"When you view your world with an attitude of gratitude, you are training yourself to focus on the good in life."

The Emirates NBD Unity Run includes a #3km fun run/walk and an un-timed #10km run, as well as the Unity Village; a festive fayre for families and the community
Guess who’s got the whole world at his fingertips?
In Ethiopia, Africa, there is very little understanding of Down syndrome and children are often kept hidden away. That’s what my Uber driver was telling me. Lovely guy, refugee, 4th year in Australia and ... his cousin has DS! It puts our conditions into perspective.
The world has a long way to go accepting diversity and really understanding inclusion.
The bond formed by Down syndrome unites people from all around the world. United we are stronger.
Goosebumps, Empathy, Role Models and Selflessness beyond measures, few words to describe the D&I boot camp I was a part of on behalf of my organization Travelex, to get an insight on how do we sustain as a LGBTQ friendly organization.
Yeah, let's be more vocal as LGBTQ is no more a “Sensitive Topic” and is as normal as Women Empowerment, Ladies out there you are allowed to laugh!
Pun apart, at times I felt my presence in the society worthless to know how this community is still struggling for that sense of belonging.
Friends, they are simply us and thus capable enough of getting everything on their own, it’s the rejection and change in our behaviour bothers and restricts them to ask/choose what they deserve, be it a Job or choice of partner!
Enough of tweeting only when laws are getting sanctioned, it's time that we go back to the basics of humanity and build a chain of LGBTQ Allies. I picked these to educate myself and so can you- Accept, Embrace, Correct, Speak, Promote and Support.
At times, people think I am building the foundation for my “Coming-out” as if I belong to them. Yes, we belong to each other because I am a human first and I know how Rejection in any of its form feels.

Proud of this kid today. Today we went to a very loud and busy 1st birthday party and this kid handled it like a boss. Usually when there’s such a large amount of kids (boys in particular) it’s a recipe for disaster as they can become rough or Cruz can’t read the cue of when another child has had enough and will keep on going and the kid can get frustrated and lash out. That only happened once today and Cruz cried, we had a chat about when someone says stop that he needs to stop and then he went back to playing. Those times break my heart because I just want to stay with him the whole time and make sure no-one hurts him but I also know this is something he needs to learn to handle with my direction. After that Cruz had loads of fun playing with the other kids. He said there were some times where he felt a bit sad because of the other kids but he managed to make himself feel better. I’m so proud of him. I know it’s not easy being Cruz and navigating his little mind and body in the big wide world and I don’t think we give enough credit to our autistic kids at just how hard they work everyday to make sense of the things around them when they are wired to resist a lot of it. There was no defiance or resistance today, just a happy little boy enjoying a noisy and busy birthday party. To some people that’s just a normal occurrence but to a special needs parent it’s a massive win and feels like when Judd Nelson punches the air at the end of the breakfast club. #thiskidcanparty

Okay, so something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time - mostly inspired by @thefatsextherapist was to share advice and observations from my work as an Equity, Diversity, Identity and Inclusion adviser. So this is my first one EVER!! ☺️☺️💯 So something I’ve noticed a lot in conversations about identity and heritage is the attention to detail that is given to origin and geography. Talking about countries in Europe with a lot of detail “Oh so she grew up in Aberdeen but now lives in Berlin”. But talking about African and Asian heritage as “Oh, I think they’re Chinese” or “West Africa” or just naming a whole Continent.
Last month some members of our team attended a workshop by Gendered Intelligence on Trans People in Sport + Physical Activity and how we can be as inclusive as we can to ensure that everyone feels like they can use a sporting environment as their safe haven. ⠀
As part of our organisation's efforts to work towards better inclusion for trans people, we created an internal infographic for our own staff, to support their knowledge & understanding and to help them feel more confident in this area! ⠀
We hope that you also find this infographic useful and hope that it allows you to feel more encouraged to continue ensuring our sport is as accessible and inclusive as possible! ⠀
Please share with your friends, family, club members, club committee members, facility owners and more! Let's make the first step by being confident raising awareness of how we can be inclusive! ⠀

Meet Heather Edmond, one of our speakers for Monday's #ChatSci !
London – This ChatSci session will tell the story of how Heather became interested in generational dynamics and intergenerational inclusion. From climate change to Brexit, British policymakers seem to be increasingly talking about the ‘generational’ aspects of major policy issues. She will explore some of the political theories and models that have shaped her research journey to date
ChatSci returns for one night on Monday 23rd September, 6.30pm. Visit us on Facebook for more details on both our amazing speakers
#latergram from last Sunday 🐠 I love watching my daughter become a strong swimmer, love watching her dive around to look at fish, love her sure footedness, her strength. She is so beautiful to me, beloved

One of the team headed off on a Saturday with their two kids. “We found the staff really good and helpful, and there were loads around to help if you needed it. There were good facilities for wheelchair access and lots of available accessible toilets.
At the start they tell you what’s involved and you can work out what might work for you and the family, which we didn’t and Ben shat himself when a dragon came out!
There was lots of queues but if you go when it opens then can avoid these. They do offer personal guides which other families were using and they staggered entry into the exhibitions.
I asked someone about relaxed sessions but they were not sure. That place would be fab if they could open before the general public.” ✅ One free carer ticket can be provided for each paying disabled visitor and these are booked through our Visitor Services Team(ID required) .
✅ changing places toilet.
✅ they have an autism guide.
A big thank you to the almost 2000 people across 3 Australian cities and at 4 events where I spoke this week.
It was a busy week of speaking engagements as I opened a large industry conference of property professionals and closed another conference of HR leaders from the public sector. I also led a boardroom discussion of CFO’s and spoke at a women in tech event. A fabulously diverse group of leaders who are all interested in understanding how they can be the best leaders they can be.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to speak about important issues such as trust, leadership, emotional intelligence and diversity and inclusion and I look forward to the future speaking engagements I have coming up. I love writing and speaking about issues that will help leaders be the leaders of the 21st century we all need and who will help ensure our workplaces are truly inclusive and diverse.
