From kitchen to playroom/ snug! The aga was moved from this room into what is now our kitchen, the chimney breast was opened to allow for the wood burner, the bricks were restored, the ceiling was taken down and repaired, a moulding of the original coving which was badly damaged was taken and we had it remade to the original design, the window was replaced using the original weights in the sash window box, the shutters were dipped to remove the years and years of paint, they were then restored and repainted, a cast iron radiator was placed in this room as previously there was just the aga used to heat the room, the wall where the photos are was taken back as far as the original wooden slates and restored due to the wall starting to cave in and finally the floor boards were sanded back and restored. One room and so much work 😉 the work was always worth it! #renovation#renovationproject#georgianproperty#housetohome#livingnorth#northeasthome#housebythesea#renovationlife#renovationinspo#snug#playroom#oldhouselove#oldhouse#oldhouserenovation#wemovedoutforayear

This little part of my house looks tidy so I took a picture of it.
The rest of the house is upside down. David started painting the boys bedroom today and we didn't quite get it all finished tonight. So they went to bed with furniture everywhere and curtains on the top bunk and ended up having a sleepover in the bottom bunk.
Day 9 & 10 #mydailyrenovation
KERB APPEAL & TOP TIP
This is the kind of kerb appeal I’m talking about! The hustle & bustle of all the vans trying to squeeze down the close much to our neighbours’ dismay 🙃
Throwing it back to the summer months when it was all systems go to get the house in a somewhat liveable state ready for us to move in after we gutted all the rooms bar main bathroom and kitchen.
Everything was busy and hectic but I loved it. I miss it so much now that progress has slowed and things have quietened down and I’m really trying to take on board my own top tip - don’t expect to be 100mph the entire time. It’s not always possible for a number of factors; money, mental and physical will, relying on tradesman, day to day life! It’s amazing how we adapt to our surroundings and can adjust to living in a partly finished house. The house will always be there but life has a mind of it’s own, just roll with it and enjoy the process! #beautifyingblenheim

Holy Moses we’ve got plaster!! Popped to the house today and found that the plasterers have got cracking in the utility room... as well as boarding out the en suite ceiling.
There’s also a load of blue bonding gunk over the brick walls so hopefully the plaster will stick nicely. We have areas of modern gypsum plaster (on the new stud walls and plasterboard) and lots of breathable lime plaster to go on the original walls.... excited to see how different they look!
Can’t explain how exciting it is to see the walls covered in brown stuff... still a LONG way and a lot of plaster to go but jeeeeze this progress!
ALMOST THERE 🤗!
Carpets are down... that means we’re one step closer to moving in! Apart from furniture needing built the entire upstairs is finished 🎉.
I know I’m biased but I think we did a pretty good job! The house looks like new (well some of it!) it’s been a long time coming😌.
Also we finally bought a hoover and I may have enjoyed myself a bit too much making these hoover lines.😂

I took this one cosy Sunday afternoon.
Just looking at this makes me feel snug.
It’s may be only Monday but you got this and you’ll soon be in your snug place, relaxing 🖤
We love a punchy 🥊 bold print on kitchen counter stools 💥 Since it’s such a small surface area, you can dare to “go big” and have some fun with it! #meadowbankdesigns#schustagram

I last minute decided to paint our black wall back to white once I saw the fireplace finished. SO HAPPY I DID. It totally brightened up and changed the whole feeling of the room.
Have you ever painted a wall and changed your mind quickly? Swipe to see our black wall just 6 months ago!

Never would I have thought drawing homes would be one of my favorite things.. yet here we are. Do you know some one who has everything? Do they have a portrait of their home? Probably not.. but they should!! It makes for SUCH a thoughtful Christmas present. Don’t you want to be thoughtful??

Last week we had the bathroom floor raised for the first half and the bath fixed into place.
We’ve had to raise the floor for some piping to go underneath and found it worked well with where the shower is positioned and staggering the room out. It will cut off just in line with the window and will drop down to the normal height to make room for the slope in the roof so it’s not an awkward height.
The bath is now fixed in and has being fixed to the floor and sealed to the walls. We now need to order the toilet and shower then we have everything we need! Along with putting another coat of paint on the ceiling.

We have an element of the bathroom which we haven’t mentioned up to yet and have decided to keep quiet about until it is all done and can then reveal🤐🤔
YES I NEED ALL OF THIS PLEASE😍😍 I absolutely love @nextofficial ! Don’t be fooled if I could afford to have it all then I would be getting it all in tomorrow😭 my makeup room could do with all of these in it🥰 Happy Monday!🙈

Josh is off work today and he’s been putting some kitchen cabinets together for me that we got at Ikea this past weekend. It’s so much fun to watch a new project come together! I had a vision for a small kitchen/dining room renovation and it’s coming together so beautifully! I can’t wait to show you guys! 🙌🏻 Anyone else working on a home project at the moment?

We are so lucky to be house and cat-sitting for our wonderful friends in their beautiful Georgian Townhouse. Every corner of their home is interior goals. It's meant we can escape peak renovation. My hair is dust free for the first time in months, I panic (a bit) less and Monty makes an excellent little spoon 🐈 (sorry @dariusae you've been replaced) 🖤
Day 7 #mydailyrenovation
One of Josh’s less frequently undertaken tasks before the reno was using self levelling latex and knowing how to prep for it. Turns out it’s actually pretty easy and it definitely gave us a much smoother finish over the sticky, lumpy bitumen left over from ripping up the parquet tiles.
Josh primed the floor first with a PVA solution and laid the levelling compound straight on top. Super easy, super quick solution for smooth, even floor levels. Makes everything else much easier when you’re starting off level from the ground up #beautifyingblenheim
Shea: “You know, a lot of this project really didn’t go the way we originally anticipated which is hilarious because I’m very particular and had SUCH a clear vision in what I wanted for this space. But I think in the end it turned out even better than my original plan and I’m so thrilled with it, so that’s cool. The hardest part for me was mudding the fireplace and making sure it would be perfect for the Roman Clay finish. It was just so tedious but I’m glad I didn’t rush it because I think it turned out really, really good. I’m proud. My favorite part of this space is just the overall vibe I get when walking in there now. It’s truly a completely different room and it feels like a photo out of a magazine! And that’s not me being boastful, it’s just truly how it feels. It’s 100% the nicest room in our house now, haha”.
Jeremy: “I remember deliberating which room to do for the ORC but I’m so glad we decided to renovate the front. It hasn’t had a clear purpose since we moved in over a year ago. Now it’s the perfect place to cozy up in during the colder months and I couldn’t have envisioned all the ambiance and character we could fit in this space. I have to say, I was impressed with the detail of our fireplace when it arrived but once we wired it up and turned it on for the first time, I was blown away. The “flames” look so realistic and really complete the atmosphere of the room. I’m also so thrilled on how beautiful the floor is. It makes me want to keep going and finish the rest of the house! Overall this was our most-involved project yet and I’m really proud of all the work we did and challenges we overcame.
Our ORC is officially live on the blog! Huge thanks to our #partner@modernblaze for setting us up with an incredible new fireplace! We are in awe at how real it looks and feels! It may only be cold here about ten days of the year but we’ll enjoy the “warmth” of our fireplace all year round! Cheesy, but true! I’m not turning this thing off, like, ever.
🌿 A little personal post! It’s been almost a year since we closed on our house, slowly its becoming home. I sure misjudged how much time DIY renovating would take, but I’m still loving the process! I mean don’t these before + after photos satisfy your soul SO much? 🙊 Big thanks to @mymitzi + @catalystelectrics for our pretty #mymitzi lights, they’re so warm and cozy at night. 💛✨
The question is, do I hang a million trailing plants from that beam?! Also, what are your fave home decor small businesses? Give yourself a shout out if you are one! 🥰 Still lots to do in this space - I’m hoping to have Jerry build us a bigger coffee table, and find a cute rug in the next few weeks. Maybe some DIY pillows with some fabric paint! PS, I have a second account where I share the process of our renovation, if you’re into that it’s @aframe.on.fletcher 🌻☺️

Happy Veterans Day! Thank you so much to the men and women who have served and given up so much to protect our country. 🇺🇸
Hope you all had a good weekend! I
Finally took down the Halloween decor! 🙌🏼 and though I can’t get our tree up yet I did make it festive in the little boys room and they are loving it!

Did you catch my closet video? 👚👢Cleaning, organizing, and decluttering all in one! ✔️ Now if I could just find somewhere to wear a cute outfit lol. Sometimes I wake up like TODAY is the day to style it up.. and 99 percent of the time I still never make it out of yoga pants. Ahhh I need a date night ok. 😂 BTW - this is the #ikeapax closet system.
