We make a great pear don't we?? 🍐🍐Our little Davis Orchard is underway!! 👫🌳🌳🌳
One mature apple tree was already here at the house (some type of mac). We planted a redfree and a honeycrisp to go with it! 🍎🍏🍎
But fruit trees were on sale at the nursery... so why not try pears?! The tree had already produced these two pears when we got it! In the spring we'll plant a second one so they'll have healthy cross pollination 🐝🌸
If you've got any fruit tree pruning/watering/growth training tips send them our way!

Nerve plant got me so nerrrrrvous for fall/winter because #seasonaldepression 🍂
🌿Sad but true! Show some love if you’re also sad about the summer ending (depending on your location, that is 😙) 😭
Soil absorption. Only so many nutrients can be available in the soil. Once it’s full - it’s full & your plants won’t absorb any more. By adding Enpika Pro to your growing methods you can increase the absorption and make those nutrients available to feed your gorgeous plants! On left is a seed starter with plain water, and on the right is a seed starter with plain water + Enpika Pro. #grow#greenthumb#garden#organic#backyard#farm#plants#healthy#homegrown
Autumn is upon us and our minds race back to simpler days when we'd sit outside in the tall grass, barefoot, trying desperately to cool down and so we'd cut & eat fresh cane while the juice dripped all down our chins. It was like heaven 🤤
All shrubs are.......When Tyler stops posing and gets back to work this will eventually say all shrubs are now 40-50% off 😂
Come visit our garden center for a huge selection of trees and shrubs alllll on sale starting today at The Barn including shrubs for fall color such as burning bush, chokeberry, smoke bush and more!
Little guy on the bottom is the newest addition from Ikea today. My super fast 5 year old broke my pot a few months back and have been meaning to replace it. The super tall one also from Ikea is about a year old and the one of the left top row I got at a garden center last summer. ❤️🌱🌿🍃 #greenthumb
The view from my desk. I need to install blinds soon but the plants are enjoying the sun they get at the moment ✨
Ma vue à partir de mon bureau. Je vais bientôt mettre des stores mais pour l’instant les plantes sont bien heureuses du soleil qu’elles reçoivent ✨

🕰 We are coming up on passionfruit season, just past the three-year birthday for our most abundant passionfruit vine (we currently have 9 Passiflora Edulis vines!), and almost to the three year mark since putting in our greenhouse - so here is a little before-and-after throwback. To get a full scope of the monster passionfruit vine, watch the video! Yes. That's just one vine 🤯
🌿 Passionfruit can be incredibly aggressive and need to be pruned regularly to keep in check. If not, they can climb and even kill trees! This one is on a trellis that we've added wings to over the years, but we keep it trimmed away from the fence behind it, and out of the pepper tree that it has its sights set on taking over in the frontyard. But look at what a wonderful privacy screen it has created for us from the neighbors! 😍 Plus, all that fruit. #worthit
Yes yes, I hear your interest about growing passionfruit AND our greenhouse, so I will put together an articles about each very soon! 👍🏼📝 Happy Friday Eve! 😘

So so happy with this new (second hands) drinkcart, that I bought for so little moneeeey. 🎉
Carrots anyone? 🥕 This afternoon we harvested a few of our Manpukuji Carrots and by harvest I mean excavate our raised bed to get them out (see my story for the details 😂). After an absolute mission harvesting them, the longest one came in at 67cm! My beds are only 45cm so they put in a solid effort making their way into the ground 😂🌿

♍ #VIRGO the virgin (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22): #SANSEVIERIA . This #succulent goes by many other names including #snakeplant , hemp plant, and #motherinlawstongue . It's a survivor and will put up with haphazard watering, poor light, dust, heat, and dry air. When treated properly--an hour of direct sun every day, low humidity, and a thorough watering every two weeks--sansevieria will grow lush and vigorously and may even produce tall spikes of fragrant, white blossoms. However, it often grows just as well with no direct light, low light, or full sun!

🔸️Garden Poem of the Day🔸️
By Vita Sackville-West
We owned a garden on a hill,
We planted rose and daffodil,
Flowers that English poets sing,
And hoped for glory in the Spring.
We planted yellow hollyhocks,
And humble sweetly-smelling stocks,
And columbine for carnival,
And dreamt of Summer’s festival.
And Autumn not to be outdone
As heiress of the summer sun,
Should doubly wreathe her tawny head
With poppies and with creepers red.
