There’s a trail that runs between Crested Butte and Aspen with phenomenal views of the Maroon Bells. We hiked a portion of that trail this week to West Maroon Pass for 8+ miles round trip. The views and the wildflowers were the most amazing we’ve seen in this area, and a Top 5 all-time hike for us. The wind at the pass was crazy (notice Sammie’s ears flapping in the wind)! This trail to Aspen is less than 12 miles, which is shocking because it’s a 4-hour drive around the mountains that lie in between. Next year we hope to make the entire hike to Aspen!

Well... we officially have left South Dakota after spending almost 6 unexpected weeks there. We figured we would really like it, but it’s definitely made an impact on us that we’ll keep for a lifetime.
Here are a few captures of the different locations we stayed at and explored while there.
It doesn’t matter if you’re at a private family campground, or are up in the woods in your favorite national park – most of the same simple rules apply.
Camping etiquette becomes even more important as more “newbies” discover camping. Knowing the rules can help you make lifelong friends, instead of instant enemies at a campground. It’s also important that you get the next generation of campers started right, so pass these rules/tips down to the kiddos.
Campers are the friendliest people in the world! Everyone is here to have a good time, so a little respect goes a long way. Here’s some simple tips to follow:
First two weeks of having the camper! 🚋We are so proud of it & truly enjoy putting our time & labor into it. 🤍 So satisfying seeing instant change when making any improvements in it. Week one: Anthony has completely gutted the interior. and taken out three separate cabinets to open it up! Also had to seal off several leaks. Thank God we figured that out in the beginning of the process. Week two: has been lots of taping, cleaning up messes, covering wires, and getting the cabinets ready for paint! (Painting is my FAVORITE) 👏🏼👏🏼 Working on a website & Youtube channel for this little passion of ours. Feel free to ask any questions. We love them! 🤓 #thepamperedcamper

Hey there!👋 I’m taking a quick second to introduce ourselves or to remind you who it is behind our posts.
We are the Klumpps — Anne, Brian, and Skipper. We have lived fulltime in our motorhome since April 2018. We jumped in with both feet selling our house, our sailboat ⛵, and most of the things inside them both to adopt this new lifestyle. While we had both traveled extensively for work and fun, neither of us had lived anywhere other than Michigan.
We love that we get to travel this way. Having your house and your dog 🐶 with you as you explore a new town or a national park is a luxury. Never mind that I made a point to tell Brian on our first date, “I don’t camp.” Eleven years later, here I am living in campgrounds across the country. 😊
“I” am Anne, the author of the posts, photographer 📷 for most of the photos we share, and passionate home cook. I spent 25 years in the wine business before beginning this new chapter in our lives. Add in some years working in the restaurant business before that and I’ve spent a lot of years working in the biz.
My passion for food & beverage didn’t go away when I moved into our house on wheels. I still love to cook & eat good food. I don’t have an elaborate set-up, tons of kitchen equipment, or a storage unit of grills, smokers, and other gadgets, but I make what we have work.
Since the first dinner that I prepared in our motorhome, where I forgot that I only had two burners on my stove and needed 3️⃣, I’ve tried to take into account the limitations and challenges of the lifestyle, including how many dishes I’ll have to wash and how hot it’s going to make our rig.
When I’m not cooking dinner, we explore the local restaurant scene. We especially like to check out craft breweries 🍺. We love sharing our lifestyle, especially as it relates to food and beverage. We hope to inspire you to try new recipes, new restaurants, and new beverages whether you’re living like us or not.
We welcome the opportunity to meet people along the way to share our lifestyle, dinner, or a drink along the way. Until such a time that our paths cross, either again or for the 1st time, we are happy to share with you right here. Cheers! 🥂

Testing out the new camper for a few days!
Brett suggested we look for another camper to reno + flip. Are we crazy? 😂🤷🏼♀️

The day we bought big truck was a crazy day, it all happened pretty fast. LOL I still am in awe over it. We loved our 2017 Ford f350 dually. It took us many miles and to Alaska. 🤗
But since we have a 45 foot #drvfullhouse toyhauler we felt it was a safer way to go since we were at the top of our weight limit before we added anything in the #toyhauler garage. 🙄
Safety is the number one reason we went with an Heavy Duty Truck. These toy haulers weigh a lot already but then you add a "toy" or whatever you deside to put in the garage and they weigh even more. They need a lot of braking power to stop safely. 🛑
Maggie is adjusting just fine, I was worried how she would do. 😁 She gets in and out with a little help. We will do a video of her soon. She has her own little suite. 🐶😂
We have our little smart car now to get around town, boy is it so fun to drive. So much easier to park! 😉
I am not sure this day could have gone any better. 💞
We had a special surprise treat in the morning and then went to get BBQ in downtown St. Louis. Then, we saw the Gateway Arch National Park and Gage got sworn in with his Jr. Ranger Badge. We then rode the St. Louis Ferris wheel and fed the Koi fish at Union Station. Afterward, we ate dinner at Billy G’s restaurant and the food was delish. We then had some custard to top off the day! 🍦
With all that activity, tomorrow might be a chill day before we head to Des Moines, IA on Thursday. 😜
