Remember why you started in the first place; Trust the process ❤️
When I first starting working out, I failed at being consistent plenty of times until I focused on setting a habit. I had to be realistic with myself and stop constantly chasing the results because that mindset made me extremely frustrated when I wasn’t able to remain consistent. My consistency came when I decided to start small, achievable habits and then build from there.
Focus on establishing a process that you can handle. Once you have accomplished that, add a little more. For example, let’s start by going to the gym 1 time per week, then 2 times per week, then 3 times per week etc. Build the habit first, worry about the results later. Once you build that habit, you can find thousands of ways to improve. Without the habit, every strategy is useless
Let’s set our intention to exercise next week by filling out this sentence:
𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻 [𝗗𝗔𝗬] 𝗮𝘁 [𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗗𝗔𝗬] 𝗮𝘁/𝗶𝗻 [𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘].
Pretty soon you will have established a habit, then that habit will become a lifestyle ❤️

𝕮𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓 Sugar Skull Ladies on a custom cutting board 💀
This cutting board was custom made by a lovely man named Harold that I met at a local market. He was kind enough to leave this untreated so that it would be easier to burn on.
This board is made of oak, cherry, walnut and maple. I recognized the maple straight off. The others I had never burned on and fast discovered a dislike for oak! I did not enjoy its pours though it was manageable. I did however really like burning on the walnut and cherry sections.
Burning 4 different types of wood as 1 piece was a first and good experience. Always conscious of adjusting the heat from one section to the next to ensure the burn stayed even throughout the image. And I was delighted to do sugar skulls again!

FRIDAY FIVE 🖐🏻🏃🏻♂️ I’m a few weeks into doing my Friday 5 challenges, which is a personal challenge to myself to run 5 miles every Friday. I started this challenge because I felt complacent with my cardio routine. I wanted to set a weekly goal to get back on track and hold myself accountable to making running more frequently a priority. Since I started running as an intentional practice in 2012, I’ve come to recognize that running has been so valuable to me in my practice of self-love and self-improvement, and its benefits are wholistic. Nevertheless, I’m human and struggle with prioritizing healthy habits. So in like my mindfulness practice of returning to my breath when my mind starts to wander, I also recognize that need to return to running when my habits begin to stray into staying up late binge watching content. When we get off course, that’s okay as long as we have the awareness to get back on the path we want to be on to achieve our goals. I’m my opinion, that is the essence of being a healthy human.
In addition to challenging myself, I thought it would be fun to also challenge 5 friends to run (or walk, bike, hike, swim, etc.) 5 miles on Friday each week to help promote a community of prioritizing health and wellness. If you have been challenged, please send me your feedback. I started doing it the day of and then the day before (Thursday), but after much consideration of people’s busy schedules, I wanna start sending out my challengers on Monday so you have a week to prioritize when you can get it in. That way you can be intentional about doing it like I’m trying to do as well.
I’m also encouraging you to keep the challenge going by continuing to prioritize getting your 5 miles in every week or as often as you can, and keep growing the community by challenging 5 more people to do it with you.
Can someone please congratulate me?😂😘 I’m pretty pumped that I scored 75 pieces of Olde Staffordshire, English Village for $30 this afternoon! I’m happily scrubbing my Friday night away!😁 Have a great weekend everyone!💙 .
