Happy Friday everyone!
Lots of new faces around here so wanted to take the time to reintroduce myself.. (and share probably the only half decent & semi recent family photo — which makes me realize I need to order Christmas cards...) I’m a mom to 3 kids, who are 11, 10, and 6. My husband got a new position at work back in Feb., so we relocated from MD to VA this past summer. Still not fully settled in. Still doesn’t feel like “home”. And my kids ask weekly, “when are we moving back?”. I grew up in MA, and still go back to my childhood home every summer. Cape cod is a little place I still like to call “home”. For the past 11+ years I was a stay-at-home Mom (despite having a bachelors and masters degree). But now work part time in a local run specialty store - I’ve met some cool people, get to talk about running all day, and access to shoes/gear/etc.
I started running almost 10 years ago but took a break to have a baby and then didn’t pick it back up and take it seriously until 5 years ago. I began playing on a women’s soccer league around the same time and clearly I needed to work on my endurance/speed!
Since then, I’ve crossed dozens of finish lines, ran in all types of temperatures and weather, and several states! The girl who hated running in gym was now paying to run.
I started this running account to keep myself honest and accountable. But now have started following so many others who are motivating and inspiring. It’s like a digital support group :)
