SWIPE for some gross before photos 😂🤦🏻♀️➡️➡️➡️
Here is a small glimpse of our kitchen! I don’t have a proper ‘before’ photo as I got the keys, and within hours the kitchen had been ripped out and chucked into the back yard. It was very poorly fitted and came off without much of a fight and I hated the style of it, so this is by far my favourite transformation in the house! 🔨
We only have a tiny kitchen/dining space and we are dreaming of our next home with lots more room, but this is absolutely perfect for us for now! We kept things simple with our choices but we love it! 💜
It was a LOT of work getting a new kitchen fitted, as the whole room needed the plaster blasted off the walls (most of it was horse hair!) and it had to be completely replastered and levelled properly, as well as the kitchen floor chipped away, screed and new flooring laid before we could get the kitchen fitted. It was a good 3 months overall to transform the kitchen, but not bad for this girl organising everything all herself whilst Jack was away with work 😂🙌🏼 #home#homesweethome#homedecor#homerenovation#renovate#beforeandafter#transformation#kitchendesign#kitchen#cottagestyle

The first finished area in the entire house! We still have so many jobs to do and things to finish and the builders still have some bits to finish when they can but wooohooo to a finished bit!!! We did a few more fun things in the house over the weekend like hanging pictures and mirrors and some finishing touches like painting skirting boards (boring!) and it feels good to have a few spots in the house that are looking finished!
Looking at this, I should have done some gardening today. But it was so good to get out today - I left the builders to it in the kitchen and cycled in the sunshine. I’ve come home to a temporary floor in place, and news of botched floor joists 🤦🏼♀️ .
Has anyone else found botch job after botch job whilst doing up their home?! .
What a week!
We had this past week off as we were meant to be in Portugal, but instead, we managed to complete the full demolition! We took down the ceilings, lifted up all the flooring and carpet and cleared away the last of the plaster. We went through over 100 bags of rubble and filled three skips, we are exhausted.... but we are done!! Watching the before videos it’s just unbelievable to see how much work we did.
We will now have a break for a while and officially hand over to the contractors on the 29th. Now all we have to do is shop!! We will start posting images of what we plan for the the final design and inspirations.
Can not wait to start seeing the build, and no longer be covered in black dust!! .

First impressions are key! Entryway revamp. What do y’all think? We created the beautiful custom console table to span the length of the wall while still leaving room for the door swing. We replaced the dated light fixture with a modern farmhouse style pendent light to accent the black legs of the table and the legs of the ottomans. A fresh coat of origami white in a flat finish to cover up the baby blue makes the space crisp and fresh. The addition of the mirror bounces light into the space to make it even brighter.
We’ve been here for going on two years and during that time, most of the art we’ve collected over the years has sat propped against a wall in the corner of the game room, collecting dust. In looking through pics of the house when we first toured it, I saw the former owners had a gallery wall up in what was his den and is now our dining room. That’s when it hit me where I could put everything! In addition, we also hung up a mirror that’s been collecting dust and now the room is so much brighter. It’s not done yet (so much painting in my future), but it feels so much closer to home. .
It's done! Well, I am still on the lookout for a table, but otherwise it's finished. My new office and podcast studio is ready. Look at the homemade sound panels my husband made and put on the walls! I even added a quilt my Aunt made for both beauty's sake and to mute echo sounds.
I am so thankful to my husband for his hard work, and I am loving my new space.💕
P.S. No judging the books on my bookshelf. Some of my good ones are at work, and I am sharing with my husband (that Calculus book is not mine.😉)

THE FIFTH WALL
I'm a little bit in love with the ceiling
I had a bit of a wobble after the first coat went on and felt it made the room look a like a black hole; nothing like my swatch
Took one glance at the expensive paint tubs and knew I had to keep everything crossed rather than run to b&q for more tester pots
The second coat blew me away
So much pigment in these paints it's crazy. So much so that I ended up buying way too much paint in the end and it ain't cheap!
I'm on the hunt now for the perfect ceiling light. I think I'm settled on the style, just figuring out the dimensions
I'm struggling on the perfect white for the walls though
As its a dark room I need a white that brings warmth and brightness. Too brilliant a white and it'll just reflect all the colour and look dark anyway
I’ve never showed this angle of the kitchen because of the sticky black tape on the skylights (no, we still haven’t gotten it off 🙈) but I think it’s still pretty so here goes!

Even though our #ivanhoeproject wasn’t old in age, it definitely needed some love and appropriate design changes. One of the main requirements of our client was to create a more open plan and practical way of living for their family. We did this through the use of a light and bright colour palette and reconfiguring the kitchen layout.

I’ve woken up far too late this morning and now I feel like I’m chasing my tail!! The lie in is always so enjoyable at the time isn’t it? The plan today, get lots of jobs done in the house, including a bit of painting as the hallway window seat and living room shelves are still not finished. I’m desperate to get them complete now, the house is always such a mess when we have some decorating going on and I’m just teetering on the edge of having a tantrum about it 😆 I can only cope with mess for so long 😩 Happy Saturday everyone even if it is a windy one!! 🖤 #utilityroom#greensmoke#farrowandball#scaffoldboardworktops#homerenovation#industville#perrinandrowe
