There are many places on Earth where you do not necessarily expect to find a copy the Eiffel Tower ... and yet there is not ONE but THREE in Pakistan; Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad!
I personally visited the one in city of Lahore. It’s roughly 80m tall, a quarter of the original sized Eiffel Tower in Paris (and the complete clone in Vegas). Research suggests there’s no specific reason for its construction; though in my perspective, I believe it allows everyone (specially those who can’t afford to travel internationally) a feel of Paris in Pakistan! ... and a bit of London. They have a mini Trafalgar square in Lahore too. See the last picture on this post!
A ship's graveyard has been created by relocating several of the beached fishing boats to a spot five minutes' walk from the Hotel Oybek. Surrounding the town is a crunchy, white top soil of salt and sea shells. The town has a small museum (closed Sunday) with photos and paintings of the Aral's heyday. 📍Muynak, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 📸@the.steinerways
Thought it would be interesting to create a different type of post today - This time featuring some of the information panels I have come across on my visits to sites in Co. Clare.
These panels really do enhance my visits, as they provide historical and architectural insights that I'm not often aware of.
I hope you enjoy this small collection, and click on the hashtags below to see images of a site you'd like to visit in the future!
Ak-Saray Palace is a complex consisting of a large number of buildings: luxurious rooms for receiving guests, inns for famous travelers, multi-storey terraced gardens with pools and fountains for king and his numerous noblemen’s relaxation. Having been
paved with slabs of white marble, courtyards of Ak-Saray reflected its name. Each door was decorated with golden blue and carved patterns 📍Location - Shahrisabz, Uzbekistan, Central Asia. 📸@gregytravel
6 top tips to do when visiting Amsterdam. ⭐Do: a free walking tour or rent a bike
⭐Try: Dutch cheese at the many Amsterdam cheese stores
⭐Buy: tulips from the flower market
⭐Explore: the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum
⭐Learn: at the Anne Frank House
⭐Eat: an authentic dinner at Hap-Hmm
I'd spend a couple of days doing these don't try and cram it all into 1 day relax and enjoy the beautiful city. There is so much more ro do and see.
Start your day on the flower market and buy some beautiful tulips to take home. Once you’ve woken up and smelled the tulips, and hopefully fetched yourself something to eat, the musician recommends that you don’t wander too far from the canals. You could even hop on our optional canal cruise, including wine, cheese and lunch.
Right next to the Rijksmuseum is the van Gogh museum, which has the biggest collection of Van Gogh paintings worldwide.
Uzbek Ceramic Souvenirs
As you travel through the different cities of Uzbekistan, you’ll find that each place has its own style of ceramics. The schools in each region differ from those in other regions, with differences showing up in the colors, designs, shapes, and ceramics techniques. 📍Location-Tashkent, Uzbekistan 📸@sushiboiboi
'Rozenhoedkaai' should come as no surprise that this continues to be one of the most photographed spots in Bruges🇧🇪. I just want to create a picture-perfect postcard of Bruges📸. I think I've got one🙋. If you visit Bruges it is the ideal location to pause for a moment & enjoy one of Bruges' most timeless sceneries🌉
Have you ever been there & if so, what was your favorite spot? I'd love to know about it🤗 •

Samarkand is a cultural treasury of the peoples of the East, with medieval architectural monuments unique in beauty and architectural forms, extant up to date. ... Another important Samarkand sight is Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the luxurious Timurid shrine, where Amir Timur, the dynasty founder himself, rests too. 📍Location-Samarkand, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 📸@klavdinka_malinka
Atualmente eu estou viajando há 3 anos e mais ou menos 1 mês, e o que eu mais ouço é: Noooossa, vc deve ser rica pra viver viajando. 😑🤤 Pra quem me encontra viajando sabe que eu passo a maior parte do tempo trabalhando. **
I am currently traveling for 3 years and a month or so, and what I hear most is: wow, you must be rich to live traveling. 😑🤤 For those who find me traveling know that I spend most of my time working. Apart from some special places I work from 8 to 12 hours a day, EVERY day! I eat bread for lunch, constantly skip meals, count every change, and cry for a discount even to buy water. But I never skip to go anywhere special and always in for a beer if in good company! Many times, life is just a matter of choices and priorities! P.S: miss you Vi 😘😘
