If you haven't picked this up yet, we are kind of like super huge fans of @taylorswift which means July 2020 could not come fast enough (*ahem* lover fest *ahem*). We even worked really hard to get the best opportunity possible to get tickets early by waiting in the presale line yesterday, but were faced with the worst adult reality: money 💵 anyone else feel my pain? Tickets were going so fast, every time we found something we liked, it would disappear like THAT. We always tell our couples at the end of a consultation that wedding photography is a big investment, we know. And we would never make such a big financial decision without having had time to talk to each other about it, pray about it, and at the very least sleep on it. A healthy marriage starts with healthy communication, and we are big advocates for living debt-free and stress-free when it comes to money. So we made the call to wait on tickets for our best friend (in my dreams 😂) because we wanted to really love our seats if we were going to spend that kind of money. Adulting is happening over here, folks.
What about you? How do you make big financial decisions? We're on our way to being debt-free and can't wait to celebrate, so give us some of your best advice below! ...cue the @daveramsey 👇🏻

Aaand just like that I’m 50% booked for 2020.
As always, the most popular months are August, September and October.
As of now, I will only be accepting two more October weddings and one more in September for 2020.
I like to share where I’m at in the booking process because every year I get emails from brides who are disappointed because they didn’t reach out fast enough.
If you already have a date and a venue booked, do not wait to reach out to photographers, florist, makeup and hair artists, videographers etc..
This way every bride can book the vendors of their dreams.
Wanna know a secret obsession and passion of mine? 🤫⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s probably not what you think. (Though Dixie ranks pretty high on that list. 😍🐶)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But nope. It isn’t my adorable fur baby. It’s creating the most amazing family heirlooms for our couples.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I’m going to be really real and raw here.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our mission is to put an end to the divorce statistic.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s to give our #CooneyCouples the love, support, tools, and community to know that they are a part of something real.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Something rare. Something special.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because when our couples are having their hardest days, and they see their wedding album- the one that they lovingly designed while sitting in our living room, they will remember it all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The look on their mom’s face as they saw the photos of them exchanging their vows.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The tears that strolled downs their face as they saw their spouse’s expression from their first look.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The way that they laughed and cried while drinking wine and enjoying charcuterie with those who they love most.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because for us? It doesn’t just end with the photos. It isn’t just about giving our couples a gallery full of editorial worthy images.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s about the marriage that we get love and support. From engagement, to the wedding day, to watching their babies grow.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s about the family that we have created. A family full of couples who want more than just a good marriage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a community of couples want to live so far beyond the status quo. A community of couples who want to show their future children that hard work and dedication can bring a love greater than ever imaginable. Greater than the love stories of Hollywood.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because our #CooneyCouples ? They know that their mission is to not just have a good marriage, but to have a great one. Filled with joy, passion, and best of all? Marriage to their best friend.

Human connection is everything, and the #1 reason I love doing what I do. Reception toasts are one of my favorite times of the day because of the bonds created and strengthened through laughter and tears, sweet memories and hilarious roasts. It also gives me total freedom to tell an artful story and capture those often intense emotions. What is YOUR favorite part of this moment?
So... If you're interested in being inspired to buck against #tradition , to make your own way in love... We'll be here, sharing our #testimony in hopes to honor the God we serve by moving in #faith through each moment.
We are the @blacklovesmiths and we're happy to give God all the glory of our #lovestory ... Thanks in advance for your follows, likes, shares, support, and prayers... We love y'all.
Sent off another gallery to one of our 2020 couples! In 3 days I’ll be celebrating my 3rd anniversary with my special someone in Palm Springs! Excited for a quick getaway as the season starts to wind down. 🥰
You know how I know it’s mid-October? This week, I have an engagement session, two newborn sessions, two family sessions and a WEDDING 🥰 I’m super excited and exhausted just thinking about it! Send all the good vibes (and coffee!!!) ❤️☕️ #mdengagementphotographer#ellicottcity

I’m in love with these sweet wedding moments. We just finished up taking pictures at the old barns across the street @springranchmendocino about to cross back and Hunter held his beautiful brides dress up so it wouldn’t drag across the street. Tennyson’s dress is amazing and so beautiful with lace detail! Look at it! 😍
Everyone keeping warm?! It’s chilly this morning! Im on my 3rd cup of coffee too🤪☕️
Heyyy, it's me. I know it's not #fridayintroductions but I still wanted to post a little hi & hello and also share a tid bit about myself. .
As most of you know who follow me, I am new to the wedding industry. I actually used to be an elementary teacher and gave up a career teaching 2nd grade in my dream district, TVUSD, to stay home and raise my babies. I love and appreciate being home with my kids so much but as all Mamas know, it can also be extremely lonely and hard at times. During this time, I thrived off of planning events. Having a party, shower or anything I could focus my mental energy on that wasn't just diaper rashes, spit up, or other baby stuff gave me so much purpose! The last event I planned before deciding to start my business was my Grandy's memorial. It was huge, and special, and important and had to be just right. After that, I had so much confidence and decided (after a lot of encouragement from friends and family) to make it my business. I started the business license process in July and here I am today.
I can't express how amazing it is to have my skills appreciated so early on. There are so many hugely successful planners out there right now who I know have stood where I am standing and may being reading this thinking, "yep, been there girl." I cannot wait to continue this profession and see where it takes me. They say if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I love doing this, it is HARD WORK, but it makes me so happy and I still get to be with my girls which is everything.

You may have heard that there are certain times of the day that are better for photos and that’s all because of the light!
Golden hour, which is that beautiful time of day just before the sun sets is when you want to shoot if you’re looking for that glorious, golden light in your photos. It’s important to be aware of when the sun is going to set (you can check your weather app to find this out!) so that you have plenty of time to shoot before the light is gone. The early afternoon may sound like a good time for photos schedule-wise, but keep in mind that the light is much harsher at this time because the sun is directly overhead. Early, early morning light can also be magical, so you may want to consider a sunrise session where you arrive at your first location just as the sun starts to rise.
6 years in, 1.5 years of long distance, 1 year living out of a backpack, now 1 year living in Berlin - we got engaged in our 47th country visited together - your love for life and sense of adventure is infectious.
I don’t usually share in detail our travel stories but Chris proposing is a great example of why we love it so much.
We woke up at 5 am to beat the crowds at Petra. We spent 10 hours and walked 10+ miles exploring this amazing ruin site. Absolutely exhausted we met up with our driver to take us to a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum. Chris kept asking about sunset and he insisted we would have plenty of time. •
Along the drive we stopped to feed camels some bread, reversed almost a mile on the highway to try small desert apples, spent 20 minutes at an old steam train stop to try and get what he thought was the perfect “desert titanic shot”. Turning into Wadi Rum, he blasted the Macarena and insisted we all (him included while driving) dance along.
By the time we got to where the truck was picking us up we knew we wouldn’t make it to camp in time for sunset. We were a bit disappointed until we got to climb in the bed of a pickup truck and drive across the desert alone watching the sun setting on the massive red rock formations all around us.
When we got to camp we scrambled to find our own little space to watch the end of the sun setting. Chris kept insisting we should do a timed photo and I of course just wanted to take more of my own pictures. And there after a 13+ hour day of adventure he proposed.
PS... more pics to come with Chris actually in the photo 😂
