Selfie Game; Strong 💪📸
I travel solo almost exclusively, and as a result I've become used the awkward looks people give as you leap about in front of a tripod or run as far as the 10 second self timer will allow 😂 I do still feel awkward sometimes, because that's who I am as a human 🙃 But when it results in a shot like this, it's worth it 💥Do you have any questions about solo travel photography? Thinking of answering them all in a blog 😎📸
I recently saw a Facebook "memories" picture and barely recognised myself. ⠀
Body con dress, bleached hair & heels 💅👗👠 ⠀
I hear all the time people wishing they looked like they used to when the were "18", "at university" or just "younger". ⠀
I don't. ⠀
I didn't have a clue who I was. I dressed how I thought I should, acted how those around me acted and I was so oblivious that I never stopped and wondered why I was never attracted to boys the way all my female friends were.🙃 ⠀
Coming out isn't about dressing gay, or acting differently. Queer has as many different looks as there are stars in the sky. ⠀
But there is something that happens when you truly embrace who you are and stop apologising for it or hiding it. ⠀
I don't fully love myself yet. But I do know who I am. ⠀
And I know that happiness and self confidence look better than any dress ever will.😎
What do YOU look for in a city? Skyscrapers? Mountains? Beaches?
For me, it’s the places with variety that I love the most. .
My new blog lists the best cities that have ALL THE ELEMENTS 💦🌱🔥🌀 #WaterEarthFireAir
Visiting Cartagena is like exploring two cities for the price of one. 🏙🌆
A short walk from the ancient buildings and vibrant street art of Centro Historico, is Boca Grande🌊
Which was like Miami but with higher humidity and more hawkers. 🙃
After a relaxing massage we picked up some sate lambing (goat) and trekked back to devil's tears to enjoy lunch with a view. We watched tourists and locals alike scramble right to the edge to get the perfect selfies - at on point a man's shoes were half off the ledge and I wondered if he planned to jump..
Here we are just a few metres around from devils tears at a quieter section of the coast. Beautiful. .
Why is it called devil's tears? When the waves crash into the caves, water blows out in a fine mist sometimes creating a rainbow - the devil's tears apparently!
