You may have seen that we are posting pictures this week of women in swimsuits sharing their favorite travel tips. We do this because we want to showcase the brave, smart, beautiful and diverse women who make up the wanderful community. They're also women who can help you with a thing or two about travel.
We also do this because some have said thay no one will accept travel tips from a woman in a bikini. So we are proving them wrong!
This post features @breathedreamgo founder Mariellen Ward. Here's her travel tip:
When traveling in a more traditional culture, like India, it's a good idea to pack a long skirt and a sarong or scarf. You may want to visit a temple, attend a festival, or travel to a remote location where western clothes are not as acceptable. With a long skirt and a scarf to cover your shoulders you can fit in everywhere. But most importantly, pack your confidence. Your confidence will both create a protective shield around you and attract positive energy and experiences. A confident woman is a force of nature!
Mariellen Ward is a Canadian travel journalist who publishes the award-winning travel site Breathedreamgo.com, inspired by her extensive travels across India. She loves to encourage people to live their travel dreams, and is an advocate for responsible travel. Mariellen lives in Rishikesh, where she runs the custom tour company India for Beginners to help people travel to India.
My sweet sweet Inge 💕 what a life we live to be from two separate countries and be able to meet up with each other in a whole other country! Thanks for being such a great friend even miles/kilometers (lol) apart! Love you so much!🌻

Not giving up is so underrated.
It's so f*cking hard.
This was the picture I sent my mum moments after I fractured three vertebrae in my spine on my snowboard a few years ago (sorry mum). I had no idea the extent of my injuries until a few hours after this picture was taken though. I assumed I had pulled some muscles and maybe a ligament in my knee. The hospital even tried to discharge me because they x-rayed the wrong part of my spine 🤦🏻♀️but by that point the adrenaline had fully left my body and I was in agony.
After I had this accident SO MANY people told me to stop snowboarding forever. They literally wanted me to stop doing something that brings me the most joy in the world because there's a chance I could hurt myself or die.
Thankfully, I can be stubborn as hell and I didn't listen. Newsflash: you can hurt your self or die anywhere at any time... what more motivation do you need to chase those moments of absolute joy in your life?
I'm facing similar challenges now. Things are tough. I'm stressed about making my venture a success... but do you know what? The thought of giving up fills me up with even more dread than to just.keep.going.
it’s been a while since I introduced myself and I’ve got a lot of new friends here 🥰
I’m Sara, a dog mom of two sweet doodles, registered nurse, and “holistic hustler” (how cute is this shirt from @loganrandazzo 💛). I started my journey with oils two years ago now, which is crazy how fast time flies. I immediately fell in love with them, saw the potential in the business and haven’t stopped running for it since.
now, instead of in scrubs, you can find me mostly at home cuddling my dogs while drinking a latte or traveling somewhere around the world with my love @marklysak. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity and the community it’s given me (which is something I never knew I needed but I’ve met some amazing lifelong friends). I seriously couldn’t imagine my life without saying yes to this.
anyway, I’m so happy you’re here! what do you hope to see / learn from me and this account? ✨
📸 Statues or sculptures, which are humans’ creations, have quite an impact on the society according to @nyoman_nuarta. The man who was born in Tabanan Bali on further explained that the art of sculpture has three powers: being an icon that is owned by the public, its aesthetic element to entertain the eyes, and being the bond or mark to reminisce a location.
📸 A kebaya is a traditional blouse-dress combination that originated from the court of the Majapahit Kingdom (today Indonesia), and is traditionally worn by women in Indonesia, and also Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei. It is sometimes made from sheer material such as silk, thin cotton or semi-transparent nylon or polyester, adorned with brocade or floral pattern embroidery. A kebaya is usually worn with a sarong, or a batik kain panjang, or other traditional woven garment such as ikat, songket (the one I worn on the picture) with a colorful motif.

Cuba is so much more than just La Habana! (Swipe to see➡️👀)
The country stretches (as you’ve read in my previous posts) 13+ hours from coast to coast so besides the awesome capital the cities outside are super chill too. 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
We were lucky enough to visit Viñales and hang out with in my opinion, the Cuban version of the most interesting man in the world! This tobacco farmer has devoted his entire life to cultivating the finest tobacco which is hand rolled into the famous Cuban Cigars. He not only showed us his tobacco drying & rolling process but also toured us around his farm... a lush green property with mango trees, cocoa trees, coffee bean trees and awesome animals scattered around. 🥭☕️🥃
He even welcomed us in his home for home made fresh coffee and as he said “white coffee” aka a shot of Cuban white Rum! Such a friendly local which was the norm in Viñales as they appreciate visitors as well!
📍TELL ME: Have you ever visited a city that is considered the most popular tourist location in a country but instead preferred another small town or city outside within that country more? My example would be that I defo liked Glasgow more than Edinburgh when it’s Scotland’s main go to destination. Leave yours in the comments below, thanks!
