Hitting the hills before their teammates run a dual meet against Lawrence HS today. Nice win to start the season 1-0. The hill runners will Race Saturday at the MacDougall Invitational at Livingston Park. #Redmenpride#xcracing#harriers
1st Run 🏃🏼♂️ @CambuslangHarriers tonight.
After a shaky introduction, I chose my mindset to go and give me all, leave nothing in tank 🏃🏼♂️🥵💨💨 Anyone who runs will know, dangerous and as you see from my splits, especially when the result is under 7min mile for the 1st of 8 🙈🙈🙈 However enjoyed it right to the last 0.5mile and the hill finish.
Mindset is key 🔑 to achieve goals, effort is a must and perseverance will get you to the line/goal
Buzzing to go back and run with some great focused people in a fun environment 😀
5ish miles tonight. Tonight's club session was in our local park (steep!!), which basically translates to HILLS!! 🌟
Finished off with some core work.
Had a visitor from EA tonight who was observing the club. Had a nice little chat and hopefully she could see all the good things we do.....and share with other clubs, and also help us improve where we need to. So that's very exciting for the club! A very productive evening!

Not long now until the big day! You may be wondering how to fuel up to optimise your performance. Carb loading is a very common practice within endurance communities.
Carbohydrate is your bodies preferred fuel source, especially when it comes to high intensity or long duration (90 minutes +) activity. Fat also takes up a large component of the substrates used for energy during exercise. However, because it takes longer to convert into energy it’s less efficient and lends itself to lower intensity exercise.
So, it makes sense to fuel up on carbohydrates prior to a big race. This will ensure your muscle glycogen (energy) stores are full, therefore giving you a performance boost of ~2-3%.
But how much? When? What type of carbohydrate?
It's a confusing topic! Let me explain the in's and out's of it and point you in the right direction.

7 miles of hill work tonight with the club!
I'm still feeling tired and stressed out but I'm also still running! When I go out, especially with my harrier family, I leave all my woes behind. It's just incredible what exercise (and these wonderful people) can do for your mind. 🌟
We headed out to hilly fields. Yes it was hard, but boy did I love it and somehow I had my mojo tonight. I'm going to refer to these fields as my fields of dreams and head out here for a run when I feel crappy. Didn't get any photos tonight (much to the joy of Matt), apart from my watch I just wanted to be tech free. Oh the piccy is my post run egg on Marmite toast.....YUM! 🌟
Happy Tuesday all. Run happy, be happy 💋
Way to come back from a bad race - have two fantastic ones! •

Now time to get myself healthy for mine and @addison.sd ‘s 100K cycle and the XC season!
I pulled this image to send a client this morning to show location and I fell in love with all her fall pictures again. There is something so special about this girl and I vividly remember sitting on the road w her taking shots of her criss cross applesauce in her new college t shirt wishing I had another hour to work with her. She just makes me want to talk with her and hear her dreams. Her smile is the best and she was up for absolutely anything. I hugged her that day and realized that was it, the last session I would work with her. I grow close to these seniors and then I wanna know all about their futures and what I can do to support them as they flourish!! #harriers#volleyballwarrior#sweet#dimplesfordays#canonphotography#yellowisalwaysagoodidea#covertcreationsphotographydotcom#seniorinspire
Montagu’s Harrier (female) at Devon Farmlands, Gauteng, South Africa.
Connecting with these summer visitors in South Africa can be really tough. I have found them to be extremely skittish, and if they do stick around for photographs it is normally at a considerable distance. This hasn’t stopped me dreaming about getting decent images of them though, and I have been returning to the Devon farmlands for the last 8 years to try and achieve just this.
Eventually, persistence beats resistance, as today that dream came true! #montagusharrier#harriers#dreamscometrue#theflacksphotography#birdsinflight
