Have you spent around an hour shouting at your TV/radio? Me too. So here are my freshly painted flamingos to cheer you up.
I’ve given them a jet wash and a few coat of eco-friendly @frenchicpaint and I’m so pleased with them -swipe for a before picture to see how sad and faded they were after years out in all weathers.
I’m now painting the patio before it gets dirty again, after a mammoth jet wash session earlier. I may not be able to move my arms tomorrow 💪🏻😖 #hastobefrenchic#paintitpink#flamingos#bankholidayweekend
Happy Bank Holiday!
To the wise people in my phone I need your help, I am looking for some nice outdoor rug recommendations please. We have brought our old one back inside and decided to clean it up and use it in the bedroom which leaves the door space looking so bare.
It has been such a beautiful day, i can't argue that we have been blessed with quite a few during lockdown. Tonight we might even pop our @bm_stores fire pit on and enjoy our festoon lights from @sainsburyshome before the other half goes back to work tomorrow 😩
After a week's hard work of cleaning, sanding and painting @shambles181 and I have a new kitchen! (see pic 3 for how it was originally).
Highly recommend @frenchicpaint and thanks to @thelovelyroomco for supplying the paint.
Happy Bank Holiday Monday! ❤️ Who's planning a Frenchic freshen up today, Al Fresco style? @caffeineandcacti spruced up her decking with Frenchic's 'Smudge' from the range (tagged).👆 See our stories for some up-cycled inspiration.
Sorry to bombard you all with Frenchic posts today, but after a ‘day off’ doing loads of admin and general tidying and cleaning I need to catch up.
I get a bit of stick for how I post my stock updates. Ie I post the OUT OF STOCK colours not what I have in stock.
Let’s get this straight. Anyone that has shopped at Fandangle for Frenchic Paint since I became a stockist over three years ago will know that my motto is ‘If Frenchic produce it, then I sell it’. I also have deep anxiety if I don’t have at least 5 of everything on my shelves. Customers who have known me for a while will know that it’s a classed as sport to catch me out with something that’s out of stock.
In normal circumstances I would be able to re order and have any colour back in within a couple of days. Things are different at the moment and we have to accept that.
So, back to the list. I’m not going to change how I write my list. I’m going to rely on the common sense of my followers to scan it to see if what they want is there. Customers that need advice can contact us and we’ll happily suggest alternatives if we can.
The way things are, I wouldn’t be surprised if the list gets longer before it gets shorter again, but it WILL get shorter.
Production is improving but massively increased demand and the logistics of supplying us all is still struggling to keep up - this isn’t just because of the Pandemic! It will improve, the list will get shorter, before too long I’ll be able to say ‘ go on- try and catch me out by asking for a colour I don’t have’ and really mean it.
What are your plans for today. We would normally have gone to the seaside on May Bank Holiday but we re going to put the paddling pool out for the littles and go for a walk this afternoon.
I love to make Elderflower cordial so we might go in search of some Elderflowers too.
All right all right all right...! This is my first before/after photo. Old @ikeauk shoe cabinet given a new life with @frenchicpaint Swanky Pants and Cooper Frensheen. This was a tester for the kitchen, so stay tuned for big updates soon 🤪
First day back at work done since before Lockdown and surprisingly I enjoyed it! Was lovely to catch up with all my colleagues I’m very lucky to work in such a great team. Whilst I was at work my Ikea delivery came including this gorgeous throw (although I am tempted to use it as a tablecloth) I actually brought it for my eldest son’s bedroom. I’m love to redecorate his room it but he likes it the way it is. At least it saves me money and who doesn’t need to save a few pounds at moment...apart from my Ikea delivery, that was essential 😉
Love the early evening sun in the lounge, the sunset is also beautiful. Our house sits higher than the road, we get a much better view up here. I guess this could be one of the reasons I bought the house. It can be a nightmare for tradesmen getting their materials in but apart from that, I quite like the quirkiness of it.
Hope you're all enjoying the long bank holiday weekend.
UPVC DOOR GLOW UP • sooo I painted the door... I did not realise how expensive new doors were and there wasn’t really anything wrong with it but I was fed up of the boring white upvc, so armed with a tin of @frenchicpaint alfresco paint sourced by the amazing @bramleyandwhite I took the plunge and now I have the sage green door of my dreams ✨ now to do the outside!
Today I’m frantically finishing off jobs before going back to work, and I thought I’d show you this chair.
I inherited it 12 years ago from my mum, it was in a state and I chose to have it reupholstered in... cream. 2 kids, 2 cats and 3 dogs later the fabric was so grubby it’s been covered in a throw to hide it away. One day I will get professionally reupholstered again until then, I thought I’d have a play with painting the fabric with Frenchic. And here’s the result. I used Hot As Mustard and Steel Teal for the main body, then did a mix of Hot Lips and Black for the woodwork. I love it.
So how did I do it? I watered down both the Hot as Mustard and the Steel Teal to a 50:50 ratio with water and just slapped it on. It took 2 coats and is a little rough at the moment, but when I get my clear wax in, I’ll apply some which will make the fabric much more supple.
Sometimes people ask me about what colour they should paint things to be more adventurous. My advice is to find something in the room that you love: a cushion, a painting, a lampshade or in my case an Emma Bridgewater plate and match the shades from there. #hastobefrenchic#paintedfurniture#paintedchair#paintedfabric#emmabridgewater#upholstery#upcycledfurniture
Just a reminder that we’re all about sharing kindness in recognition of Mental Health Awareness week this week & there are still a couple of chances to win some Frenchic goodies today or tomorrow over on my Facebook page @vsvintagehome if you’d like to pop over & have a look, you’re very welcome 😊❤️ xx
A random spot of fabric painting today in @frenchicpaint Al Fresco Indoor/Outdoor Range 'Smudge' & 'Swankypants' for my own garden 🖤 just because I was fed-up with seeing the grubby cream cushions that never quite clean up properly.... 😬
DETAIL || Hint, swipe for some cracking transformations. Never had so many Qs sent in on a Live, are we all painting or what?? Is there anything which @frenchic can’t paint... canoes, mopeds, parasols, floor tiles, front doors... I’ve loved looking through the Facebook Forum. As founder & decor force of nature Pam & I discussed on the Live today (now up on my IGTV) paint needs to be FUN! Not a bore, not a chore, fun 😁 It certainly seems that her legion of fans agree 👌🏻😘
I’m so sorry that we didn’t have time to answer all your questions, and I can’t share them either. The way #IGTV now works is to allow large video uploads but simultaneously deleting the interactive content which is such a shame, but what can I do. Hopefully you got a really lovely insight into the brain behind the brand, but more than that, the heart behind it too. Such commitment to bricks and mortar, and real people, have a watch, she’s ace 👌🏻💋
Excuse the bad photos I didn’t get a chance to take some decent ones before it left for @lifestyleemporiumhitchin 🌿 This original 1930’s Art Deco drinks cabinet has been refinished in a deep green with gold leaf details and is now available to purchase when the shop opens 1st June.
