Autumn is officially coming 🖤🍂 The temptation to light the fire this morning was high, how cold is it!! My feature fireplace, restored back to its old self, surrounded by plants OBVS! 🌱 and Morris wallpaper to seal the deal. 🖤 •
We have stud walls! 🥳
Mike has spent this week putting the front door on and building these walls, we also have the plumber in putting pipes to the sink and bath locations, the kitchen sink and toilet already have their pipes done!
Today I’m ordering T&G for internal walls and the insulation is arriving next week, along with the electricians for first fit... Our plan is to move in ASAP, so once the bathroom and bedroom are finished we will be looking at heading over there! The kitchen isn’t that important as we can’t actually put an oven in anyway as it’s not main residence living!
A classic Aussie side-patio but you can see how updated weatherboard cladding and window refit can lift the feeling of the entire space. 👍 🔨 #BuildItWithBrehar

To know more log on to;
Since we started the renovation we’ve been trying to keep on top of the dust by keeping all the doors shut around the house. Unfortunately this has meant our house plants have been hidden away and quite literally “out of sight, out of mind”.
Twice now we’ve found them with brown and sun burned leaves and not hint of moisture in the soil. Thankfully however we have been able to bring them back to full health ready to eventually be found a permanent home 🌱
So I’ve never actually seen The Brady Bunch, but I was watching HGTV the other night and an episode of A Very Brady Renovation was on and now I have to go and watch the original show.
For context: HGTV bought the original house used for the exterior shots of the Brady house, and they restored the inside (with the help of some of the original actors) to match the studio sets.
Anyway, can you say hellooo 70s interior design goodness! Colour* me obsessed (*acceptable colours include avocado green and harvest gold) — #thebradybunch#1969

Big week for the kitchen. After a hiccup last week the patio doors are going in 🙌🏻 This feels HUGE as we placed the initial order way back in Jan (where did this year go?!). The room is looking tidier and cleaner (relatively) than ever too. Shame about the view of the rubbish tip of a garden 🤣. That’s one of our restored windows on the right, protected from the dust, paint and general carnage until we can unveil it when we’re ready to move in. Next up for the kitchen: fitting the two sash windows, laying the floor, back door being fitted and kitchen install - all before the end of October.

Day 17 #mydailyrenovation
A few hours late posting after spider gate (again) last night, I swear the sods are everywhere! I’ve grown up calling massive spiders ‘Harry’s’ because that’s what my mum has always called them, do you guys have any nicknames for the 8 legged freaks? 🕷
ANYWAY! Not much of a ‘feature’ but one of my favourite things about the house is how open and welcoming our hall is. Maybe not so welcoming right now due to lack of skirting, arcs, doors, holey walls etc but it is spacious and I’m hoping one day will be fit as a really nice entrance hallway. The photos don’t do it justice!
We still have no idea what we’re going to do about flooring nor what colour the walls are going to be, I’m yet to find the perfect inspo and put my twist on it but we want to keep the space lovely, big and bright as it’s the first part of the house people will see, first impressions count right? #beautifyingblenheim
We are about to seal over the top of the slab downstairs so I thought I’d take the opportunity to get a little creative & leave our mark.
The thought of someone (or some robot on his hovercraft) discovering this scene in a few decades time just warms my heart.
Brought the dining table to the kitchen to see if having a table would work in here, and I think it does. What do you guys think? @dunelmuk kindly gifted me this Dinnerware from their amazing Apartment collection which sets off our table perfectly.
We are currently at @heathrow_airport waiting to board our flight to Singapore 🇸🇬 have a lovely weekend all.

I’d have another 😬😂 Mike keeps playing the “I’m old” and “I’d like to retire before I die” cards 🙄 Growing up I always said I wanted four kids... then I had kids 😳 and said two was good enough 😆 then Vivi was the BEST bonus baby ever and now in the thick of quite possibly the busiest season of my life I feel like I could totally throw another baby beast into the mix and be cool. I mean, we’d never leave the house but I’m a homebody now, so that’s fine. 🤷🏼♀️ Who needs sunlight? Not I. I’d just be a stay at home mom who has the skin tone of printing paper, who never leaves the house, posts on Instagram and has conversations with herself all day. I’m not even kidding about the conversations- I never knew that I did this until I started being mic’d for the show I’m filming. I talk to myself non-stop and the audio guy and producer can hear the conversation and it’s pretty embarrassing and I may be mentally unstable but that’s an entirely different post in itself 🤗 Actually, NO. Let’s discuss this- do you talk to yourself?! Like, a full blown 2-3 person conversation?! IS THIS THE “MOTHER’S ILLNESS”?! 🧐 Please tell me I’m not alone. *I mean, even if I am alone in this, it’s cool. I’ll just talk to myself. Totes comfortable with it. 👍🏼 This post took a crazy turn. 😂 #typical .

A house move to go down in history, if I told you everything that’s gone on, you actually wouldn’t believe me BUT today was the day we officially moved into our new home 🏡❤️ Mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted but SO very grateful. The past 5 and a half years of absolute sheer hard work and determination have lead to this moment of reaching our ultimate goal - of moving into a family forever home for our little gang. If you know me well, you know this is EVERYTHING to me and more - it’s so much more than what anyone can imagine and it’s not something I can put into words right now.
Lately I’ve been struggling with how to respond to unkind or thoughtless comments made on my IG feed, most often left as messages on my #beforeandafter pictures, and sometimes sent as DM’s. I’ve talked to y’all about it on here more than once. Some people said to just ignore it, but these projects are deeply personal to me, and 100% of them are someone’s new home, or homes of family or close friends. I feel like a healthy IG etiquette should require kindness, understanding, and a willingness to give the benefit of the doubt. For example, I am posting only one tiny snapshot of an entire house, so when I get criticized or have profanity sent to me that I’m doing something wrong, I wonder how that person knows that without ever having stepped foot in that house, or seen the entire panorama of the room?? So I’ve been incredibly thankful to sweet @jennykomenda for taking the huge amount of time and energy it took to lay down the law when it comes to comments and questions left for design feeds. Please take a minute to read through her post today, and understand why I have deleted some comments that have been left on here, and why I will continue to do so. It’s not because I can’t handle criticism- I was an art major in college and there were LOTS of group critiques over lots of years. It’s more about being able to feel good and wholesome about spending time away from other things in order to hopefully give y’all some ideas and inspiration for your projects. I absolutely love being able to come and be present and answer questions, and try to comment and make friends with all of you! Let’s all Be Nice. 🤗🤗 PS. I’m still happy to answer any genuine questions you have, so don’t be shy!! Just ask them as if we were talking face to face and we’ll be good! 😘
