It’s #transformationtuesday and we have a story to share with you about a TBL pup named Rodin. Spoiler alert: it has a happy ending! Rodin was rescued from the streets of Baja California, Mexico by a good samaritan. He was a stray and he was in terrible shape. Rodin was mangy, malnourished, covered in dirt and fleas, had sustained injuries to his face, and he was skin and bones. Thankfully his rescuer knew of our rescue partner in the area who was able to get him the necessary vet care and provide him with a temporary foster home during rehabilitation. Arrangements were made for Rodin to come to the US in search of his forever home. He arrived at The Barking Lot in good spirits and quickly became a hit at weekend K9rs hikes. He blossomed into a happy, confident, playful, and engaging pup. A little over a month later, his adoption wish came true, and he went home with his new pops this past weekend! Happy tails, sweet boy! #transformation#beforeandafter#streetdog#straynomore#startedfromthebottom#happytails#muttsofinstagram#adoptdontshop#thebarkinglot#rescue#rescuedog 🐾🐶❤️
After spending most of their lives in a kennel, Paula and Tasha have officially gone home. 😭💕
We have learned a lot about these 2 sisters over the past couple of weeks they have been in our care, much of which has broken our hearts. Having lived in a kennel for as long as they have takes a major mental, emotional, and physical toll on a dog. We learned that they are better apart than together, so they can each get the amount of attention they deserve and the support they need to thrive. There was a whole new world waiting for them outside of those chain link walls, and they will definitely need some time to adjust, but that world is theirs now. It took a little longer to find the perfect people to help them, because not just anyone was going to be equipped (or good enough) for these girls. We are really lucky to have found two families who are dedicated to helping them acclimate to life as a cherished family member, with the help of the incredible Justin from @barkbusterssandiego who has offered his services and expertise during their transition. The girls are still the sweetest and silliest gentle giants we’ve ever known, and we are very hopeful that this will be the happily ever after they have waited way too long for. A huge thank you to Tanya at @jaybeeskennels for caring for Paula and Tasha like your own for so long. Thank you to @jenna_finch and @alicia.finch for helping us intercept the girls, forever changing their lives. And thank you to all of our volunteers who have fallen in love with these big babies over the past year. This happy, happy day is dedicated to you. Welcome home, Paula and Tasha! 💚
Things Rylee has been:
1) Afraid of men
2) Afraid of @screwbuharvard2 ONLY when he’s sitting in this particular chair
3) Not a lap dog.
The facts may now show otherwise. (Sound on for hilarious tail-thumping.) (The chair was already wrecked, Rylee didn’t do it.) Check out the snuggly wiggly occasional-lap-dog Rylee and other #adoptable#dogs@sweetpawsrescue!
Stormie, now Bolt is SO happy to have found his forever home! His mom is so in love with him and they’re a match made in heaven 😍🥰.... their first date on Saturday went amazing and today she came back for him so they can live happily ever after! 💖 #HappyTails sweet boy 🐾
Waking up at 4 AM, feeding dogs, going to work, meeting after work. Shitty weather and the last 20km home so damn icy and slippery that that takes you even longer time than the whole 50 km road to work normally does. 17 hours later, finally back home again but the minus degrees has turned to plus and it’s been raining so the snow we got the past days have turned to an hockey rink so the dogtraining I’ve been longing for the whole day is cancelled. Buhuu!
Days like these I’m pretty happy that I’ve learned to accept things that I can’t change. Like with the weather, I can’t change that and there is no use for me to waste a lot of energy on that even if it sucks. I let myself be angry or disappointed for a while but then I have to let it go and try to change focus.
And days like these I’m also really happy over my ability to daydream, I’m a pro on that!😉 Longingfor days like these👆🏻Maybe we need to go and chase some snow on my upcoming free days😅

Today we are featuring some #goodnewstues about the handsome Duke! After the hard work of our vast community to help put the word out about this royal fella, he found his furever home with the Rogers family 💕🏡 As you can see he’s settling in beautifully and is already part of the pack! We want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who liked a post or shared Duke’s story because the first step to finding our dogs their homes is spreading the word. Finally we want to thank Christina Genz who lovingly fostered Duke and helped him make his transition to his forever family. 🐾🐾🐕🐕 As you know we are a foster-based organization and our fosters are the heart and soul. These families are key to our abilities to save dogs. Many folks ask us how they can help and fosters are always in need! If you’re interested in fostering or on the fence and want more information, do not hesitate to reach out! We have several dogs who are waiting to show you all the joys of fostering! And if you want to read more about the benefits of fostering, check out this article:
We love our purrrrrty pawed friends🐱🐾
This is Marley, she turned 5 his July. She was an abandoned kitten , that was found under her owners friends front step. She was (according to the vet) approximately 3 weeks old when found. She was starving, so skinny and infested with worms and fleas. The friend couldn’t keep her, as he had 3 cats already. Her owner agreed to take her in until he could find a family...within hours they fell in love with her and she’s been a part of their family since. They live in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. As you can see, she is soooo comfortable and loves her bed! #happytails#happytailspetproducts#purrfect#happytailsmakesforhappytales#taletuesday
Reunited in Pikeville, NC!
"Arlo went missing by escaping under the gate of the fence in the backyard. He is a skittish dog and gunshots were going off. I came outside to let him in too late, because a couple told me a little dog had just ran across the road into the field. We couldn’t get him back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For a week I constantly searched around my area and neighborhood, posted flyers, posted in lost and found pets Facebook pages, filed reports with shelters and vets along with visiting shelters in person. I also kept a bowl of water on the porch along with his kennel and toys, and I rotated my dirty clothes.
I thought someone stole Arlo because there was no sign of him anywhere. On day 10, I shut everything off and went to bed at 9:30. Shortly after laying in bed I heard a scratching at the front door and his little whiny bark. My heart stopped and I sat up. I heard it again so I got up and opened the front door. He was on the porch steps so I got on the floor and he came running inside. I was in shock.
I would definitely recommend PawBoost because it helps get the word out that your fur baby is missing. So many people shared my post and I am forever grateful because complete strangers cared enough to keep an eye out and so many prayers were sent. My kids and I prayed every night for Arlo to be safe and return home. Our prayers were answered and I thank God everyday."
Spread the good news! Thank you to everyone who shared Arlo's alert and kept an eye out. His family is so happy Arlo came home :)
At roughly one year of age, this unaltered male stray was found in Olive Hill, clearly underweight and in overall poor physical condition. He’s roughly 10 pounds underweight, weighing in at 34 pounds today.
Bing got some bad news at his vet check this afternoon. On the list of internal parasites, Bing can check off: hookworms, whipworms, Lyme disease and heartworm.
His vet bill, not counting neuter, is estimated at just under $700.
Heartworm treatment is not only unpleasant but also requires 6+ weeks of leash walks and cage rest. No fun for a young boy. Sadly, all of this was preventable, starting with spay/neuter, followed by routine and inexpensive vet care and preventatives.
We are asking for help for Bing as our vet bill is already holding at $1000 as we’ve been assisting with a lot of spay/neuter surgeries lately. 🐾
