I arrived in Osaka earlier today and spent most of it following the very bright lights or wafts of food and charcoal smells. After doing 3 laps of the city I headed back in the direction of the hotel via a Family Mart for the daily Coolish. Before i got there I spotted a little quirky dive bar so thought I'd nip in for a beer and weirdly it was just me and the owner. What a cool bar... He spoke hardly any English, i spoke absolutely no Japanese but we had a good few hours of pointing at CD's and putting weird bbc4 music archive dvds on the tele in the corner... big fan of Osaka! .

I first travelled to Japan in 2016 and instantly realised how amazing a country it was. It was at that time I also really worked out how much I enjoyed photography and spent 95% of my time there with my camera in my hand.
I’m currently sat in Copenhagen airport with a Carlsberg on my way back to Tokyo. Amazingly I don't want to pour it down the drain.. they keep the good stuff.
My plan is that I’ll be working for a couple of days before heading off on a whistle stop tour of the many islands that make up Japan.
Over the next three weeks I’ll be posting some shots from the weird and wonderful spots across the country, with a mix of street, landscape and who knows what else. #japan #nature #natgeo

In France, you can’t work for the state if you wear religious imagery. Christian stuff’s ok though

I have a new website and I’ve written and few things about seeing Mount Fuji in all its glory, seen here surrounded by Moss Phlox (also known as Shibazakura) and some late-blooming Sakura in the foreground. Check out the link in my bio for that and a bunch of other new things.

This is probably the closest I’ve been to Mt Fuji... yet! We travelled down to Kawaguchiko to visit the Shibazakura Flower Festival (photos to come!)
Although overall a great day, I definitely would advise visiting outside of Golden Week ‘cos those traffic jams were really something else! 😅😅
