Well after a week of some serious pain thinking I popped my hernia again, I am so happy I am one of the 2% that gets an infection😢 I will take that any day! Feeing so much better and cleared to go back to the gym😍 This has been a huge stress for me and now I feel so ready to get on track and get my abs back. Still a bit swollen but with antibiotics for a week that should be gone in no time. I don’t think I have smiled like this in a long time. #athlete#bikinigirl#ifbbpro#timetogettowork 💪

Today’s check-in pics 💗... currently navigating my way through an “off season.” Not even improvement season, really. I achieved my huge goal of becoming an IFBB Bikini Pro in July, and now I am reevaluating where I want to go from here. I’m giving myself a reprieve from “stage goals” to figure out what MY goals are. To be totally honest, I’m just not sure right now. And while that drives me (and prob my coach) CRAZY, I think this break is necessary to help me to figure it out. Until then, fitness is my lifestyle and my passion, and I will continue to share my journey and do my best to inspire and motivate and encourage you all with what I learn along the way.

How often are you TRULY thankful? In a world of social media and constant comparison, are you able to step back from all that and be thankful for YOU?
If you want to adjust your mindset, start with a grateful attitude. Instead of focusing on your flaws, focus on your growth. No matter what is going on in your life, no matter how far you feel from your goals, there’s ALWAYS something to be thankful for.
Today at the gym I focused a lot on a grateful attitude and practiced positive self talk. And guess what happened? I had a GREAT workout. Today I’m thankful that 1. I have the confidence and knowledge to go into the weight room alone (this was NOT always the case for me when I was in college), 2. That I’m an IFBB pro and I’m prepping for my 2nd pro show (a long-time dream come true). And I mentally focused on these 2 things my entire workout!
So here’s your challenge, next time you’re feeling down, think of 1-3 things that you’re thankful for and let that become your mantra. Focus on those few things.
When a negative thought comes into your mind, accept it for what it is, then move on and replace it with your mantra. Mindfulness and thankfulness can go a LONG way.

As we age, physical instability increases due to muscle weakening, arthritis, slowed reflexes and decreased vision. But falling is not a normal part of aging.

When I first started lifting weights, it was only to reach a current, specific goal. I basically just didn’t want to be “fat” anymore. I wanted to feel athletic and healthy. I wanted to get into “the best shape of my life” as a one time bucket list thing.... Little did I realize that it was transforming my whole life in almost every way. Not only did I get into the best shape of my life, I was able to continue that on for the next 7 years. Even through 2 more pregnancies, I have easily been in my best shape many times between these births.
