"A butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazonian jungle, and subsequently a storm ravages half of Europe." Transformation can often be caused by a simple action; one change, one choice. 14 months ago I made the choice to step on my mat and begin a daily practice of yoga. This has led me down a path I would never have guessed, meeting people I never would have met and experiencing things I never would have thought I'd see. One simple choice to do something new. It amazes me that such a small change, (a mere few hours a day to be exact) could have altered my life and perceptions so much. I never really believed in the butterfly effect but maybe it's true... and yoga was my butterfly. So instead of a typical yoga pose transformation I'd like to share how yoga has transformed me.
Today for the #womenyogatribe they are focusing on self love, and so for me I'd like to spread some love to myself for making that small choice 14 months ago and a lot of love to everyone who has come into my life since. In Yoga, binding refers to any action where one part of the body holds on to another part or when two body parts are intertwined. Binding, when done correctly, allows the body to relax, deepen into a pose, and hold for a longer period of time. When working towards your binds, please feel free to use a strap to bridge the gap! Even if your hands can't quite reach, you will still get all the benefits of the pose. As always, we ask that you do your best to honor your body & practice, and modify however needed.
