I can almost picture the reaction of two teenage girls when a cute boy walks in 🙈

Thoughts are still with those in the north and east of Australia. Battling tirelessly, fearlessly, humbly for the safety of people and wildlife, protecting property from wildfire. We are bracing for the heatwave set to engulf us at the end of the week. So much fuel in these parts, thanks to a sprinkling of rains over spring. The smidgen of green, we hope, is in our favour right now. As we swelter and the growth dries off...hmmmm, there’s very real concern. All a part of living in Australia, rural or urban, country town, wide open plains or city lights, we are a country of extremes. Stay safe one and all. Sarah x
Dot dot dot for a visit 😜 It’s been 11 days since Royal was born, and we are still staying with my parents in Vernon.
It wasn’t what we intended on doing. We planned on returning home as soon as we could, but this is what I’ve been asking myself: what’s the rush?
We have parents, close, who want to help & support us during this transition. A luxury that a lot of people don’t have. An extra hand with a toddler, a warm meal, or some arms to hand a newborn off to, goes a very, very long way.
Why would we rush away from that? Because it’s what you “should” do, when you’re established adults with your own home? 🙄Whatever. That’s dumb.
If you need help, accept help.
The hardest part through all of this has been the fact that my 2 and a half year old has reverted to sleeping like a newborn. Up 2- 4 times a night. We are already up at all hours doing feeds with our preemie girl Royal, but being woken up by Hava in the precious between feeds hours, is making us go nuts 🤪 I can’t just nurse her back to sleep, and sharing a bed with Havilah is similar to what I imagine sleeping with a jack rabbit is like.
The brief visit home was really good for all of us. It was my first time leaving the house since returning from the hospital (I’m taking this postpartum recovery gig seriously!) and Havilah got to nap in her own bed and play with her favourite toys. Plus we got to introduce Royal to her home and give her, a cozy warm bath in the sink. Check out my stories for some cutie pie pictures!
When we finally go home, (someday this week) it will feel like the real deal. Daniel, Havilah, Royal and me. We will create our new normal. Cleaning, resting, grocery shopping, food prepping, and playing. The thought of it all makes me really excited 😃 ... it also makes me want to take a 28 hour nap 😴
What item in our home makes the Biggest impact when it comes to the health and wellness of our family? Hands down I would Honestly say that it’s our @IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifier. I spoke about it recently, and as we’ve continued to wheel it to various areas of our home we’re more and more amazed by the difference in Air Quality that we tangibly notice with each breath #sponsored
IQAir uses only the safest, healthiest and most effective technology to clean the air. It brings me such comfort knowing that our little ones are taking in pollutant, dust, allergen, toxin free air in the space they call home.
With the holidays just around the corner, the gift of clean air would truly be an amazing choice for not only friends and family - but your own home to! Use code IQAir for 5% off! #IQAir#AirQuality

#ad : Before moving into our new house earlier this year Roger and I decided that it was time to update our bedroom furniture. When we first got married 7.5 years ago we bought a bed frame (that doubled as a dresser and nightstand as it had a large headboard and drawers), mattress, sheets, and some pillows.
After moving it from apartment, to townhouse, and then into the house we renovated we decided not to move all of it with us into the 1 bedroom apartment we lived in for 5 months while completing the build of our new home. Instead, we slept on our mattress, on a stand a few inches off of the ground, and spent some time researching bedroom furniture, mattresses, and pillows.
One of our first purchases for our new home, before we even moved in, was this bedframe, mattress, and cooling pillows. And let me tell you, Roger and I love having cool pillows at night! We've had them for about 7 months now and they are one of our favorite parts about going to sleep at night. So as you can imagine I was so excited to have the opportunity to share with you these Columbia Ice Cooling Pillows from @kohls.
These Columbia pillows are wonderful because they help you sleep cooler and wake up more refreshed. I love them so much I have even decided to gift one next month to a family member who I know would love one too!

Today definitely is full of Sunday vibes✌️I was just telling my husband that I’m sure I should be doing something productive but instead am choosing to recline on the sofa while my kids discover Disney+. I would have loved having access to the whole vault of Disney movies on demand when I was a kid! 🎥🎞📽 I’m sure my client is also reclining in their newly styled living room where the daybed has perfect views of the flaming red Japanese maple out front 🍁
Just leaving this peaceful shelfie here for y'all. Too tired 💤 Nighty night. .

Willow has quite the discerning taste in clothing, but her shoe choice. 🤔😂. Oh, but I love her every fiber. .
Since I received messages from so many of you regarding my last post - learning to simplify and give yourself grace - I wanted to continue the conversation. As I shared, high ideals are wonderful unless they enslave you.
I’m in no way promoting laziness or apathy and I truly believe we need to continually grow in strength of character, but with the onslaught of messages today regarding all things organic and homemade and crafty and perfect, etc, it’s vital that we see our unique limits in each season -without shame- and then set our expectations. .
Otherwise we can easily allow shame to consume us if we feel we can’t measure up, or we may adopt an all-or-nothing philosophy. This mentality shouts that if we can’t bake scones from scratch and we ran out of our salted caramel tea, then we can’t do a poetry tea time. This mentality forgets that store bought maple cookies and milk can also make for an enchanting poetry and story read. If we can’t afford to whisk a child away for one-on-one talks at a diner, this mentality says one-on-one time isn’t possible, rather than considering apple cider on the back porch as another option. .
A big fat yes to being inspired and challenged by others, but guard against unreasonable thoughts of defeat that can easily creep in.
Be free to be who God created you to be. ✨
That’s who the world needs.
Mi raccontate cosa vorrebbero trovare sotto l’albero i vostri bambini? E voi? Perché anche voi valete 🤪[cit.] #mammadalprimosguardo#babbonatale#sorellegrilli

Some joy sparking things today:
Drawings of love left by our neighbour kids, the Christmas tree / mitten garland I started last week, and my leftover greenery crown (now turned Christmas wreath) from yesterday’s Murder Mystery party celebrating one of my best gals birthdays.
Have you ever done a Murder Mystery party?! It was so fun!!
How beautiful is this collaboration with interior designer @thesocialhomestudio for her gorgeous new bnb? We have more coming up together too! Support your local small businesses! Our collaboration create the best magic ✨🧡

Sick kiddos just makes my heart melt. 💔Last night poor Augustin came down with some kind of headache and was up a lot! Thankfully it’s not a stomach bug though - my gag reflux has been so bad with this pregnancy I don’t think I would have been able to handle that. Lots of snuggles, and rest should hopefully do the trick. 🙏🏻

Le coin des plantes 🌿🌿 | Et bouger encore les meubles pour changer un peu de déco 😬🙈 #home
Soooooo happy to have another sunny day in da burgh!! 🤩 I hit two estate sales yesterday so I’m planning to log inventory and shoot as much as I can today once the light is right. This haul is from a few weeks ago , but I’ll probably do a preview of the new shiz in stories later today so keep an eye out!
The beauty of Raku pottery is its simplicity and the raw, earthy shapes and colors. Each piece is unique and has its own personality.⠀
The earthy lattice of this bowl-shaped sculpture is reminiscent of roots or vines. Use it to hold fruit, dinner rolls, or in a place of distinction on a bookshelf.⠀

Эти скелетированные листья мы с Софьей подобрали в лесу. Я не знаю что буду с ними делать, но они прекрасны.
Как прошли ваши выходные?

Putting together a beautiful cheeseboard is an art that I have yet to master.🤔 I have several friends who (justifiably) pride themselves in their amazing displays of charcuterie, olives, artisan cracker and exotic cheeses. Tell me your tips on how I can start to master this art form! 👇 P.S. so inspired by this cheese-shaped cheese board I saw at the @christopherkennedyinc showhouse🧀💛

The people of New Orleans are incredible! First, in the uniform store, the attendant gave Emma a free headband for her first day of school, in between spending 20 mins telling us the history of the store. Secondly, the grocer at our local market gave Emma a banana because "she may be hungry". Today, the man at Trader Joes checkout spent 20 mins talking to me while slooooowly bagging; I counted 7 different people behind me change lanes without blinking. He had so much to say and wanted to know so much about me as well. Before I grabbed my bags he handed me a fresh bouquet of flowers and gave them to me "just because". Not one single human I have met is in a rush. Truly, it is probably laziness, but we don't mind one bit! We ❤️ NOLA.
Happy November, y’all! My favorite season is flying and I’m trying to hold onto every bit of it. Things are really starting to move over at #thebuffaloburrow and I’ve been searching for the last bits of inspiration. Our current home has always been one of my biggest sources of inspiration for the next project. What do I absolutely love living with that I can’t not do again? This photos sums up a lot of things you’ll see as the Burrow comes together:
✨Texture, texture, texture
✨creamy white with warm wood
✨the hood as a “wall” for wreaths, art, etc. (one of my VERY favorite things in this house)
✨And RUST. Rust, rust, rust layered everywhere 🧡🧡🧡 With my favorite blues and greens.
Stay tuned for a walkthrough tour of our sheetrocked house coming Monday morning! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This looks like the perfect bedroom for me to sleep in everyday ✨ (via @blankslatereno)
