It seems most wetlands have an alarm system, and most of them consist of a little black bird with red wings and a loud call. The Red Wing Blackbird can be a noisy alarm for any movement or changes. This one was giving me a play by play of the deer that was walking in the distance. I always look forward to their arrival in the spring but as spring moves into summer their call changes and the red on their wings dulls letting me know they are getting ready to leave to warmer climates. A sad time when I visit a wetland and I don't hear them anymore.
A photo that I took in 1982 of a logging operation on Holberg Inlet at the Port Hardy area at the northern tip of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I was part of a small group that spent 3-4 years exploring for copper in an attempt to expand Utah Mines Island Copper Mine reserves in the area.

For most they don’t know but Christmas is the hardest day of the year for me right now. Family is completely split, don’t even get to spend it with mom or brother or grandfather but that’s a CHOICE tbh. I know I’m going through pain right now for a reason but I’m CHOOSING to suffer in the short term to live in paradise over the long term. I thought I was getting “numb” to the missing feeling of my family but I found out lately I just stopped living in my current reality. I’m living in my vision right now and it’s so beautiful and I’m celebrating that 💙 Pastor Collin said yesterday to celebrate in your struggle because you’re celebrating you’ll NEVER be there again. I know in my HEART, and that’s a very very VERY strong feeling, that I and ATM’s will NEVER feel like this in the holidays ever again. #mycanadianphotos#canada_photolovers#ig_canada#ontario_advantures#beautifulcanada#tourcanada#explorecanada#thecanadacollective#livelovecanada#raw_canada#gaylife#gaytraveling#gayman#gayguy#imagesofcanada#pockets_canada#discovercanada#igcanada
