• HELLO JULY •
Crazy right!? Over half way through the year and still in very strange times that none of us would have predicted! So much time has passed so quickly this year, but one thing is for sure, this time has been full of love, family & gratitude (with maybe a touch of anxiety and uncertainty thrown in! 🤷🏼♀️) I can’t wait to see what the month brings as we are lucky enough to be able to see more friends and family as we start to forge out a “new normal”. We will be getting the bloody Christmas tree out before we know it!!!!
Are your forty winks feeling just a little too stifling? Our lightweight linen quilt may just be the thing you are missing for a restful nights sleep.
Linen's natural benefits are plentiful, among which are it's breathability and thermoregulating properties - wicking moisture away from the skin and regulating your body temperature to give you a cool night's sleep. Ideal for all seasons, in the winter it feels cosy warm and the summer fresh and cool.
Here we go into a new month! I can’t believe it’s already July, this year had gone by so quick.
June was a full, busy month for us. We had birthday celebrations and lots of changes around the house.
This month we will work mostly in the garden, building the terrace & maybe planting our trees and flowers. I’m still looking to buy a nice dinning table and chairs for our living room & a beautiful big rug, so stay tune for more updates of our home makeover.
A͒f͒t͒e͒l͒l͒e͒n͒.͒.͒......bijna vakantie.
Monday morning and this bedroom is calling my name already! I realized that I probably didn’t give myself enough down time this past weekend.😩
The challenge of time management and personal boundaries has reached its peak for most of us.
Here are a few tips on both to set yourself up for a successful week:
📝Make a list and FOLLOW UP ON THE LIST. We often are master list makers, but how many of you don’t follow up? I know I’ve been guilty of that in the past. These days, I make myself check the list first thing in the morning. Even if it’s the weekend! Knowing what is up ahead helps you pre-plan and even get your head in the right mindset.
🚫Learn to say NO, even to yourself! I’m an Aries and if you know an Aries, they love to DO, DO, DO! It’s fun and invigorating to keep busy creatively! However, personal boundaries start to wane and burn out is a very real thing. Even if you are WFH! In fact dare I say there is more risk of burn out WFH?
🎉TAKE BREAKS! I can’t stress this one enough. Our brains and mental bandwidth are not the same as computers or robots. We aren’t built for hours and hours in from of the computer screen, taking calls and thinking about work. In reality, we often do that very thing! Even if you don’t have an official paying job, you probably are in charge of something. And that requires alot of energy and work. I’ve noticed that every hour to an hour and a half, I need to remind myself to take some sort of mental break. Even if it is changing my environment. I go to my backyard and sit outside. Or I check in on the girls and sneak in a hug or two with Natalie.
As we continue on establishing a day to day routine, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. I am saying this to myself as much as to you, take each moment and stay present. Breath. If you have to re-set yourself every 15 minutes, then do it!
Giving grace is the best thing for yourself and others right now. Love you guys!💕
