myself wondering how this second inning of my life would be.💁♀️
I dont know, how many of you have felt this, but I feel scared on so many days... cry myself to sleep often 🙇♀️

SELF-DOUBT IS THE ANCHOR ⚓️ THAT KEEPS OUR SHIPS FROM SAILING. . .
Ok, ok!! Today I won’t be so poetic 😇 but instead will give you 3️⃣ tips that will help tremendously decrease your self doubt. Let’s go!
1️⃣ — 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁 𝗔𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 — Reminding yourself that self-doubt is simply here to keep you safe and protect from the humiliation of falling flat on your face will help you overcome the inner dialogue and shift your focus before it gains 🎢 momentum!
2️⃣ — 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁𝘀 — Your doubts are NOT true !! Did you hear it ?? Rather they are fear-fuelled stories you create about who you are, what you’re worth and what you’re capable of achieving. Questioning and demystifying your doubts will help you step back into your power!
3️⃣ — 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗢𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 — By reflecting on other obstacles that you’ve overcome in the past will help you realize that you’re capable of achieving victory and confront your doubt with courage to keep going!
