The expressions on this four-faced sculpture closely mimic mine lately. 🙃 Hope everyone is having a lovely Memorial Day weekend!
I promise I’ll get back to posting DIY soon but I couldn’t resist sharing this shot of the newly hand painted sign at our coffee shop. It was painstakingly painted by @hermeticsignco. He’s kind of a sign painting legend around Margate. I think we’re official now. 😬 😁☕️
One could argue that linens are the single best investment in a master bedroom, and I would tend to agree.
In case you missed it, we recently shared where to invest and where to save in your master bedroom. Link in bio for quick access!

I’m in the middle of designing 3 kitchens for our projects and so far I’ve been loving these! When designing a kitchen, design for function and style. Each kitchen serves a different function for everyone, but it’s purpose is pretty much the same, to cook in and storage space. Since everyone is different, each and every kitchen is also different :)
I hope everyone is having a beautiful sunny Sunday!

Matchy-matchy is not a rule we abide by. In our Encino Project, we created several conversation spots that feel cohesive yet layered and eclectic in their design.

In early 2019 my marriage fell apart unexpectedly and my life was completely upended. I couldn’t think further than two hours at a time. Eat breakfast. Get changed. Go to work. I didn’t know it then, but it became a journey in what I now call: “The Next Right Thing”. TNRT for short.
TNRT was small sometimes- brush my teeth. Go for a walk. Call a friend who would let me cry.
TNRT was also some big, hairy, messy decisions. Walk away from a marriage and friendships. Move back home. Live with mom and dad for a while. Stop taking design clients. It wasn’t about thinking 10 years down the road- it was literal survival- it was making the best possible decision, right then, with the information I had.
I’m a planner. I like control and having a map for where I’m going. I love routine and avoid change. The universe had other plans.
One year after moving back to Pittsburgh, I’m still practicing TNRT. Buy the house in Sharpsburg, spend time with friends and family, take down the plaster on my wall, change out the light fixture, make my bed each morning, start working with clients again. I’m starting to think and dream about the next ten years- which is exciting- but TNRT is still my mantra. It’s still what I lean on in both certain and uncertain times.
Maybe we are all doing that for ourselves a little right now. Go out to the store. Wear the mask. Visit with friends in the backyard.
When I’m really present, when I’m only focused on TNRT, I feel so damn grateful. I live in a home that I love. In a neighborhood that I adore. Friends and family that are kind, funny, talented, and compassionate. Some who I see in person, some on FaceTime or Zoom but all still contributing to my life in ways I can’t quite put into words.
When I start thinking about life post Covid, I feel a little woozy. What will travel look like? How about concerts? Will I ever stay in a hotel again? It’s a good, sobering reminder to just focus on TNRT. Because there’s lots of good happening right now. So much of it.
Enjoying the view in between showings at 3709 Wellington! As always loved with @odinandfridayhomestaging to execute my vision for this Spanish beauty!

Woven materials add so much texture and warmth to spaces. We love adding this coastal material in our Hamptons homes.

After three hours of painstakingly hanging this removable wallpaper on ONE wall - my husband has now vowed to start a voucher system for home improvement projects. Once I’ve used up my vouchers, I have to hire someone else to do whatever is left on my list - fair enough 🤪 And our dog Buddy was ZERO help. .
No os engaño, hace como un año que tengo los listones y el espejo para hacer este diy ...🙄 hoy ha sido el gran dia 😂 también os pasa?? tambien os digo que ya que estaba he hecho alguna cosita mas, ya os enseñaré 😬
Feliz semana ❤️

✨$5 DIY DECOR PIECES✨ restyled my console with those fun decorative objects I made with wind twisters I got from the dollar store. .

Our exterior renovation started out with a lot of saving and a lot of sketching. I can't believe we are 99% finished...really, sometimes I have to pinch myself. The goal was to modernize the exterior of our 1989 home on a limited budget. Later this week, I will explain how we achieved our goal (this exterior reno cost us about the same as a mid range kitchen reno). But, for now, I just want to enjoy just how far our home has come. Swipe left for the before and see story highlights 'Exterior Reno' for the process 🙌🏼😄.

One thing we learnt from visiting @kettlesyard and from listening to @matt_gibberd and @rosaliapark in the first episode of @themodernhouse podcast: try hanging pictures at the height at which your most likely to look at them most of the time. Also, don’t make it float in the middle of a wall but try to put them closer to existing elements (e.g. furniture...)
Our team freestyled this look for an in store photoshoot yesterday and I think they knocked it out of the park?? 😍 Everything is available on @ldshoppe and oh, btw, we haven’t forgotten our American friends! We’re launching another long weekend sale this weekend. Use code MEMORIALDAYSALE for 15% off sitewide! 🙌🏻

Do you call it a nightstand or bedside table? I usually go with nightstand, although I think I occasionally say bedside stand! 😆🤷🏻♀️ This drawer on my nightstand could have been my secret hiding place, apparently my kids didn’t know it had a drawer, when my son asked where something was I told him to check the drawer and he said, “there’s a drawer??”. 😂 Now I’m mad I gave away the secret! We shared how we made this nightstand, secret drawer & all 😉, on the blog, so click on over for the details!
