How is it Friday already?
What this crazy daylight savings thing I’ve been so out of it these days 🤪 Time is flying super fast, it is getting dark so early that you never know what time it is and it seems absolutely appropriate to want to go to sleep at 6pm...are you there with me?? 😅
Seriously though...my body better get used to this soon. Meanwhile happy Friday friends! Have an awesome weekend ahead!
P.S. Can you still see the LIKES?? 😄
This was one of the first places I ever went hiking. I saw a porcupine and I wanted to play with it but @toastyhug wouldn’t let me. Still had a lot of fun though.

Who's ever seen an old milk can used as the summit marker on the top of a mountain? What a cool peak, and the views were incredible of the valley below. After summiting all I had to do was some bushwacking through semi-open forest where I had just seen fresh mountain lion tracks. Did I mention that I got a crisp alpine start of 1:30pm and light was fading during the descent?😂
“We can’t stop here, it’s Sheep Eater country”. My interpretation of these Big Horn sheep as they invaded and then escaped our camp site along the Main Salmon or River of No Return.
The original Native inhabitants of this area, the Tukudeka a faction of the Northern Shoshone came to be known as the Sheep Eaters because of their proficiency in hunting these canyon big horns. What’s interesting is that they made bows out of the rams horns. They would soak the horns in the hot springs making them pliable, cutting strips down the centers of the horns, they would then fasten two pieces together. These bows had an incredible draw strength yet were small in size, compared to other styles of that time. You can find mentions of these sought after bows littering the history of the Northwest. It’s quite the experience to have these animals feet away and to ponder the existence of those cultures that shared this landscape with these beautiful creatures. @visitidaho#riverofnoreturn#salmonriver#shoshone#tukudeka#wildlife#bighornsheep#sheepeaters#visitidaho
If you go just a few miles west of our farm you will find yourself in the middle of a desert... right now it’s kind of a cold dessert. But there is cacti and snakes so it counts 🤣 🌵This desert vibes shirt is from my friend’s new clothing boutique @thesweetsunflowerboutique#shopsmall#shoplocal
