Those who know me know that when it comes to fitness I’ve never really been able to stick at anything. Over the past few years I’ve battled with poor health which has made any form of physical activity that but more of a struggle. That’s why when we went into lockdown in April and I found myself with a lot of time on my hands I took the opportunity to gain my health back.
I started with following @gpushingpastlimits_pt and then went on to complete @courtneydblack 28 day challenge. I also cut all the crap out of my diet. It has been a challenge but I’ve managed to be disciplined and stick at it.
I am now feeling much fitter and healthier. My migraines have decreased massively and my gut health has improved dramatically. I can also see positive changes in my body and progress is happening🙅♀️
I did this for myself because it was well overdue. I hope this inspires someone else to also make a change. I understand not everyone likes seeing body related content on their feed but I wanted to post my achievement as an example of what can actually be done in such a short amount of time. If you swipe left you will see the weeks changes back through to April before I started.
Ever since I turned 40 in April, my body has not been as cooperative as previously!! We have been in serious negotiations for the past several weeks since I suffered a minor calf injury from sprinting too prematurely! Recently, talks surrounding terms and conditions have been going well considering after multiple massages and acupuncture, I was able to jog 3 miles today! The reality is I’m not on my time, but his!! #bottomlineburke #bodynegotiation #feelsgoodtofeelgood #healthiswealth #eversinceiturned40 #funny

🎆Savior of Imam Mahdi says when he comes to Mecca ⚔️What has happened so massive on Ashura in Karbala?
The biggest disaster of history is Martyrdom of Imam Hosein and his faithful companions.
A person who suffered martyrdom with his 72 faithful companion having parched lips, then their head were cut and their body were crushed under horse hooves and their family, wife, childes were took into captivity.
He is the grandchild of the Prophet inviting the world to the peace, justice and goodness. Imam Hosein mentioned that: I never give up oppression.. One of the characteristic of Imam Hosein is that every believer remind him will be sad.
I’ve been running around like crazy and smoothies are such a simple way to:
▪️incorporate your favorite nutrients & powders
▪️sneak greens into your diet
▪️satisfy your sweet tooth
▪️balance your blood sugar
So this all sounds good right?
It is. Unless you’re not digesting it 👎🏼.
Smoothies generally consist of lots of raw powders, leafy greens and fruits.
If your tummy is already vulnerable from eating a shitty diet or consuming your food allergies then these things can actually hurt your stomach and slow down digestion (👋🏼 hello bloating and gas).
👍🏼 The good news is that you can circumvent these digestive woes by chewing your smoothie.
Chewing will signal to your stomach that you’re eating, so it can properly balance your stomach acid and engage enzymes to help break down the food in your smoothie.
How to train yourself to chew instead of sip a smoothie:
▪️Throw your smoothie in a bowl and eat it with a spoon, instead of a straw.
▪️Add some seeds, nuts or granola to your smoothie so you have to chew it.
Reshma are there things you never ever eat!???? What do you restrict? What do you cut out? 🍪🍟🥧
I appreciate this question but I’m always like 🥴 because what works for me might not work for you. I don’t restrict any foods - I have a huge sweet tooth and I’ll eat what I want (in MODERATION!) However I’ve cut out fizzy drinks, cow milk and pork completely if you wanna know! Mainly for skin reasons & then health.
I also very rarely eat cheese 🧀 meat 🍗 and foods high in fat/sugar! But like I said - I never feel guilty for eating something sweet or unhealthy! 😋 I just have extremely high discipline, self control and a great relationship with food! But it comes down to healthy practices and educating yourself. Moral = Balance is key 🔑 & life’s too short to not eat that damn 🍪. But your health is also very important too & for me comes 1st always! Even if in your young days you feel invincible... you’re not! #healthiswealth
Feeling refreshed ✨
I’ve had a few days off after a tough week of training last week and I’m feeling super refreshed! So this is just a little reminder to make sure you’re taking the time off you need, both physically and mentally 💕 My body was definitely telling me I needed to take a break and I was finding that I wasn’t enjoying working out as much as I usually do. I know if I hadn’t taken a couple of days to reset I’d start to feel like exercise was a punishment, rather than something to enjoy 🥰💪🏼
It doesn’t matter what day it is. If you need to take a rest day or a few at the start of the week when you think everyone else is “hustling” then do it! You know your body and mind better than anyone, don’t compare yourself💕
