Meet our #memberofthemonth Chuck! He joined through his insurance program, Silver Sneakers. His initial goal was to increase his upper body strength but he and his coaches decided to incorporate the whole body. Chuck is a runner and usually gets about 7 miles a week and he also plays tennis.
Chuck biggest motivator is quality of life! His advice for all of you is to look qt the cost of a membership or trainer as an investment because hospital, doctor and medical bills exceed the cost and are not worth it. #wordsofthewise

Quality sleep is crucial if you’re trying to lose weight.
Here’s what you could do to go to sleep quicker and stay in deep sleep:
✅Reduce blue light exposure in the evening. This includes phone, tv, computer. .
✅Go to sleep and wake up the same time everyday. ✅Meditate before you go to sleep. This will help you relax and clear your mind. .
✅Take a hot bath. .
✅Optimize your bedroom environment by eliminating external light and noise. .
❌Don’t consume coffee after 3 pm. .
❌Turn off your phone 2 hours before bed. .

One of the most accessible (semi)single-leg squat variations out there is this kickstand box squat.
Unlike the step-up or bulgarian split squat where you'll be tempted to push with the off leg, the kickstand leg is going to be a stabilizer with very little pushing power.
Pull the long leg a little closer as you get the feel for it, and let it get away from you as you find your groove until you're pulling it off the ground altogether.
Working your core?
This is a great exercise that targets your abdominals!
Some people try and just get as many crunches as they can without actually focus on what is being worked ❌
By doing it that way ☝️ you may feel it more in your lower back which isn’t where we are trying to focus on! •Keep it slow and controlled •Bring your rib cage down towards your bellybutton •Once your hands reach just under the top part of your knee lower yourself back down again •Big exhale at the top emptying the lungs and squeezing your abs •Aim for 3 seconds on the way up and 3 seconds on the way down

Finger Addition! ✋🏼+🤙🏼+🤘🏼+✌🏼Partners face each other with hands behind their backs. One player gives the “1, 2, 3, SHOOT” command which signals both players to move their hands in view with any combination of fingers extended. The first player to correctly call out the sum of all fingers extended (any number from 0-20) wins the round. The winner back pedals to their far line while the loser reverse bear crawls to their far line.
