Have a safe weekend y’all! Please take extra precautions for your pets who are afraid of fireworks. Here a few things you can do (thank you @canine_performance!):
1. Mentally and physically exercise your dog before celebrations, whether training or play.
2. Tags should be on your dog’s collar!
3. Your dog’s collar/harness should be tight enough that they can NOT slip out of it.
4. DO NOT OVERLY CODDLE YOUR DOG. THIS WILL REINFORCE THEIR FEAR.
Lastly, acknowledging that keeping your dog safe and accounted for is YOUR responsibility!
To my sweet potato,
Today is an EXTRA special day because you turned ONE! It seemed like just yesterday when you were a baby (you still are though 😅) - not potty trained, not house broken, afraid of birds, insecure, and constantly Velcro (this didn’t change a bit). And now, there’s so much you’ve learned! You know how to sit, especially when there’s treatos, you know down, stay, paw/shake/high five, kisses, spin, speak! You’re part mischief, but a blessing....thank you for being so faithful to me. We’ve been through so much from GI issues, fighting and defeating Giardia, getting bit by another dog, getting hit by a car...but through it all, you’ve always smiled and wagged your tail. I pray for many more years with you, so let’s continue to create more memories and become the goodest Mama’s boy ❤️ Thank you for teaching me so much in such little time! You’ve taught me how to nurture, how to be patient, and most importantly reminded me what love was. You deserve all the pets, belly rubs, kisses, and treatos!
Monday’s at @bondivethospital are always super busy. You’ll usually find me at reception answering the phones and cuddling puppies 🙈
Thankfully I had Humphrey there today to help me out. I needed the break 😂❤️
