I was so lucky to have experienced the worlds largest balloon festival in Albuquerque New Mexico! Hundreds of balloons spotted the early morning sky. It was beautiful to watch.

Been overwhelmed by the world recently (don’t get me started on Venezuela & the Human Rights Council...), which means my creativity levels have been close to zero 🚫🎨 Yet this past month, I’ve felt convicted & inspired to keep on reading, learning, and do hands-on projects! Here are just a few things that have inspired me...
🏜 contemporary Southwest design (like beautiful interiors @elreycourt), and this @westelm midcentury modern chair I’m plotting my way to owning
📚 my book club!! so far we’ve read The Overstory (Pulitzer-prize winner) + The Third Plate (about sustainable food systems by @bluehillfarm’s Dan Barber). we’re doing @wearetheweather next! 🌊
🏺inspired to take a pottery class after seeing a therapeutic demo at @hanselmannpottery (but side note why are classes so expensive)
📺 watching @abstractdesign on Netflix (thanks for the rec @_ophs!)
🍰 baking @halfbakedharvest pumpkin-everything recipes & wanting to make green smoothies w/ superfood/adaptogen-everything like @chellsea_shea
Send recs if you have others please!! 👩🏻🎨

Cooper and I took a ride downtown. So many building projects going on. Stopped in the Barrio to enjoy the beauty of the old architecture. This house has to be one of the most photographed in the Barrio.
Who knew New Mexico had some pretty dang pretty fall colors too?! Well everyone that lives here did but i feel like not many people outside of New Mexico know much about the crazy beautiful landscapes the state has to offer 🙌🏻🔥
Indimenticabile❤️. .

You never know what's around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you've climbed a mountain. - Tom Huddleston

Well we’ve been cooped up in the house for the past week with broken limbs, sick kids and exhausted parents.
So, I’m thinking we are going to attempt to load up the fam and at least take them for a drive to see the beautiful fall colors on our mountain.🍂
And if I can sneak away maybe I’ll get some more snaps in.💛
It’s a gorgeous Saturday in our neck of the woods.
What are your Saturday plans?

Made up some Southwest potatoes and chicken last night! I haven't learned many cooks from this region and needed to star somewhere...
Let me know your favorite Southwest dish and maybe I'll try to cook it up soon! 😊

The road into Snow Canyon State Park near St. George, Utah set the expectation of a beautiful landscape and the park did not disappoint!

The Ferris wheel slowly spins and mesmerizes all who watch. The Arizona State Fair is a great place to practice some creative photography. To read about this story, please click on the link in my bio and go to Blog. More info on camera settings on www.amysimpressions.com .

This wasn’t her favorite camping trip but it sure did prepare us for colder weather. For the first time ever Valley shivered in the tent in the middle of the night so I had her snuggle up to me and I put my down jacket on top of her. She instantly passed out. Looks like we need to start looking for a dog jacket for her for the colder weather. It got down to the low 40’s with some wind. Any suggestions for warm jackets for dogs are welcome! #belgianmalinois#malinoislovers#happydog

My buddy said it best yesterday.... when I'm in the jeep I can't stop smiling!
One of my favorite mornings from this past summer: sunrise in a remote part of a remote mountain range in Wyoming, a short walk from my tent. Breakfast was wildflowers and poptarts that morning, basically superhuman fuel if you ask me 🤷🏻♂️
