Some people have asked us why do we buy vintage rugs. I mean, they’ve asked why we buy vintage, but that’s for another day. Today is all about the vintage rug.
First, we just love them. Between the colors, patterns and texture (hand), they can’t be beat. Seriously. They’re another form of art for your home, and many times they tell a story.
Second, in a new home they add a certain element of refinement and texture. If you’ve noticed many luxury homes have persian, or other types of foreign rugs to anchor their furniture. And if they’re lucky, they’ve been aged to perfection. It’s the perfect way to add a high end element to a space...which leads us to our third point.
Third, we buy vintage because it also fits our budget. Just like you, our budget runs short and thin sometimes so we have to get creative with our sourcing. Emma has found some amazing gems in barns, flea markets and who knows where else, but all of these rugs have brought us extreme happiness and oftentimes finish the room.
Knowing all of this, get a copy of Our Best Design Advice (on our website), and let’s work together to bring some of those vintage elements in...trust us, you’ll love your home even more. #thatsimpeccable
Who would have thought wool dryer balls would be a thing!?! I was a Bounce girl through and through! Their dryer sheet where heavenly! Then I discovered how dangerous they are for our health!
Not only do the chemicals on them get on your clothes but in the air and into your bloodstream stream and they are awful for the environment! So I did some research!
Wool is a great sustainable option! Wool can be felted into balls that you can use over and over and over again! They can replace dryer sheets! They work to help dry your clothes faster, eliminate static, and you can add essential oils to them!
I would have never thought I would be using wool dryer balls to dry my clothes! I absolutely love them! Pair them with the amazing sent of Thieves and I am hooked!
Such an easy simple swap! You can even wash your wool in the washer to keep them clean! It’s a total win win!
Are you using wool dryer balls? If not tell me so I can help you get some!
Any musicians out there!? This is my practice space downstairs...my husband and I are both violinists and I love practicing in a lovely space🥰 What instruments do you guys play?

Beauty is in the details, and when working with a designer, it’s those details that we ensure are executed perfectly. Because we handle all project management for renovations and new builds, we are on-site each week to make sure every item (like those amazing inlaid floors) are completed precisely to our original plans.

#ad | We don’t often get to go to Homesense as the nearest one is quite far away, so when I do...the excitement is REAL! I’m like a kid in a candy shop on a treasure hunt 💫😍 We’re hosting a little dinner party and I knew it’d be the perfect place to find all the trimmings to dress the table as well as find some cute gifts for our guests to take home. There’s always amazing savings to be had on branded items #LoveHomesense#TreasureSeeker#Love50@Homesense_UKIE
Hey fellow Instagramers!!! How’s late Autumn treating you!? Nebraska is starting to show its winter chill but I’m holding on to the last few weeks of Fall! I’ll need to start thinking of some fun Christmas decor, what are you all working on?

Streamline a dining area by keeping the color palette simple. The combination of grey, white, and natural wood- complimented with the grenery creates definition without being too overwhelming in a dining area, ideal for eating and entertaining!
TGIF! How is it Friday already? Thanksgiving is in two weeks!? The holidays will always remind me of my Gramma. She makes the best food and on top of that she ensures that she makes EVERYONES favorite dish! She has 8 plus grandchildren! That’s a lot of food! 🌲🍁🍂

What do you think?! I had such a great idea that Sean should put up these shelves for me. Thanks Sean, I was totally right! Best part was, we had the brackets and wood just sitting in our basement - totally re-use win.
YOU GUYS!! We won the vote and are being featured this week by the fabulous ladies of #myinterioroasis !!! So thrilled and flattered to have been chosen by their followers 😍 .
We’ll be back week after next to put our two new top contenders to the public vote so keep a look out for that! Thank you to Jude @thathomebirdlife for being a fab feature last time and helping us in our new adventure!

Our goal for this room was to: update, brighten and add a bit more depth / character (swipe for a pre-reno pic). My goal for this weekend: do some hunting, gathering and finalizing (some of the finishing touches). One of my favorite parts of any and every project!
Friday’s are for fan girling! We are having a serious love affair with navy right now and are obsessed with this bright yet moody dinning set up! ⠀

A little #fbf to our fearless leader, Rune, as a child in Norway 🇳🇴 Did you know that #wool is biodegradeable and helps regulate room temperature? It‘s also naturally crush, stain, and fire resistant! These are just a few of the reasons wool makes an excellent carpet material 🐑 #tipoftheday#funfactfriday#nowyouknow
A little throwback to last year's Christmas tree. How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you prefer neutrals, reds or multi-color Christmas decorations?

Lately I’ve been, I’ve been thinking... you know that song that says “I want you to be happier”? Well it came on the radio the other day and it resonated with me. Like I needed someone to tell me this.
Recently I’ve had lots of stressful changes hindering me from doing what brings me joy which is why you haven’t been seeing much of me here lately.
I’ll be the first to admit that I am often willing to put others before myself when it comes to happiness, that I’m a people pleaser, and that I will run myself ragged before letting someone down or being a disappointment, but with all of that said, I have to remember that at the end of the day I am no super hero. The harder I am on myself the worse I feel until I eventually close myself off from everyone and everything.
When I get like this, it’s hard to get motivated. Somedays it’s hard to even get out of bed, but I do because I have a job and people/pets that depend on me.
Sharing a few things that I do when that heavy feeling starts to set in:
I pray for guidance, strength, and peace of mind.
I look for positive/uplifting/inspirational words and quotes.
I think about all the things I am grateful for in my life.
I give myself time to rest/reset by taking a hot bath, stepping away from social media, and relaxing.
I do something that makes me happy and schedule my whole day around doing that one thing. This could be getting a cup of coffee/tea and catching up with a good friend, creating something, or taking a nice long walk outdoors.
I can’t express to you enough how important it is to check in and take time for yourself. Especially with the holidays coming up! Save this post for the next time you feel anxiety/stressed/depressed and work through each step until you start to feel better. Remember that at the end of the day, YOU are the ONLY one in control of your happiness.
#instareality of our utility room 🙈 Always a load or two of washing hanging here and this weekend will be spent getting caught up on lots of it 🙄 These drying racks are one of my favourite practical purchases though, they might not be pretty to look at but I haven't hung a load of washing outside since we put them up nor have I ever needed a clothes horse again 🙌 I'm currently trying to resist the urge to put up a Christmas tree tomorrow 😬🤪 Who thinks it's too early and who thinks I should just get it up? 😍🎄

Before sitting down for your next cozy night in, make sure you have all the movie night essentials. Good company? Check. Good snacks? Always. The best spot? Matrix reclining sofa has you covered.
Alexa, play It’s A Wonderful Life on Netflix.
Frameless glass enclosure beats dated glass block any day!
This is one of the guest bathrooms in our recent #beachhouseremodel project. We made this bathroom feel ten times larger by keeping the shower enclosure simple and frameless, opting for a light colored painted wall instead of a busy, dark wallpaper, and using a slightly smaller vanity with more useable storage. We also swapped out the Inward swinging door for a barn door (not shown). Swip right for the before pics!
I hope that by the end of this Friday all of our desks are as clean as this one!

This image gives a whole new meaning to black friday. 🖤 I am really, REALLY feeling this oversized custom steel ladder, patterned tile, and OBVI the matte black soaking tub. I am also digging our amazing client @lisapaulnewman who is not only a fellow badass boss-lady, but a wonderful friend who trusted me when we demoed this room, showed her a few picts, and then said “It’s gonna be fab I promise!” Moral of this story: Hug your clients today. 🙌🏻 Oh, and your photographers, beacuse this pict is🔥. 📷 @laurenpressey .
Current Crush! I am loving the cozy feel of this bedroom from @studiomcgee

Our living room is far from done (we honestly have done basically nothing so far), but it’s still one of my favorite rooms in the house. That being said, I’m not a fan of how it photographs (at least for me, anyway). 😣 Anyone else have a room like that in their house? #firstname.lastname@example.org http://liketk.it/2GU3h

Confession: These shelves contain nearly every tchotchke and small decor item we own in this entire house. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy all new decor for this space so I shopped my home instead. Problem is, I don’t think any of it is going back now. 😂
Three fun facts about me😂. Because I’m sure you all care😜
1. I can blow bubbles off my tongue! Like legit bubbles that fly in the air. I learned it from my good friend @jeffkenjisloniker in high school😂. Thanks, Jeff. My kids will forever be grossed out, yet amazed at the same time...all thanks to you 😜
2. I don’t own an ironing board. I NEVER use an iron. I despise them. I use @downy spray on all my clothes if they get wrinkled. I’m too lazy to even take the clothes off me, so I just spray it right on my clothes while they are on 🤦🏼♀️ I know that’s soo not like me, as I hate chemicals, but I am just too dang lazy to deal with all the steps that ironing entails.
3. When Sean and I first got married, all of our furniture was black 😲🖤🖤. Even my bridesmaids dresses were BLACK!! Can you believe that?? Man, things sure have changed around here!! Anyone else get married at the time when black dresses were in for weddings? 🖤
Anyways....I’d love for you to share a fun fact about yourself!! I would love to get to know you all better 😘😘
