Something I’ve enjoyed doing since moving to NY is to support runners at the #nycmarathon . Seeing so many athletes from all over the world and their families and friends support them on the sidelines give me so much hope. You can see their stories and determination etched in their faces. The trials and tribulations they are overcoming... the grit, optimism and hope in their faces. You will hear my “whoos” throughout the videos. The cheerleader in me still exists to try to give energy and support to those who may be getting depleted. I’ve made runners who looked forlorn smile and gave high fives and support to strangers. 😊 🏃♀️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏿♀️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏻♀️At 11.5 mile mark in #Williamsburg . #goNYgo#humansrock#liveinspired#nycmarathon2019#runnersworld#marathoners

Call me crazy.
We’ve been through a lot on this earth. As a species.
Sure it’s on fire, sure there’s a reality tv star as our president, we waste a ton, our waters are getting dirty... But we’ve been through worse.
Genocides, wars, depressions. Florida declared war on water back in the day because marshlands aren’t great for building. We survived that.
And sure, there are plenty of people contributing to the chaos.
BUT there are so many more waking up every day and contributing to peace, to love, to healing, to their families, to one another, to hard work, to faith, community, service, and hope.
There are no news channels reporting on them. ✨
But they’re there. 10 years working for non-profits, I met thousands of people willing to work for free, to give their most precious commodity freely: time. 🍃
So yes, it may look like the end of the world sometimes. And maybe there’s some truth to that. But I like to see the HUGE steps we’ve made as a species. The technology that helps thousands of us see every day (glasses, contacts, later), matches, water filters, needles, robots, planes, parachutes, bikes, scissors, tampons, cars, phones, THE INTERNET!!!! I’m getting excited just talkin’ about it. 🌿
Call me crazy. But there’s hope. We are a cyclical species. When things crash and crumble, we rebuild. ✨
Don’t get me wrong, keep doing what you’re doing to help. But it’s ok to trust that some way, somehow, we’ll figure this out. 🌻 #humans#humansrock#wegotthis#hope#keepgoing#inspo#wisdom#men#women#trust#love#nonprofit#people
So my usually airplane love language is earphones in music or movie while I work. I am an introverted traveler.
▫️ @delta ( #deltaloyal ) upgraded me to first class (first time ever!) So as I was settling in to 2B with my pillow and blanket, I turn to see my seat mate...a precious older man enjoying some champagne.
He asked me if Pensacola was home and explained where I’m from and what I was doing there.
He smiled and told me he and his wife were on their way to Amsterdam for a three week cruise.
Then we just kept talking...and talking. I asked him questions and he humored me by telling me about his life, military story and world travels (he was a FedEx pilot!)
As our plane landed in Atlanta I thanked him a million times over. While I rarely talk on planes, I can’t help but connect with the greatest generation because it reminds me of my GaGa (which of course I told him all about!)
It was a good reminder for me to take out my earphones and connect. People are amazing...especially those that have lifetimes of stories and lessons to tell! Don’t discount those who may move a bit slower. Embrace them because they are our greatest teachers.
Heading home with a full and happy heart...thinking of sweet Fess and wishing him a wonderful European cruise! ▫️

Some of the coolest, empathetic, caring, loving and most determined folks you’ll ever meet! It was a pleasure, once again, @survive.thrive! Thank you. ❤️💪🏻

[living, loving, celebrating] Last night was a great mixture of planned and unplanned. Which for me, is the synergy that creates the intangible joy of observation. Did you know Echo Park is beautiful any time of day? The cool part of the story is that we ate dinner early, went to the park and spent about an hour walking, on the way home we stopped for Cava and when we walked in the door of the grocery we saw four “strangers” that we sat near at this intimate, lovely sushi spot earlier. One of them recognized us and simultaneously we all took a moment to acknowledge the mysteries of life. We talked a bit, shared about our night, exchanged IG info, smiled, and parted with hugs! It was a beautiful moment, and I am most struck by the kindness of good humans. In such a large city, we happened to be on the same path. It was a wildly wonderful end to an amazing night. #humansrock#lovebymyside#gratitude
"The on-call Obstetrician talked over the risks associated with a prolonged rupture of membranes and strongly recommended augmenting the labour.
This felt a lot like what happened with the first birth, and triggered a strong emotional response.
We reminded her that this was a different birth, she was coping so well!
She agreed to augmentation and decided to hold off on any extra pain management options for the moment. The synthetic oxytocin was barely running and the labour shifted notably! This was all her.
After almost 7 hours of being 4-5 cm dilated she was suddenly 7-8 cm dilated!
She was really feeling the pressure of the baby shifting down now too. She moved into a standing position, swaying and rocking that baby down.
There had been a shift change and the new on-call Obstetrician popped in to say Hi, saw what was happening and told the Nurse not to increase the synthetic oxytocin anymore. This labour was enough." Full story in the website (link in bio)
Words can't properly describe what this birther overcame.
In the throws of active labour!
We're two weeks from the Apollo 11 50th anniversary. I'll probably post here as the 50th milestones occur all week after the 16th. I may also show the Apollo 11 film (which is VERY GOOD) in my back yard theater if there's interest. #apollo11#humansrock#adastra

Meow! Welcome back homies. It’s time for you to meet my glorious smothering human @lyshgrimm. We’re best pals! She even tells me all her secrets! And I only tell my brother Grayson. She’s the one who gives me the best pets, feeds me, and squeezes me so hard that I hate her and love her at the same time. She kinda set all this up. Apparently I’m lazy and 17 naps a day is unacceptable to her..... speaking of naps...... ZzZzzzZzzZz #catnaps#cats#catsofinstagram#humansrock#catractive#felinefriends#meow#purrnation
Your challenge for today: Perform 3 Acts of Kindness to a Stranger.
It could be anything. A kind word, a compliment, helping carry groceries, striking up a conversation...you get the idea. Then...post your kind acts in the comment section of either my Instagram or Facebook posts.
Always remember...in order to change the world we must change ourselves. If compassion and kindness is what the world is missing...you can be the one to find it and radiate it! #knowyourpower#c4kmovement#kindness#compassion#humansrock#bethechange#youareamazing

Class is in session. Humans are a great species. They help each other. They carry each other. They support each other. Very beneficial to their race. No one human gets there alone. Sometimes it's a word from a respected human that gets the other to where they want to be. They always have someone to help them along the way. Embrace your humanity my humans, embrace it.

...it's easy to get disheartened by events like #Brussels but these acts of war are based on delusional archaic beliefs which will eventually fade into obscurity as we inevitably evolve into a more advanced species. Already through social media we have the ability to think viscerally as a family, as one single entity. #prayforparis was not a gimmick it was an example of global empathy. #EMPATHY is the invisible hand that will unite us all and ultimately lead to global peace and colonisation of the universe. We are only in our infancy. I believe in us! #humansrock#stopkillingpeople

Okay this is not shop related at all, but I love it so much I want to share it with the world! Have you seen the Google Doodle today??? AMAZING! ❤️❤️❤️ When I taught 5th grade, my students and I voted one year to help choose the Google Doodle winner (I know some of them are reading this right now - remember that, you guys?!?) and it makes me SOOO happy to see that this is a winning image this year! From the youth of our planet, an image of hope, love, kindness, acceptance, inclusion... and to know that it won means many, many other people feel this way, too! Yaaaay! ❤️🌎 #hope#kindness#acceptance#kindnessalwayswins#bekind#bekindtooneanother#lovealwayswins#thefutureisbright#humansrock
We can disagree and not be angry. We can believe differently without being enemies. We can hear each other and not try to change each other's mind. We CAN and should respect each other just because we have this one thing in common...we're human and very much alike in so many ways. #peace#respect#love#humansrock ✌🏻
