Day one: Ascend 4000ft (~400 floors) and meet a lot of cute animals.
Night: Cue in unexpected snow storm in 30°F and 50mph winds that broke a neighbor’s tent poles. Get cozy by squeezing in three people in a two person tent.
Day two: Wait hours in the morning hoping for the fog to clear up. Spoiler: it didn’t. Descend 4000 ft trying not to slip on ice.
Sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. It goes even better! Won the last minute drawing for a permit to hike The Subway at Zion. This trail was excruciatingly difficult and worth every step. I earned every scratch, scrape and bruise that this adventure left with me. 🥰
Hiked Mount Elbert, Colorado’s highest point, on July 8. This hike is a leg burner up and down with about 4300ft elevation gain in just a little more than 4 miles to get to 14.439 ft! Started at 2am and saw a beautiful Colorado mountain sunrise! 🌄
Destination: Salt Lake City (SLC). Easy short hikes in the foothills minutes from downtown offer stunning views like this one I caught while a thunderstorm was rolling in from the west desert at sunset, which created the striking contrast for this photo taken on the Living Room trail. Have you ever been to SLC? What did you like most about your visit? ✈ sixmilesup.com 📷: @six.miles.up | MB
I sat on the couch looking at so many pics that inspired this trip. To be here, in these woods, with my family, my hiking partners, is beyond expression. I've found an energy that seems endless.

My favorite place to be: surrounded by Mother Nature.
Is it just me or does this look like an album cover?😂

Throw-back to my solo birthday trip to the North Shore. 🎉🚐🌊🎉🚐🌊🎉🚐🌊
I saw this beautiful tree while hiking out to Lake Superior from Gooseberry Falls. There are initials carved up and down the entire length of it’s trunk. The romantic in me let out an internal “awwww” as soon as I spotted all of the notations of love that the tree had been adorned with. 🥰☺️🥰☺️🥰☺️🥰☺️🥰

I absolutely adore these little purple wildflowers!
Snagged a quick pic of some today while out on a hike before they succumb to the Minnesota-cold in the months to come.
Be ecstatic no matter what the circumstance you have been given. Chances are it will be much more likely to turn out in your favor. This picture is my perfect example. I ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere and ended up finding and hiking a monument I have wanted to see for years and was gifted gas by the park service for free to get me where I needed to go.
What a magical morning scenery at this beautiful mountain lake in Tyrol! Stay tuned! ⛰️📷😍 #tirol#alps#hike
